Watched the game on my laptop last night. Scottish Sun headline has Sammie getting kicked in the head with the headline take that. Not even a booking so we know what to expect the rest of the season. One reason we need a bigger squad in the SPL. Fair play to the sheep they set out a game plan and nearly came away with a point. Early season so will try not to make too much out of izzy and kayals poor form or the lack of firepower in our centre forwards. Stoke and Hooper were never in the game , our only threat to goal was from commons and then Paddy when he came on and changed the game. Good change of formation by Neil Lennon going to 3-4-3 and slotting Wildon in who did a fair job cleaning up anything coming his way. Rogne looked the most suspect at the back but they didn’t give away anything and kept a clean sheet. Another one on Wednesday will help our European season. Wanyama looked a player all right wasted in the back four imo. Great strength and a good eye for a cutting pass. Sammie played well enough but the mugging he took with the boot straight to the head must have unsettled him. For me , we need to get in and try another centre forward, a penalty box player as we will have lots of possession but need a poacher to finish the play. Please that Chis C’s least effective shot somehow bobbled in but would not have been chucking in anything if they had held us out. Hoping their neighbours in Peterhead can go one better next week. Quietly confident about Wednesday , ragtops can say anything they wish the only place that matters is on the field and I think that the Celtic players linked up well in position in the first two thirds of the park. Last word the support was loud and clear with the Team Green Brigade going for it.
Kiwi’s sitting above Oz on the medals table, for now, which is a bit of a laugh for us with our cuzzies in the west island. There news channels won’t even show the medal table with NZ. Great results for team GB some special athletes over achieving , hopefully they will keep the gold coming and give the UK a lift.

The great man’s ways and methods were tried, and tried again…but unfortunately to no avail.
Neil Lennon expects a change of approach from his opposite number Antti Muurinen this week. “They are a good side at home and they will be more attack-minded,” Lennon said. “They changed their system last week but they will go back to the way they normally play, a 4-4-2 or with just one off the striker. Their wide men come in to make it narrow and they try to get their width from their full-backs. Playing on that surface may make me think about how we approach the game tactically. It is a huge game and has been in the forefront of my mind since the end of May. So there is a lot resting on Wednesday, for me personally to take the team on and the players themselves to enhance the season for themselves.”
The Northern Irishman is still searching for a centre-half and a centre-forward during this window and knows Champions League cash would come in handy. Bringing in another central defender would help free Victor Wanyama to take up a midfield berth which Lennon feels is his more natural home. “Victor gives me food for thought each game,” he said. “But generally I’d use Victor in midfield, all things being equal. I think he’s come back even better than last year although it’s very early days.”
Morning Celts, long day yesterday I really dislike those non 3pm kick offs, a good crowd at CP yesterday enjoyed the day and the singsong, football wise it could be better and will have to be if we’re going to progress in Europe.

Good morning fellow Celts. Grey skies over Renfrewshire.
It was great to see Sean Fallon fly the flag yesterday. That was special and well done to the man who made the decision to invite him along in his 90th year. Sean is a living legend of the highest order and I made sure mini was fully aware of his contribution to Celtic. That was not a short convesation…

3 points in the bag from disciplined but stubborn Dons team.Gave us a few scares but we were on top for most of the game.
One could describe our current style of play as ‘Tantric Fitba’: Seems to go on forever, but no penetration :0)
Big F Forster: not challenged much and dealt with most situations well. Still a little hesitant on high balls -flapped at one that could have cost us a goal in second half.
Adam Matthews: seemed subdued and not forward as much as I would have liked. Not a lot of delivery to front
Tam Rogne: See he is getting a wee bit of stick from some but I felt he handled situations well and cleared his lines with minimum of fuss. A ‘player’ in my view.
Vic67: Everthing about this man says ‘player’. Athletic strong, reasonable pace and thinks about the game. Starting in centre back role won his share of high balls and only let a few go stray to opponents (a Celtic CB foible over the years). When Wilson came on he stepped forward and the game changed Celtic began to play with more drive and we started creating opportunities.
Izzy: Thought..he’s doing well in there beside Beram winning tackles and driving forward …thankfully the Dons were unable or unwilling to exploit the huge gaps he was leaving behind him. Expect him to grow back into his role and we will see the quality coming through -if he made a cross in the entire game I missed it.
Kris Commons: felt he was giving ball away too often v Helsinki and he let a few loose passes go v Dons too, however, he was a threat and looked the more lively and likely scorer. I doubt if he is 100% match fit.
Beram : has bags of ability we just need to see it!
Joe Ledley : solid and worked v hard would never be out of my team -in a straight choice with Broonie I would take Joe every time.
Sammi: was subdued after he took boot in the chops….prior to that he looked up for the game and gives us that driving quality we so badly need
Ghoops: in flashes he demostrated what he can do began to run deep to pick up the ball later in game and was making nice touches and lay-offs, seemed to benefit from the substitutions. First half he had a ship’s anchor tied to his legs. Zero movement and I will say again, he doesn’t give enough to the cause.
Stokesy: Good grief son! If you enjoy being a Celt as much as you should you need to get off yer backside. Some token bursting runs but mainly static.
Subs :
Kelvin: was tidy and some neat passing
Paddy: had a bit longer to show what he can do and it made a big difference. The crowd perked up and so did the team. I wish to god there was a way to fit him into the team.
Daryl Murphy: worked hard and seemed to provoke a response from gHoops and got involved and has a physical presence.. but.. seems ponderous.
Overall: 3 points on another day we would have dropped 2 or even 3. The team seemedto have an eye on Helsinki which is niot good. The lack of movement up front when the game is being squeezed is very, very frustrating to watch. If I was a defender playing against Celts I would bother packing my towel or shower gel.

I have taken her to loads of Celtic games over the years and has grown to understand what the Celtic family means and loves the match day experience. We got some great photos in and around the Park. She posted them on FB. She had to take them down last night due to the unbelievable abuse she received. I’m not surprised a bit but she was totally shocked. Well here we are , another season and this one Hun free
But where are our club?
Over the last 4-5 years the lack of investment has now come home to roost
Bring on Daryl Murphy and Kelvin Wilson should have alarm bells ringing
But sadly the situation now is indeed we must tighten our belts
The opportunity to create income with automatic entry for the CL for SPL champions is no more
We had the opportunity to push the boat out and invest back on Tommy burns Thursday , this was ignore and with a shocking” willo window” that followed that our squad went backwards at an alarming rate and the CL income went elsewhere
Those decision , which were wrong, have cost our club dearly and he 2nd half appearance of messers Murphy and Wilson are the result of that policy
Where to now, well if we are cost cutting surely we should be removing an employee responsible for those decisions and that employee is earning EPL wages
My view is we are where we are because our CEO main Kpi did not include buying when the time was right 4 years ago
What I would you right now?. Remove lawell ( saying. Sorry we can’t afford you) and sell Kim for what we can get for him and give all all the money to Neil to help him improve his squad to ensure we don’t see murphy again
What do I think will happen? We will sell Ki and Neil will get a fraction of that money and the rest of the money will go to Peter lawells salary and bonus
