  1. In pub in Geneva. 7 screens with L’pool v City. One screen for the Tic . Large party of Irish supporting L’ pool FFS.

Bhoys are obviously suffering a hangover from Thursday night. The bottom line is though,

that Celtic playing at 60% are 1-0 up on the sheep who are playing at 100%.

Keep it going bhoys, any kind of win will do here.

    No card

*that sleekit pinocchio ovis aries loving bassa is looking for a reaction and unfortunately got one. He is one who has to be watched with his recent accusations and red card in the tunnel.

  4. Don’t think there are any drama queens here. We witnessed a tough competitive 45 minutes, in which Aberdeen had the better of us. We grabbed a goal against the run of play. Griffiths stood his ground and prevented Keeper coming for the ball and Jason who in my opinion was our best player for the half nodded it home.

Whether its Euro hangover or the fact that Aberdeen are playing particularly well is hard to say but this is a genuine contest and that’s the way it should be.

    Looking forward to 2nd half.

ps we were in lead in cup game at parkhead last year

    *and your point is

  6. Terrible first half but delighted with the lead.

    We can only improve.

    Ambrose a real worry

  7. So in-form Dons playing well – maybe even dominating.

Under par Tic struggling – maybe a bit lethargic.

    Celtic 1 Dons 0.

Score from the Champions Elect sounds about right to me!

Not at our best, can only play better in the 2nd half, especially with the confidence the goal hopefully brings……

Dunno how Considine never got booked for that tackle in the first place.

As an aside, I’m not keen on booing Logan everytime he touches the ball…. It’s done and dusted, move on. A bit ‘hun like’ behaviour for me…..

  9. Our Bhoys have very heavy legs today but still beating this shower, if we step up to the plate we will win by 3 clear goals.

Biggest danger is the ref sending of Broonie.

If JD hadn’t scored we should have had a penalty for VVD being brought down as the corner came in. Doubt we would have got it though.

BTW was Considine booked for that tackle which led to the spat with Flood and Broonie?

It was worse than either of VVD’syellows on THursday.

  11. Celtic looked very disjointed all over the park until the goal.

Dons were defending in numbers and breaking quickly.

Bitton not being allowed to play.

Improved after the goal, a bit.

    Interesting 2nd half ahead.

  12. Personally I am enjoying a top of the league clash with an Aberdeen in their best form in decade’s. The lads flew back in from Italy early Friday morning after an energy sapping 50 minutes at 10 men against Inter Milan. Today was always going to be hard work with tired legs, the opposition had a nice wee rest ahead of the game.

Some people seem to think that we have a god given right to dominate every team we play and win by several goals. I like to be a bit more realistic. So we are not playing the best football, I just think that the bhoys deserve a bit of slack after the last few days.

But by all means, spend 90 minutes on a football forum venting your spleen about how crap you think we are. Whatever floats your boat.

I will scroll past you, can I suggest you do the same with my posts… please?

Mon the Hoops, better second half please.

    Get another one early doors.

GMS still to find his feet.

  14. Replay shows VVD fouled at the corner and ref was looking straight at it.

Would he have awarded a penalty if we hadn’t scored?

  15. HT Celtic 1-0 Aberdeen

Well – it’s competitive football that wasn’t supposed to exist in Scotland any more. We have yet to get into top gear, but have done enough to score a goal and we have restricted Aberdeen to a couple of speculative attempts from long range.

The Bhoys seem to be struggling with heavy legs from their mid week exertions. Our midfield in particular are not really driving the pace of the game. Only Broonie has looked his usual lively self. Johansen, GMS, Armstrong and Biton need to do more. Leigh working as hard as ever up front but not getting any support. Defensively we have been solid. Efe doing well at left back, and our two centre backs are in control in the middle.

Great headed finish by Denayer from a brilliant corner by GMS(?). Griff did well to block the keeper advancing.

The referee having a bit of a ‘mare. It started with a poor decision not to book Willo Flood who deliberately fouled Efe when breaking up field, then booking Broonie when Flood fell on top of him when on the deck. To be fair, Griff should also have been booked.

Hopefully Ronnie will settle the Bhoys down at HT and we will take more control of the second half.

  16. Aberdeen played well, tactically well set up, we took a while to get to grips with that but like the Champions we are we scored when it was necessary:))

Looking forward to the second half…

  17. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

    Second best throughout.

Disconnect between midfield and front, putting pressure on defence, who are standing up well.

The goal cushion should help us settle into the game.

Brown has to be careful. Bitton needs to. Put his boots on the correct feet, his passing uncharacteristically poor.

GMS, Jo and Armstrong need to get on the ball. Looking/ hoping for better in the second half.

  18. Soz. I honestly didn’t see one out of order post. Maybe there was and it slipped my attention but all I see are genuine Celtic Supporters making honest accurate comments on how the game is progressing.

*was in the post office in Claddaghduff in Connemara one Sunday after Mass, it was the day after we had done the deid team 2-0 at the bigot dome and I had the Hoops on, heard this roar from next door which was the pub, a huge crowd was in there watching robbie fowler grabbing a hat trick against the arse, front two rows had wee boys wearing liverpool and arse tops.

Couple of days later I’m walking through Drogheda and there’s a wee boy wearing a leeds top.

have they all got short memories and forgotten Cromwell.

BTW on the way across the country I stopped the car and urinated in the boyne.

    Where to start?

Johansen and Bitton off their game making it difficult to control the game and/or bring gms and Griffiths into play.

McGinn has Matthews for pace. Beware.

Referee being appallingly permissive of Aberdeen, perhaps our biggest threat right now.

    Seconds out…

    Who is the mib please?

Name’s Beaton. A newcomer. Looks set for a glittering career in Scotland from what I’ve seen of him so far.

  22. Fortified by an orange juice and half time banana I’m ready for 2nd half.

Our defence is coping admirable now that Hayes has gone off

Where do they dig these ref’s up from? this one looks like he’d be out of place at a junior’s game.
