  1. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jimmynotpaul, we do , thankfully . My cherubs are at school so I can get peace and quiet in the house and take my good lady wife out for lunch.

I have a sev working close to me. He was mouthing off at me about how stupid we were flying the flags Uefa don’t like when we have an Israeli in our team. He was making an a@@e of himself. I had to stop myself replying , how stupid they were singing eff the pope when they had Catholics in their team.

He’s a sev who likes to tell people , he doesn’t wear green.

  2. Saw earlier today that someone was being press ganged into cleaning the oven? It may have been Jobo but am not sure.

A few years ago I was told that cleaning ovens was “mans work” my Mrs told me that her sister had paid two guys a lot of money to clean her oven and it looked fantastic.

Now, here is how to deal with this notion.

1- buy some oven cleaning foam from BnQ or the likes, retain in car boot.

2- make sure wife/partner/ significant other is out of house for a few hours

3- buy large pack of Brillo Pads and spout off loudly and often ,at cost of them

4- ensure wife etc.. Is out of house for at least 4 hours

5- when house is empty, spray oven cleaning foam in oven, switch on oven and watch telly for three hours.

6- after 3 hours, take several Brillo pads , wet them and rub furiously against brick wall for 5 minutes. Leave them very visible in kitchen bin.

7- take empty container of Oven cleaning foam and dispose of in neighbours bin. In exceptional cases a two house radius may be used.

8 – await return of wife/ partner etc..

9 – act casual, as if nothing was out of the ordinary. This may require practise.

10- await verdict of wife/partner etc..

The true beauty of this plan is that the foam will clean the oven, but not too well. Ensuring you will get brownie points for trying but will never be asked to do this job ever again. A bit like the Deila experiment at Celtic.

It’s not going to plan, by now the fixtures should have presented the new club top of the league on 12.

We at best 4 or 5, difference potentially 7 running into the 10th.

Overall summary you can’t (a) compensate for excellence or (b) them being ulter pish, which is nice :0)

  4. Grace Gifford married Joseph Plunkett shortly before his execution in Killmainham prison in 1916. The song ‘Grace’ has been sung in the Vogue Bar for years.

Parkheadcumsalford, sorry for my delay in replying.

The good posters who no longer post , were informative, humourous and diplomatic. Any disagreements , in most cases , were dealt with , in a civil manner.

Four Green Fields , I’m glad you still use your great sign off on your posts.

The SFA have done no end of damage to our game with their pandering and lack of governance.

Koeman says he won’t allow McCarthy to leave @Everton this window. Might need groin op also which wd appear to knock @celticfc move on head.

  7. Well done to the much maligned Calum McgRegor who when he came on as sub we seemed to start passing forward with short sharp easy passing nothing to showy just simple stuff that gave us forward momentum & regained the initiative from Aberdeen. Problem is Calum can do it as SPL level but found wanting though against better sides

  8. The bould Brendan is clearly a motivator and a good man-manager. However, having said that, I found his comments praising the distribution of today’s keeper slightly bizarre. Virtually every time he booted the ball up the park (particularly in the second half) it resulted in Aberdeen gaining possession. Gordon’s distribution at Perth last week was far better.

  9. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gerry, there was a banner in the top tier today, in memory of a young girl, Niree, who passed away recently. I think he surname was Johnstone.

The scoreboard also had a message about Niree.

There were a few tweets on e tims and Celtic Underground twitter about it.

  10. Whit’s that joke about the guy who’s been Robinson Crusoe’d for years on a desert island, when he sees someone struggling in the sea, and it turns out to be Cindy Crawford?

  11. May67

Agreed. Although most times he recieved a pass back it was under pressure.

I was really surprised by his lack of distance in kick outs for a pro keeper. One of my major failings as a keeper.

It still surprises me to watch keepers jumping to collect a ball in a crowded box without a knee up. Has that been banned by the rule making fraternity.

