we’ll play better football than thems during the game but will we keep a clean sheet – probs not, then it can eithjer way

  2. VFR @ 7.56

I thought that the SB / NB duet kept the ball were totally devoid of creativity in the first half.

TR did not help himself with a slow start to the game but the “Duet” we’re not for giving him the ball. He then shows and starts to get the ball from NB and the game changes.

Thought some of the Sheep tackling was very aggressive, agricultural and targeted.

KMcL was probably the worst but he was not the only one.

We need to deal with this quicker on the park.

We had the quality and it showed.

However we need to develop a better on field vibe.

Playing pat-a-cake with the ball just shows our lack of confidence and leadership.

There were a couple of passages of play involving SB in the second half where the crowd and his teammates turned against his continual lack of vision or direction as he passed the ball backwards at every opportunity.

Then ML tried to out do him with terrible passing.

The Sheep were not good enough to punish us but others will.

Good result but lots of stuff to do.

New blood is required in at least two positions.

Looking at big money for a CM and loan deal for a RB.

  3. I know Livibhoy is very busy at work and posts when he can.

Hope the job is going great!

Ps the closing date is October 23rd. We’ve been working on a bit of a crib sheet to help people fill it in and I hope to be able to post it on here in the next few days.

    Thanks for asking T.

You mock but if some eejit did set out the glasses and attempted that feat with his/her bike and injured himself/herself then it’s not outside the bounds of possibility in this day and age that the said eejit could successfully take legal action against the company responsible for the programme if they didn’t issue such warnings or if they did but someone was hard of hearing and the on-screen lettering wasn’t deemed large enough.

Ooops, that does it, a couple of spokes have gone and I’ve a bruised arm. Not much but there’s bound to be serious post-traumatic disorder. I can feel it coming on already. Get the producers on the phone.

You’re probably right, although possible that it would never happen I am sure the ITV lawyers were all over it.

Still think it was funny and daft .

  11. Dallas.

    Glad you’ve on.

I caught up with your post to me about Dortmund the next day, it gave me a good chuckle.

Now remind me sir. When you were in Dortmund did you stay the night with a bender or two. :-))))))).

When the draw came out Real, Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon, I really thought it was fated for us to join them, however the draw we have is pretty special too.

Are you at liberty to give me the initials of the good tim who has joined my work from yours. We have taken on loads of new staff so I will try and introduce myself, if I can work out who he is.

    Hail Hail.

  12. 50 shades of green on

Whit happened to the stauning up thing?

Seemed to me that the GB Bhoys started a song just before 15 mins and it never materialised, or was i still delirious after Lees 13th min wonder goal and missed it?

  13. To the poster who was moaning about those who could, but won’t, attend the Rangers(sic) game.

(I keep getting logged out on here when I go back a page or two, so not able to go back to check your moniker )

It’s not because Rangers cheated that I won’t be going, it’s because due to their cheating they ran up over 100 million quids worth of debt, which they only managed to escape by not being Rangers.

Yet, now that the debt is gone, they claim to be the same club, with the support of those who administer the game and the silence of clubs, including ours, adding to that support.

The 1986 Insolvency Act (prohibited names section) is ignored, and we are supposed to accept that Rangers as you call them, much to their delight, i’d imagine, have won 13.5 top tier titles in each year of their existence.

So I’ll go back when our club defends itself against this insult to everyone’s intelligence, and calls out this fucking farce for what it is.

    Hail! Hail!

On 72mins at St Johnstone last weekend the away fans sang Grace, even back in the day I never heard it sang (even in the Beech End at pittodrie) long may it continue, beautiful and inspiring

  15. At the game today and I’m surprised at the number of people who are saying they weren’t impressed by De Vries’ distribution.

One bad one, which certainly could have led to a goal but for Toure being so good. A few which didn’t quite find their target, but who is capable of delivering 40yard passes with 100% accuracy.

What I liked was the intention of the distribution. Playing football from the back. Attracting the opposition to come out of their own half and create spaces for us to exploit.

Something which Craig isn’t capable of. Excellent keeper though he is.

