CELTIC AIM TO BE CUP SCREEN GEMS

CELTIC’S Scottish Cup Fifth Round tie against St Mirren in Paisley will be televised live with a 2pm kick-off on Sunday February 11.

Satellite sports channel Viaplay will be beaming the action as it happens with the programme due to kick off at 1.30pm.

Coincidentally, the holders met Stephen Robinson’s team EXACTLY a year ago at the same stage of the competition and won 5-1 at Parkhead with goals from Reo Hatate (2, 1 pen), Daizen Maeda, Matt O’Riley and Oh Hyeon-gyu.

PICK IT OUT…Paulo Bernardo lobs the ball over Buckie Thistle keeper Stuart Knight for the opener in the 5-0 romp.

It will be Brendan Rodgers’ side’s second visit to the stadium this year after getting the ball rolling in 2024 on January 2 with a 3-0 victory following strikes from Maeda, O’Riley and Greg Taylor.

The Hoops also featured in the previous round live on the box when they romped to a 5-0 success over Highland opposition Buckie Thistle with Paulo Bernardo, Odin Holm, Kyogo Furuhashi, Luis Palma and Rocco Vata on target.

Intriguingly, the Cup-tie between Philippe Clement’s Ibrox outfit and Ayr United will be shown live the previous day on the same channel with a 5.30pm start.

Hoops legend Scott Brown, who was announced as the Somerset Park club’s new boss yesterday, can expect a hot reception in Govan.
