MARCUS FRASER, who was released by Celtic last week, will join Ross County for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old central defender, who spent three months at Cowdenbeath last season, has impressed Dingwall boss Jim McIntyre in training sessions.

Fraser, once tipped as one for the future by Neil Lennon, made only two appearance for the Hoops before suffering a cruciate ligament injury in 2013.

He made his debut in the 3-1 Europa League win over Rennes early the same year and also faced Inverness Caley Thistle in another 3-1 success in February.

Fraser, who can also play right-back, is arriving at the Highland club just as another ex-Celt, Lewis Toshney, is leaving.

The 22-year-old defender, who made one first team appearances at the Hoops and who was loaned to Kilmarnock and Dundee in his three years at the club, will leave County at the end of the month when his contract expires.