If I were to change a rule in football however it’d be the obstruction by defenders to let ball run out of plastic. I know it’s not a rule per say but it’s accepted as norm. Anywhere else on field it’d be a foul and likely booking.

    Make defenders play the ball.

  12. As I said last night any win today would be a good win. 4-1 slightly flattered us. 3 league games 3 wins 10 for and 4 against against arguably our 3 toughest opponents. Thankfully a weeks rest before the build up to the old firm bigotfest.

  13. Oh, aye, after doing the Kama Sutra x2 for a few days once Cindy has got desperate enough, he asks her to put on his sailor’s uniform, which he was wearing when his ship went down, walk to the end of the beach, and start walking slowly towards him.

She thinks, ” Kinky, but a bit of harmless variety, we could be here a while, after all”, so agrees.

As she approaches him,he runs up to her and shouts, “haw mate, guess who ah’m shaggin’!”.

  14. And still we wait for our brave custodians to make an announcement that the world is not flat and the team we will be playing have not won 54 titles. How difficult is it to state the truth ?

Grace has been sung in our local since tar was still hot on the pavements, I have had that song on my wedding/funeral list for 30years, some that sing it don’t realise the actual truth (me) Clogher Celts link was pretty dam amazing, an eye opener for all the other stuff…… Joseph Plunkett was a pretty amazing character but like most of us men there is always a better lady to make sure we are ok which is Grace Gifford

It will be interesting on 10/9 to see what “history” is assigned to our opponent in the programme.

  18. Great result.Coming back from CL and playing our biggest rivals, scoring 4 goals, yet some still want to lay it on to their whipping boys.Broony and Biton, where supposedly bad today in their eyes, yet the Dons had one attempt on target in a match they really needed to at least draw.Thank God BR picks the team and sees the whole game, not one or two bad passes, which seems to relegate certain players on here to crap.

Top of the league from here on in.Fantastic start with all the games and stress we have had.

  19. Barry Ferguson has advice for Celtic players regarding Champions League

By the way as well as Grace ….. Four Green Fields would also be a great choon for our fans, no hatred just from the heart and inspirational

Was lucky enough to have heard it when pished, told by an able gagmeister. Could not stop laughing.

Gerry, I got my copy of Not the View on Janefield Street. Even nearly thirty years since it’s first edition, its still very enjoyabe to reac . Ithad the occasional articleinby posters on here.

As I made my way along Janefield Street, I could hear some children siningGlasgow’s Green and White.

It was the children taken to today’s game by the Kano Foundation. I had a lump in my throat as I passed them. The children all looked so happy to be going to the game.

Going by the high visibility vests some had on, tney were from Our Holy Redeemer primary in Clydebank.

Delaney’s would be really proud of them.

    Who cares ????

I know, you know and the sevconians know, no need for PL or DD to tell me what I already know

The more it annoys you the more the vindicate the cheats

    Enjoy the good times :-)

  24. Fourgreenfields

Had been thinking of you and a few other posters who’s names that have sadly been missing for awhile and as much as it was brilliant bumping into you today and seeing that you are well……..it has been the cherry on the cake to see that name of yours on here once again.

Spoke to quite a few today that stay away for pretty much the same reason but i feel all you’s are doing is letting others change what you love whereas if you’s all kept posting the posh that goes on would be diluted, at the very least.

  25. Gftb The song Grace was penned in 1985. Grace Gifford a protestant was elected to the Sinn Fein executive in 1917.

  26. Gftb I care and history will care. I am part of the Celtic story. Not attending the game on 10/9 is important to me. Hh

    Well since I was a kid……

Again if Clogher Celt ever puts the video up there are plenty of discrepancies with some of the words, maybe 1985 feels like 30yrs ago I don’t use google….it’s still an amazing song and powerful words, and even more powerful when you find out the full story about Jospeh Plunkett as well as Grace

  28. Grace. Another great song murdered (sic) by the GB. Not really meant to be sung as a party tune with an attention-seeking drum battering away behind it.
