Excellent post, I’m a Secular Franciscan and have been for over 30 years, I was also for a period Minister Prefect of the local Order, which means that I should try to mirror my life on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi through a 12 month journey of formation, which is expected to develop throughout life and begins with entrance into the fraternity.
I initially struggled with the concept of “loving one another as I have loved you” and eventually spoke with a Franciscan priest about it, his response was “we are not Jesus or St Francis” it’s only natural to dislike those that have done us harm, but we should not hate them or dwell on it as we are only then causing ourselves further grief. I also hold grudges and discussed this with a priest as well, his comment was “don’t try and dwell on it” kind of hard with all the “et tu brute” chib marks on my back.
Many believe it is like a double lock. If we don’t forgive and harbour anger, resentment or hate against another the toxicity of that emotion will prevent us experiencing peace and disrupt our spiritual development. The resentments are often wounds and can make us physically, mentally or spiritually sick.
*Fully concur with this, although I also believe in karma and admit that when any of my transgressors suffer any setback I silently smile, a few year ago I may have opened a bottle in celebration, that is how much I enjoy their downfall.
I don’t hate the huns, anymore I hasten to add, I don’t even hate the likes of mccormack, burke, o’halloran or the west brit daly even though a family member of his came out with the sycophantic le guen apology of not going to Holy Mass any longer. As Ray Davies once sung “It’s your life and you can do what you want, do what you like” and they certainly can, but leave us out of your obviously guilty reasons for doing so.
I have a huge dislike though for he whose name should nut be mentioned the other side of a coven and the wee nyaf from the tail o’ the bank who cannot even say our name anymore and continually sneers at us.
As far as the former is concerned I through the years have given it a lot of thought trying to figure out why he did what he done and have now come to the conclusion that he was only a pawn in the game played by mcmurdo, bader and the beast.
As I said recently and based on a comment in the English version of the Sunday People I firmly believed that he was tapped up by naesurname, however they and especially bader had a concern over their nutty following accepting not just any Catholic but one who had blessed himself in front of them when being ordered off in an effort tae appease our support.
As such IMHO they concepted the idea of him first signing for us and then when he backstabbed us some of their bigoted support would now accept this self proclaimed uber Tim, some I said BTW.
It was he who approached big Roy with the idea of returning, Roy then went tae Billy who wisnae at first interested, but persevered and he then went tae the board for funding, when this was approved the wee ratbag provisionally signed for us and what is notable here is that mcmurdo was nowhere to be seen.
After being photographed wearing our shirt he then went tae Love Street tae watch us, however, it seems that he left the contract in the glove compartment of the car the club had rented. Have any of us ever left a legal document behind, even by mistake, no I don’t think so. He, it seems now, was never going tae adhere tae it.
Another notable feature of this “transfer” was after the cup final (wonder where he was and who he was supporting) the beast allegedly said on hearing our support celebrating on the terracing and the team in the dressing room “let them cheer now, they won’t be in a couple of weeks”.
He not only backstabbed us and the support but also big Roy (who almost tore his testicles off in his first game against us), big Billy and more so his close friend Tommy Burns who had said at the time his signing had taken the cub intae the 21st century.
Still don’t hate him as I actually think he’s a couple of french fries short of a happy meal and could easily say “Father forgive him as he knows not what he do” as I now actually believe he had no real idea what he was doing or even now what he has done.
One wee footnote on this horrible saga, when he was at tynecastle it seems the huns were struggling with strikers, might have been the time chauncey broke a tear duct against Portugal, and naesurname allegedly wanted tae resign him, bader knocked that on the head as it seems they lost 10,000 of the support while he was there the first time.
I digressed a wee bit there but only in the concept of describing forgiveness as I see it, as far as I’m concerned there can be no forgiveness without the acknowledgment of wrongdoing and none of that is emanating from the south side of Glasgow.

I find myself agreeing with a lot of Neg2 and other Neg sort of posters :-) sometimes the lack of football talk from a lot of the same minded posters maybe makes me sometimes gloss over…. I am late to Cqn so missed a lot of the early years but I hopefully read and post about the football but obviously aware that if not for Cqn I would be like the majority of Celtic fans …. sometimes ignorance is definitely bliss :-)

I agree with most of what Neg says as well re the cheating, corruption, board etc, I don’t agree with what he says about the Res12 bhoys or Paul.

Forgiveness is such a huge gift to bestow. It deserves acceptance of guilt/responsibility from the ‘trespasser’ to reduce the likelihood of a repeat.

I know how toxic it can become, to yourself and therefore to others around you, when you can’t or won’t forgive.
Lost quite a few friends, and probably one wife, due to my failures in forgiving over the years.
I have also, thank God, quite a few friends (and probably another wife) who were far more forgiving of me when I messed up.
But it’s a process, and the first step is to fess up (as I did, initially grudgingly).
Once you fess up, genuinely, it opens the door to forgiveness.
If you don’t fess up, there can be no process of forgiveness.
Nobody involved in the apartheid, self-entitled entity based on Edmiston Drive has ever fessed up for anything, either before 2012 or after it.
Post 2012, the new club had a golden, albeit bent and immoral, opportunity to ditch the
medieval baggage of the previous club.
They chose not to do that.
Instead, they climbed into the shabby red white and blue supremacist rags of the previous busted flush, and told everybody really really loudly that nothing had changed.
So, no forgiveness. No, not none.
Not going to get too involved In a very complex debate around Res 12 and the other compliance concerns.
Just an observation from the outside looking in : at this moment the dissenters on here are pretty much level with the Phil McG fans in terms of scoring direct hits.
I don’t like stats , however a few months ago I think we were advised on this blog that the Res 12 issue was just an open goal where we needed the board to tap the ball over the line.
Now, again, my memory may be at fault as I don’t follow this issue forensically. I prefer to deal with the matters in hand as I see them today.

I disagree with quite a lot of what both Neganon2 and KevJ say and am less sure that what they say will turn out to be true than you. But they strike me as being as much Tims as I or anyone else here is. Should either or both decide to take their custom elsewhere this blog might becike a more harmonous place but I think it would also be a rather duller one. And I hope both guys remember that if I disagree or mock their posts.
