I am very judgemental, and as a result, find it easy to pass judgment on him ?

↑ Depression is a disease, not a sin.

Dante doesn’t mention anything about depression.

  3. Last season we played Rosenburg with no recognised striker (LG came on as sub late in 2nd leg). We had Jozo and Kris at centre half at home (KA’s first game for us there) and Jozo and Erik started away (Erik got injured early on and Bitton replaced him). Ntcham was new and finding his feet at the club.

This season we will have a strike partnership of Moussa and Eddy (or Eddy alone if Moussa is injured), a massive upgrade on last year up front. Ntcham is now an integral part of the midfield and Cal Mac is in the form of his life, again a massive upgrade on last season. Defence is at worst the same as last season when we played them, we didn’t lose a goal in 180 minutes.

We should beat Rosenburg more comfortably than we did last season. Nothing is guaranteed, we are playing competitive cup ties as part of our pre season and that is always going to be a risk no matter who’s avaialble or who’s signed, but we are getting used to this and year on year improving and being more ready for this time of year.

Assuming the Hibees don’t suffer a catastrophic collapse in their game against NSI Runavik tonight, then all four Scottish clubs participating in European football will take part in the second phase of the two competitions. Can any statto’s tell me the last time we (Scottish Clubs) managed that feat?

  5. Pretty sure some of these posts are cut and pastes from last summer and the summer before and the summer before that.

“we look like we’re still in pre-season”

    Eh that’s because we are.))

    Whit a plum..

I think our trips into the CL group stages will help you answer that question.

How come Aberdeen are drwn v epl side yet sevco , after their 1q round triumph get one of two lesser sides.Surely the dons have a higher ranking

  8. Just popped in to say a brilliant performance last night. Shame about Jozo, but them’s the breaks. Popping out again. HH

He would if he had to read the ole begrudgery on here the day.

Anyways, only unflounced myself at request of excellent CQNer ole Lennybhoy.

I’m really concerned about Rosenborg. They stormed to victory lasy night.

And our defence’s poor showing against Alashkert, thats gota be a concern.

Ok we are minus the two World-cup participants, who were never, ever identified by CQNers as the Hoops weakest link.

All about opinions of course, but sometimes “half empty” doesnt really describe this place.

  11. Hunderbirds are Gone on

The correct spelling of the Norwegian team that we play in the next round of the CL is Rosenborg. Rosenborg sound like a very much more worthy opponent, deserving of meticulous planning and effort than (Rosen) BURG, or (Rosen) BERG.

To me BURG has connotations of a peaceful, Germanic settlement from gentler times. BERG on the other hand makes me think of course, of an Iceberg, serenely navigating the Polar seas.

The BORG, on the other hand are a malevolent hive force of physically enhanced, powerful, killing machines. Not for nothing is their catchphrase, “Resistance is Futile”.

Aye, I am wary of the (Rosen) BORG

No in the Ludge, they don’t…

  13. Whether joso was sent off or not , it shows how we are in the same position as we were this time last season . Why oh why can’t we sign a quality centre half , BR or whoever is in charge of signings ,is taking one hell of a gamble here. Tell you what , Brendan no doubt is a top coach , but some of the signing that have come in to the club have not been celtic material . The ban for joso , which was harsh , throws up a problem , just as plastic pitches do . He misses a lot of game time per season . The team is always getting tampered with , chopped and changed , playing guys out of there natural positions . Right back is another problem area , and believe me that gives me no satisfaction to say that , Mikel gets us ,he has been a star for us ,but too many injuries and age catching up a bit . I can’t understand why with the rewards that await in Europe for our club , that we are not building a team capable of going far in Europe . For gods sake get quality defenders in and in now please .

  14. Madrebmacs Grandpa on

Very competent performance last night. We looked like “contenders “. Running off the ball, forward movement and overall pace of our play very encouraging. Inexplicable “tackle” for the sending off. I’m encouraged !

  15. If we dominate possession against Rosenborg, like we did in the 2nd leg last season, then we will win the tie over 2 legs . We are fitter than last season , a year more established as a team & have more of a goal threat .

You heard it here first. From someone who is always fearful in Europe .

We have improved as a team .

    Don’t panic .

  16. Bournes whilst of course you are being sarcastic it’s a fair question around what exactly is our net spending again this year. We are awash with cash and we are again in profit for our transfers. We again have a problem at centre back. That’s over two years. We again haven’t strengthened ahead of qualifiers (our most critical part of the season) and whilst it does feel the team are better prepared this year there are no guarantees and we should have addressed our weaknesses.

And as for Casandra well I have come to accept that the vast majority of Celtic supporters would be very happy being cheated, colluding with hunnery and are quite fine with their seat at the back of the bus. But I’m not.
