    Davido..,

I can complain, izzy was fouled and Dembele should have got a penalty so we go cheated

  2. patmcgrathtakesapenalty on

Ruthlessness on the domestic scene from now until the end of the season: take no prisoners; be imperious.

There is enough in this squad to have done well if placed in another group. It augurs well for next season.

The winners without any doubt? The crowd at Celtic Park: outstanding, unrivalled support.

  3. FT 0-2

Good first half and start to second but once penalty went in we looked more about damage limitation.

They have the skill set but are full of gamesmanship.

We do not have a team to compete at this level yet but some encouraging signs.

  4. Apart from being a diving, playacting, cheating, lying back stabbing little fun haircuts gobshite I am struggling to find a thing to dislike about Neymar can anyone help

  5. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Proud of the bhoys tonight. Played great football at times. Not many teams will get 40% possession against Barca. How far Brendan has taken us in a short time. Pity about Scotty Sinclair. Injuries starting to become a problem.

  6. mike in toronto on

so … 3 points behind BMG, with an 8 goal differential (in their favour) ….

we’ve made our money, and gained some experience ….

time to focus on the treble.

  7. We will get another bite at the cherry against them next season as they will no doubt be in our CL group anyway.

DUBAIBHOY (NEE LONDONBHOY) on 23RD NOVEMBER 2016 9:40 PM

Ah well. Another frustrating night. We had them rattled at the start of the 2nd half. They strolled it after their penalty.

Sometimes the only way to get a wee rat like Neymar sent off is to make a meal of it. If lustig had stayed down at either the barge in the back or the reckless tackle from behind he would have been off.

We need to be smarter in Europe.

    ==================================================================

    Yes.

The current tactic is lie down and roll around.

    Neymar would probably been off.

  9. Yip, it was a pen, Moussa was clipped from behind, never in a thousand brown envelopes were we getting it.

We are an honest club, we pay our dues, we don’t owe anyone anything, they cheat us on and off the park, yet we can hold our heads up as high as any club on the planet.

Well done Celtic, proud to call masel a Celtic supporter.

  10. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

No shame in the result or performance.

We have come a long way in a short time and the future looks good.

We now have the time and space to consolidate our domestic superiority and prepare for the qualifiers.

  11. Thanks for all the updates bhoys, need to text the wee mhan

now with the score as he’s just started his school classes, wouldn’t

like to be his teacher today :-((

  12. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

We’ are on the right road. Very well played, Very pleased. Now for a budget.

  13. The biggest lesson tonight for the Boys and for Brendan is that you have to be ruthless at this level, ruthless in front of goal.

Moussa will be and I really hope it is with us.

Progress in Europe for sure and we will be back next year, bigger, braver, louder and more ruthless:))

  14. Gerryfaethebrig on

Broony was magic, we weren’t at their level, personally, BR is doing a great job, I never liked getting beat but this team is progressing, roll on Sunday

Jimbob71, I very rarely post on the updates but was replying to Melbourne Mick, would love a wee gab about fit a back in the day (you might have the wrong Gerry there is hunners of us)

By the way any of the punters there tonight give yourself a wee back slap, the 67min light up the phone stuff was amazing (on the telly) big Sutton who I loved as a player, sometimes not my favourite punter (Ronny) but realise he does speak his mind…… Well you Celtic Fans with your phone lights on in the 67th min big Sutty says “people who have never played here will never know, mahesh fans love the Lisbon Lions”

    Hail Hail

  15. Team were great tonight – though for one or two this is clearly a big step up.

    Fans were absolutely fantastic.

Disappointment was Sinky injury. Hoping he’s OK for the weekend…

  16. ‘GG

Yep Broony superb. Player of the year.

If only he was ten years younger !

Still tough, this Celtic team have some good days ahead of them in the next few years.

  17. Glad we didn’t just send back and applaud them tonight.

Have a feeling we will see the benefit of this years painful lessons in next years competition?

    Win or learn.

Our disappointing EL campaign under Lenny gave the team experience and we were a better team in the CL for that in the seasons that followed.

Better players and more experience , next year we would hope we will do better.

