  1. It’ll take a bit of time for our new signings to gel.

At times our forward movement was good to watch, then the sideway passing crept in, which is uncomfortable to watch.

Overall, happy with the result, need to kill teams of though.

Thank f**k the GB will be back for the next home game.

They bring what the jungle and section 4 and 5 of the Celtic end did….

  2. for personal reasons haven’t been able to get across to a game for a while now and really wished I had have been there today. Only got seeing some of the game on TV – a win’s a win and I can only see us getting better. hailx2!

  3. We must watch different games at times. I enjoyed the game and thought Celtic were very impressive until Brown was subbed. Aberdeen then changed their formation and had a really strong 15 minute spell, but the Celtic coaches recognized the problem and added Biton in midfield. We finished the stronger team. There were no shirkers in the team and the effort was there.

Also give Aberdeen credit. They beat us last year and have an even stronger team now.

With regards the GB I don’t understand why management and GB work together. It can’t be a big deal to have their banners approved ahead of time. I believe Borussia Dortmund do this (and they also have super enthusiastic support)

    Hail Hail

Commons McGregor and tonev are not strikers. Sceptovic never got any balls through to him apart from one that was offside. Honestly can’t mind there goalie making a save.

  5. mild mannered Pedro delgado on

Disagree re Johanson. Didn’t think he had a bad game.we wouldn’t want to right off scep after one game.guidetti was good but the game was stretched by the time he came on so give scep time l

  6. Didn’t see the first half (stuck in work on my bday) but the second half we played some nice football, the gelling process if clearly not complete especially with new guys coming in. It was also very open at times and we need to fix that because better teams will punish us.

Guidetti looks like a great player, my mind is made up on what I saw.

Johansen needs to bulk up. I’ve thought he’s been very hit and miss. When he came in I thought he was the Brown replacement with better passing, but his passing is off and Brown has improved immensely. Still think he has the potential to turn into a very good player but there’s something missing from his game. Great run at the end which shows off his engine, and I thought he was fouled, but it also highlights how slight he is. Do you even lift bro’?

Didn’t see much of Tonev or Scepovic.

VVD is such a classy player, still has a lot to learn and needs to still switching off to diagonal runs and runs in behind (I noticed he did this even from his YouTube videos before he arrived) but he has boundless potential and should go on to be a world class defender.

Craig Gordon has surely proved his doubters wrong – such an assured presence (more so than FF?) and a safe pair of hands. I’m sure he’ll make a big blunder at some point but all keepers do.

Good sub which turned the momentum back in our favour bringing Btiton on.

  7. Our wingers don’t work far enough back and in field when we don’t have the ball. Passing from defence is better but we also seem to just punt it at times.

I take it we will be looking for two centre halfs in January given that Denayer and VVD won’t be with us come Next summers qualifiers.

  8. Just in from the game. Good entertainment. No failures but some played better than others. Noticeable difference in the team when Broonie tired and went off.

Gordon was excellent. So was VVD and Denayer.

Johansen was great and was fouled when he was going to score at the end after a brilliant run.

Guidetti looked the best of the new boys but was happy enough with all of them.

Aberdeen made it a good game and kept it excitement right up to the end.

  9. Just back from a thoroughly enjoyable game. Celtic dominated first half, Aberdeen more I it in the second. Gordon, VVD, Denayer, brown (for an hour), Johansen, Commons (for an hour) all played well. New boys did ok, probably need more games. Full backs a worry, Izzy defensively and Efe’s concentration.

  10. Just back fro a Tropical Paradise.

Why don’t we play this game in the summer?

Anyway, VWD a class above, closely followed by Denyaer.

All the new guys looked like they need game time but definitely showing promise.Good to see Brown back.

Times up for Efe tho, he just makes to many mistakes and isn’t worth the risk.

  11. Lennon’s Passion

If you think it’s that bad then stop going (assuming you go in the first place as you seem to have been at a different game from me today)

  12. Seems like those at the game had a different appreciation of Johansen than those watching on telly.

And also overall those at the game seemed to enjoy it more. With some exceptions of course.

  13. Colour Blind Bhoy on

Just back from game, pleased to get 3 points and happy to send the away fans home with nothing, they are a nasty lot theses days. Thought Craig Gordon was a great asset to us late in the game coming off his line and commanding his penalty box.

