CELTIC IN PREMIERSHIP SWITCH

CELTIC’S Premiership match against Hearts at Tynecastle has been switched to Sunday March 3 with a midday kick-off.

The game had been scheduled to be played the previous day with a 3pm start, but has been moved with Sky Sports electing to show the action live.

It will be the third time the teams have met this season with the champions easing to a 4-1 win in Edinburgh in October where Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Tomoki Iwata, with his first for the Hoops, claimed the goals.

A FIRST FOR TOMOKI…Japanese midfielder Iwata celebrates his breakthrough strike for Celtic in the 4-1 win at Tynecastle in October.

However, there was a shock in store for Brendan Rodgers’ men when Steven Naismith’s side came to the east end of Glasgow last month and triumphed 2-0 with first-half strikes from Lawrence Shankland and Stephen Kingsley.

The Parkhead men also played at Tynecastle three times last season – winning all three, two in the league and one in the Scottish Cup.

Ange Postecoglou’s outfit eased to a 3-0 victory on the quarter-final of the national trophy on their way to success at Hampden at the end of season to seal a world record eighth domestic treble.

Greg Taylor was the unlikely goal hero in the 4-3 league win on October 22 2022, the first time Celtic had encountered VAR.

And Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu were the marksmen when the visitors claimed a second successive crown on May 7.

Scotland’s title kings are also scheduled for Sky live league games at Aberdeen, Hibs and Motherwell as well as Hearts.
