Celtic need to learn resuscitation methods

980

Celtic have lost in the game immediately after three of their previous four European games, shipping nine points which could be crucial in determining the destination of the championship, so it was not surprising they were below par for much of the game yesterday.  Fortunately, the Aberdeen goal came early enough to allow Celtic time to raise their game and respond.

How Celtic respond after European games will become even more crucial in the weeks ahead as they have visits to Motherwell, Dundee United and St Johnstone due after our next three Europa League games.  Any slim championship aspirations will be extinguished in these games if Celtic are unable to improve performance for the league challenge.

Ally McCoist is defying early predictions and grinding out impressive results for Rangers, who will seldom have started the league with such an impressive defensive record.  Six away wins from six games without conceding a goal is the kind of form it takes to win leagues.

Our more immediate challengers, Motherwell, dropped two points on Saturday, meaning we can go two points clear of them if we win our game in hand, however, the teams meet at Fir Park a week on Sunday (three days after Celtic play Rennes), in what looks like being a key game in our season.

Thanks. I did not know they still want him.

It was confirmed yesterday that Napoli and Atalanta are watching our Michal Zyro. They were in Warsaw again yesterday.

Yesterday we won 2:0 and the scorers were 19 years old Zyro and 18 years old Wolski.

  3. Jude- don’t go near it; all your details will then be uploaded/downloaded by The Man.

Anyways, there are some examples of well run clubs punching above their weight in Europe- Lille, Udinese , maybe Norwich are going to be next on the list- so it can be done with a bit of imaginative thought and application.

  4. has the bbc recieved any notice yet of legal proceedings to be instigated against them regarding the great whyte hope yet,

I think I read an article by Laudrup say how they would take advantage of a corner or free kick against them by bombing up the park from a set piece.

  6. TET – Problems? That is an understatement! It will cause major problems for the football club but solve a lot of problems for Craig Whyte, and solve them very lucratively.

    Note the respective match stats…

Celtic v Aberdeen: Celtic had 8 shots on target and scored twice (25%). Aberdeen had 1 shot on target and scored once (100%).

Hearts v Rangers: Hearts had 12 shots on target and did not score (0%). Rangers’ had 4 shots on target and scored twice (50%).

Players need to stop picking up stupid bookings like running off the park and taking their strips off (bar its the last game of the season and weve won the SPL) lol.

I noticed a few years ago thems stopped this and they won the 2nd title. We need to be at full strength for the rest of the season!! I was also disgusted at Neil sitting with his arms folded when we were 3 down at R P. He didnt move till we scored the 2nd goal.

Come on Neil we need that THUNDER!!!!!!!!

I don’t think that a lot of people appreciate that the cash that Craig Whyte will take from rangers regardless of the insolvency event will need to come from rangers.

Kitalba and others hit the nail on the head when we got reinstated to the Europa league. We have too many games, too many injuries from these games and not a big enough squad.

All they have to do is turn up for league games.

I’m getting sick of CQN ers having a go at individual players..we all want these players to be better but what we need is better players.

If guys in the team had more to give they wouldnt be freebies/ loans/ low cost players.

The market our CEO deals in is the one full of mediocrities

The occasional gem might be unearthed but that just secures their ticket to better things?

I mentioned this after they got knocked out of the League Cup

I asked is it a good thing or a bad thing that they are out of Europe and the League Cup??

As we now have a lot more games

I got slaughtered and told that THEY did it last season

For the record I agree that it is better for THEM – less games with a small squad

I think its more than just games and tierdness

I hate to say it but I think McCoist has got a happy squad all playing for each other

When teams have quality players who like winning and show it on the park with results.. Injuries are seldom a problem and games cant come enough

On the other hand when players of limited character and ability start to struggle in games..suddenly everyone is prone to injury?

  25. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS – True story: I used to smoke a pipe.

I was in Spar one day trying to buy pipe tobacco, and the girl behind the counter seemed strangely confused and embarrassed by my request.

She looked at me quizzically, leaned forward and whispered:

“Is it the flavoured ones you’re after, or ribbed?”.

I said “No, darling. I’m trying to buy a packet of CONDOR”. (thumbsup)

    Using my 2 season rule:

I agree but Ki and McCourt need to go. Both fabulously talented but so am I. Problem wee all share is we can’t make a contribution in SPL over 90 mins. Partly fitness partly heart. We are all great players when the team is winning as we can showboat our class without pressure.

Actually, I’m lying about me.. I have the heart and the fitness …