  16. BB @ 8.26

Do you hate the TFOD2 more than you love the club?

Have you bought a season ticket and are going to boycott the TFOD2 game?

  17. H.T.

    You’re welcome.

I agree with you about completion, but there is no doubt that its been devised in such a way to make people give up half way through.

MOONBEAMSWD ‘STAND UP ON 15 FOR THE GB’ on 27TH AUGUST 2016 8:26 PM

Loved the GB singing ‘Grace’ today. Hair standing on back of neck stuff.

Agree mhate ,haunting song …tears not far away.

  19. Man of the match, Tom Rogic. Sometimes I just marvel at how he has the ball when logic dictates he should have been dispossessed.

The shot he crashed off the bar, the feet and the pass for Forrest. The way he lets the ball come across his body and nullifies the player trying to tackle (Kenny Dalglish was the master exponent of this art), being the centre forward to take the pass from Roberts late in the game (fouled to prevent him from getting in on goal), the free kick.

Yes, a full game for the second time this season.

It’s a joy to watch that is surpassed only by Patrick Roberts.

Do you want a good goalie or a goalie with good distribution ?

    Not allowed both :-)

  21. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Philbhoy, loads of good posters have stopped posting unfortunately. Two of my favourites, Noel90 and the marvellous philvisreturns were top notch.

I also Edwardrus, despite being a fan of the first Ibrox club, I enjoyed reading his posts.

Terrific result today for us. We laboured a bit in the second half but that was only to be expected after Tuesday’s exertions.

I saw Nir walking over to the bottom of the North Stand with a Celtic top which he gave to a young fan. Its good to see player and fan connection . Kolo threw his top into the front of the standing section.

Leigh’s tribute to Kieran McDade was as outstanding as his goal. My thoughts and good wishes to the McDade family at this tragic time .

  22. No, I won’t watch them play in the farce that is Scottish football, which ignores any notion of honesty, fairness or sporting integrity.

I mean, the champions league has its faults, but I don’t see any teams that have never won it or its predecessor claiming to have done so.

Why would they? They’d be a laughing stock.

A laugh that would reach a crescendo if UEFA then came out and altered their records to back them up, while Real Madrid etc say fuck all about it.

It’s a farce, pure and simple, and I won’t be buying in to it until the club challenges the nonsense.

I think competition between Gordon and Devr-ies can help improve both players and can only be good for Celtic.H.H.

    Missed the first goal.

  25. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jimmynotpaul, thanks for the update on Luke Donnelly.

It will be good for Luke’s confidence after his long term injury to score today.

Alloa , despite being accused of always cheatin by some mad sevs, seem to be a well run club. Their chairman, Mike Mulraney , always comes across well.

Luke won’t be the loan Celt (sorry about that one) with Jason Marr, Kevin Cawley, jack Breslin and another of our ex players at Recreation Park.

  26. Not sure that I would enjoy a keeper playing it out carefully from the back when we’re up against our current CL opponents.

The ball might be in the back of our net within 10 seconds :-(

  27. H/T,

Hope your efforts were rewarded today. As far as I could see there was no one distributing in Janefield Street.

Philbhoy and Dallas Dallas, you mention some of the great contributors to this blog. Oh that those who could would make a comeback. They were a joy to read on many many an occasion.

  28. Been watching a bit of football today.

Watched about twenty minutes of the BMG tonight and they looked very good, according to the comms ream they are well placed to challenge but not go beyond Bayern and Dortmund. A cracking stadium with a loud and boisterous support as well.

Man Ure looked dull and effective, surprised?

We were exciting at times and very vulnerable at times, going to be fun at Celtic Park this season.

Enjoyed the game today. Pretty good showing after the tough midweek game. Tom Rogic gets better and better. Such quick feet for a big guy.

Good to meet St Stivs, VFR and Dan from Milan. I thought he was arriving in a van.

Also nice to see TBJ, weefra, Dena and the usual reprobatea today. Last shout to the winklepicker sisters, I passed your donation to the minx.

    Top of the league. Smashing.
