CELTIC STEP UP VATA TALKS

CELTIC are stepping up talks to keep wonder Bhoy Rocco Vata at the champions.
The 18-year-old winger is out of contract in the summer and can walk away for free, a situation that has alerted Serie A double-act Bologna and Como.
The Italian sides could make a move before Thursday’s 11.30pm deadline with the Hoops receiving a training compensation fee of around the £400,00 mark.
BREAKTHROUGH STRIKE…Rocco Vata pounces to tuck away a cutback from Mikey Johnston for his first Celtic goal in the 5-0 Scottish Cup victory over Buckie Thistle.
However, the Parkhead bosses are determined to keep the son of former Hoops star Rudi Vata and a new deal has been put on the table for the forward who scored his first goal for Brendan Rodgers’ team in the 5-0 Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle nine days ago.
A four-year deal has been offered to the talented youngster who has already made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side.
It appears there is likely to be some tough negotiating ahead before any contract is signed, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.
Vata has been at Celtic since he was 11 years old and has worked his way up through the ranks.
