  1. Disappointing today were Bitton, Lustig and Brown.

Brown had looked like hitting top form but his last two games have dipped. I prefer him as a midfielder breaking forward rather than the holding mid.

Bitton has so much skill but is suppressed by being the man with the starting pistol. He did carry an enormous amount of ground today and his effort can’t be faulted. But when facing a 10 man defence packed into the last 1/4 of the pitch, he’s not the man we need.

Lustig. His lack of acceleration means that a reasonable winger will know how to get past him. He can’t get he vital block of the cross. He should have the experience to deal with this situation but too often he doesn’t. Performs much better as a centre back. That said, his height and heading ability helps to nullify the cross field ball and the one to the back post.

don’t know what it’s called – game management, passing the ball backwards too much, slowing the game down too much, arsing around – we’ve been getting it wrong this season which has cost us goals

  3. When Bomber Broon spouted that our last 3 titles are tainted because there was Nae Ranjurz in the league, he was talking crap.

But, now that Sevco are, and noone’s challenging the chasing 55, same club garbage, this one, if we win it, certainly will be.

But, as it’s a farce, who cares?

I think CG has less mobilty in his legs (as in distribution) than DV

Personally i think CG would have saved the shot fae Roo today but …

Gordon and myself determined not to go…he for your reasons above,me simply because I cannot stand to listen to their manky bastard supporters.

  6. Are the Scottish journo troupe finally seeing the reality of the league chase.

Tom English in his BBC report

Only four games into this league campaign and you have to wonder who in the Premiership has the capacity to silence this relentless Celtic attack. Their nearest challengers from the last two seasons were routed.

  8. Apologies but I’m a bit on/off here tonight.

Many, many thanks to those gallant posters who donated to the Minx and I, and the lurkers!!! BMCUW’s sisters, many thanks girls!

It is daft. I agree with you. the best Risk Assessment/Health and Safety (let’s try to avoid litigation) policy I came across stated that men with beards should wear snoods when using fax machines and opening filing cabinets. You have been warned.

Awe the whining and greeting face gits about the blatant “so surprising” cheating yesterday and today every Tim enjoyed themselves. Good! That’s the main thing

Do you want a good goalie or a goalie with good distribution ?

    Not allowed both :-)

    ===================

    Smiley thing noted.

However, in all seriousness, I haven’t seen enough of De Vries as a “goalie” to determine whether the mix he provides is better than Gordon.

I think he only had to punch one cross away. The rest of the time his hands weren’t required.

  12. Voguepunter

    Both very valid reasons.

Still remember that awful moment of silence before a roar emanated from them on the dreaded occasion of them scoring at Paradise, and headed towards us and our sickened stomachs.

But took it on plenty occasions.

Won’t take it while the pish is being extracted at the same time.

The young nephews and nieces have been posting stuff on that Facebook thing today, my good lady showed me a wee picture of Kieran’s teammates having a minutes silence, sad sad stuff, especially when there is no rhyme or reason, Leigh’ gesture was pretty special especially by all accounts he had already contacted the family…….

A sad loss for any family

As JNP regularly posts there are many worse off than any of us …..

On the football park, even under MON, I have never known old & young fans being so positive and optimistic, me, BR better get our best goalie back in goals :-) Craig Gordon No 1 CSC

On Cqn hopefully always a smiley thing……. I remember De Vries with Dunfermilne, but BR likes players he can trust which is any managers job

As long as we keep winning I don’t care if Doris Day was in the nets :-)

Well he may have. I would point out that his lack of footwork was the reason Gordon didn’t save the header midweek. So maybe he wouldn’t have,

Nevertheless, this is a team which has the mentality of “score more than the opposition”. Scoring goals requires you retain the ball wherever possible, which means not launching the ball up the park in hope.

I’ve no axe to grind with Gordon, he remains a great keeper. But I can see what the manager is trying to implement and De Vries certainly seems to fit the profile ahead of Gordon.

  16. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jimmynotpaul, my pals and I stayed in the Bender Hotel in Dortmund . The hotel’s name amused us and others , immensely.

I did emphasise to people the Bender is a German surname , Lars and Sven Bender come to mind, but they never believed me.

That Dortmund trip gave me the worst hangover I have ever had. Drinking Dortmunder Actien Bier for over eight hours .

The bhoy’s initials are S McG. He is a top tim, you will get on brilliantly with him. He went with the Hippo up to Dingwall last Saturday.

I hope you are keeping well.

  17. GG. 8.53

To be fair to Tom English , he stated similar last night on Shortbread prior to the Killie game.

Richard Gough who is seemingly some form of ambassador for deid fitba teams was giving it big licks regarding a title challenge from zombies.

Tom English explained to Gough that come the last month of the season , Celtic would be all alone at the top with Aberdeen likely to be the only team visible , in the rear view mirror.

Gough was stunned into silence. :-))))

  18. GERRYFAETHEBRIG…

TBJ got barred, hopefully it will be lifted soon and he will be back on, miss his cheeky banter.

    He’s a stubborn bassa though.

Thinking about missing posters, MickTT…. Where are you, it’s happy days, give it a shark jump and get back on.

  19. GFTB

Cheers fella! Has been a good day, did a good run, cooked a great casserole with enough left over for a freezer meal later on, saw the Hoops win , my lhad watched the game in Saigon and we had a chat as well, and even got the correct score! As ever the correct score was fecked with my option for Sinclair for first goal scorer, ah well…. Life is still good.

    Family first, Celtic family thereafter.

I will seek him out on Tuesday. I presume you get the English bank holiday too.

I have to admit 18months ago I had never heard the grace song.

Then once I did. It’s my first hit every time I go to YouTube.

If the green brigade did special requests.that was mines.

    It was actually quite wonderful.

Grace is my good ladies favourite song, I thought I knew the history but Clogher Celt put a link up last year I think about 30min video, for a song I have loved for about 30yrs in that 30mins I learned so much more, no hatred at all ….but pretty special

  26. Hadn’t even heard of “Grace” until today. My mate, who knows many an Irish ballad, was singing along and he reckons it is one of the best. Just listened to the Dubliners’ version. Now, they’re giving “Athenry” big licks. Beautiful stuff. More please, GB.

  27. Another good reason to celebrate the two week break is that it gives the GB even more time to produce even more banners to remind the undead that they are a different shite with the same flies attached.

Great result in a difficult fixture.