  18. patmcgrathtakesapenalty on

Keep our heads up and break all the records there are to break in the domestic league and cups.

  19. I’m signing off, with hope in my heart !

There’s more to come from this Celtic side and the fans have shown the world what we’re all about.

  20. I’m disappointed we lost tonight but I’m really upbeat about Celtic at the moment.

We were poor in Europe under Ronny, not helped by downsizing, and when we lost against Red Imps on the Spanish Rock, I reckoned the Europa League ought to be the summit of our expectations this year.

Brendan has done wonders in a very short space of time. He has energised the team, instilled them with belief and who’d have thought we could play against Barca tonight the way we did, considering the 7-0 drubbing only a couple of months ago.

I’m glad we don’t have European football after Christmas. Brendan now has a chance to build a team with some January acquisitions and a relatively stress-free run-in to the league.

    Onwards and upwards.

    Faithful through and through.

  21. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well once again a debt ridden club full of highly paid actors divers and cheats leave Celtic park with the 3 points in the bag. Celtic played well but will never compete with the so called super clubs as there is a different mentality at Parkead more of an old style pay your way and play in a sporting manner it will never catch on but we Celtic supporters can be proud of our club. H.H.

  22. GG

Thanks I knew I had forgotten something.

As for Suarez well I will leave him with the thought that eternal damnation awaits and in this case I do hope hell mends him.

  23. Some great performances from some of the hoops. Not happy with the starting selection.I hate really slagging any celtic player, but Mc gregor was a man short tonight. Not the boys fault,he is not good enough for this level.I know Biton gets pelters on here from some, but he could have been used tonight.Broony never had a breath left after the first 70 mins when he covered everything on the park.He needs help, which BR knows, and will hopefully remedy in January.Messi is what he is,the greatest on the planet. No one can mark him for 90 mins.50 million pound players cant.We will be better next year.

Moussa done well,2 chances 2 on target.Anyway happy we never got humped and done well.On to City now.

  24. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

Fox commentator spots teeth pull izzy said arm aroundnd him pulling him over and calls it intelligent play, not cheating, intelligent play

  25. ‘STARRY PLOUGH on 23RD NOVEMBER 2016 9:48 PM

The biggest lesson tonight for the Boys and for Brendan is that you have to be ruthless at this level, ruthless in front of goal.’

The biggest lesson for tonight is that cheats prosper..

  26. GFTB

    How you doing mate?

Some fine performances all over the pitch tonight. Broonie was excellent, Armstrong played very well.

  27. Not happy but proud.

We tried our best against the best club side of the last ten years.

I am not being emotional or full of “tartan army” shite.

The better team won, we move on and it starts in Lenoxtown tomorrow, prepare properly and we will win the treble.

Ignore the cheap shots from MSM and unfortunately our own supporters .

Family first, Celtic second and the rest can go forth and multiply.

    Hail! Hail!

  28. No need to feel downhearted.

There’s been a remarkable turn around with Brendan.

A couple of signings to improve midfield and we will progress next season.

I think Armstrong is developing with Brendan and can provide a solid creative platform with Captain Courageous.

    The future is bright.

  29. dr ramesh and the love potion on

Perspective. We’ve come on leaps and bounds in a short time. Some players need to learn to react quicker to succeed at this level but in general we are passing and holding the ball better than ever at this level.

    There were some real positives:

Sviatchenko is a fantastic defender and a real battler.

Brown has played very well in all the games although he tired the last 10 minutes today.

Forrest on his game is dangerous against anyone.

    Sinclair is quality.

Armstrong and Dembele have some great attributes, both strong and fast and cause the other teams problems. They both need experience to help their decision making.

Jozo is rusty but that’s normal but he is fast and strong and looks like he could turn out to be a good player.

There are positions that need looked at but we are getting there. An easier group would help!

  30. Wwwell done the Hoops. Knew we would get zilch from the ref. Penalty a disgrace, with Muzzlehead Suarez leaving his leg in. We still are short in midfield. Could have done with Auld or Hay in there to deal with tubes like Neymarr, though Lustig did well not to kick him in the St Rolloxx, though I wish he had! HH