Only saw the first 70 mins due to work but saw some positives along with a few things that hopefully get better as the team develops. When it clicks it looks very good and we move the ball forward at speed. I think Stefan and Guidetti will need time to click with the other forwards, Tonev, Mcgregor and Commons who were all greedy at times and could’ve passed to Stefan instead of always shooting.

The midfield sitters need to be more disciplined positionally and always show for the ball which is something I feel Johansen needs to work on. He has a great engine but needs to direct and control his energy. Good to see Brown back and he’ll only get better with games.

Efe at RB looks a bit lost and with Mcgregor being a bit inexperienced they sometimes get stuck and cling too close to the touchline and get in each others way. Once again, games will help them.

The worry is that while we chase and harry up field sometimes we sit of when the opposition attacks. We also lack an experienced leader/organiser at the back apart from Gordon. VVD and Denayer are both great players but still young. Izzy has experience but is not a talker and spends most of his time attacking. Efe is Efe, both good and bad and is definitely not an organiser. We sometimes lose our shape defensively. I’m looking forward to having Lustig back as he’ll make a big difference. Again, the team needs games together.

Salzburg will be a big test and we need to keep things tight and relearn how to play a clever European away leg. Looking forward to it.

Busy gazebo down Celtic Way, with happy Tims TBB EC67 SFTB Jobo and Yoyo and Goldstar10.

Saw a nice wee day in Paradise where RD’s revamped forward line settled in, and we saw a deserved home win. Celtic hit Aberdeen twice at the start of each half, and when Aberdeen resorted to all or nothing attack RD responded quickly by using the full squad, boldly withdrawing M.O.M Scott Brown, for Kayal and Biton to close out the game, holding what we had.

Although substituted Brown was clearly a missing cog in RD’s reign, and aided by the tireless Johansson , Celtic with Scepovic, Tonev, and Gudetti making varying impressions, never looked like anything other than a worthy three point home win.

Denayer, VVD, Ambrose and back on form Izzy enjoyed a great game of football and

Aberdeen to their credit showed Scottish football is alive and kicking. Craig Gordon claimed all the cross balls, Commons and McGregor could easily have had hat tricks on another day. And Johansson’s protracted run should have ended with a penalty, as he was cleared impeded in box with the trigger about to be pulled in injury time.

Good progress being made by the new management team as Celtic especially in the first half, could have k.o.’d the Dons, a tidy victory for another Celtic side that had not played together competatively but comfortably eclipsed the second biggest club in Scotland.

    M.O.M Scott Brown

Overall a win is a win and 3 points bagged once again Izzi got done for the Dons goal and is a weak link but Efe on the other side is no better. The new bhoys all need time on the park to get up to match speed.Aberdeen were not a close to us in performance terms as the score would suggest. Unfortunately the Saltzburg game may well be on us to quickly good to see Broonie back he does make a difference. H.H.

  17. BigNan, from earlier

Many thanks for enlightening me on the Salmond/mason question. My fears are true and now I’m worried that Scotland will become more secretive/racist/sectarian as a result of a Yes vote and that is not a good thing in my book.

I love openness and frankness and sincerely hope that will prove the case and we can confine Masonics in all it’s forms to the history books where they belong.

Many thanks again and up the Fairykirk Roaders.

  18. I thought VVD was at fault for the goal rather than Izzy?? Amazing how many different opinions on here of the same game

  19. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

Telly showed Effe being assaulted but we should just ignore that and blame our players

  20. The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen…..mean sweet feck all to me……

Just as the sheep molesters used to sing of our Glasgow slums…..

Celtic are bigger than Scottish fitba……

Please get out of there Celtic .,,,,,SOON

  21. Joe Filippis Haircut on

the huddle. Watch the replay and you will see Izzy got skinned and the ball was then crossed he should have stopped the cross but he is no defender and will continue to cost us goals. H.H.

  22. Pleased after today

Little unsure of one striker in the league, SS looked very isolated

    HH

  23. King Lubo….

I wish to feck BIGNAN was a politician…..

I would vote for the first time in my life

  24. Denayer is a player and a half……

    Wish we could keep him

Man Shitty not Man Silly………just watch him star

  25. We’d probably be able to keep Denayer for at least another season, the issue might be that City will want to loan him to a better league (like another EPL team) to face better strikers.

  26. Quite content with today overall. Aberdeen under McInnes are unrecognisable from the team we used to thrash on a regular basis.

Great to see our captain back.

Craig Gordon proving to be a fantastic piece of business.

The new bhoys will need some time but all showed glimpses of class today.

Good to see Commons retrieve the dummy
