Hello again all you young rebels.

Finally back from the rebel peninsula and as usual a brilliant weekend

at our Mornington CSC, lots of new visitors to our club yesterday and

a big surprise when the late great Phil O’Donnell’s wife and lovely

daughter gave us a visit and what a joy it was to see them joining us all

and singing along to our Celtic songs, phil’s daughter delighted us all

by getting on stage and sang a very emotional rendition of ..Grace..

and an encore of.. Caledonia.. and i can safely say there wasn’t a dry eye

    in the club.

RIP Phil O’Donnell a true Celt and much missed.

Now i’ll watch the game on CTV i hear Celtic are back on track with a high

  4. One of the most perceptive and rational posters on here was asked:

” Any thoughts on Celtic’s reluctance to deal with res 12 and the SFA in particular?

    and he replied:

“Yes- I don’t understand it and, therefore, remain suspicious of how slowly they are moving.”

    NB YES, I DON`T UNDERSTAND

Worth remembering that that is the case for all of us in here. It should not stop criticism of perceived wrongs but it would maybe temper the tone of expression.

    Cheerio for now.

SFTB – re: JJ site; I full agree. Far too many scatter-gun and inaccurate stories. Some eventually prove to be true, but the vast majority don’t!

TET – really agree about Eddie. I couldn’t make the game on Saturday but managed to watch it on Celtic TV and he has very good link up play. he isn’t static and is always moving, looking for the ball or an opening. Would be worth the money IMHO.

“Celtic PLC out maneuvered by Doncaster and Regan???”

Amongst others, I guess. And I am not hinting at Masons there- more likely – political interference, in my opinion, but it is also possible that UEFA/ FIFA did not want more skullduggery exposed following on from their own scandals and the lack of uniformity in football regulations across the world.

I hope the truth gets exposed some day but I have lost faith that our “truth” is winning. The majority of Celtic fans love the Rangers/Sevco match too much to give it up. Our custodians cannot be castigated for being in sync for once.

  8. My friends in Celtic,

As admitted by one of the main players in Res 12, the intricacies surrounded it are very complicated . The original concept is straightforward but a satisfactory resolution seems further away than ever. Frankly it is extremely difficult to follow. Others may have deliberately muddied the waters to achieve this very aim.

The recent theme on here has been forgiveness. I was possibly flippant last night and for that I apologise. My feelings on forgiveness in this football context is to get even then forgive.

It should be remembered, we have done nothing wrong. Our continual aim must be to ensure that we do not harm our club by trying to right the wrongs of others.

MWD. Just as you have gained employment another hammer blow hits your family. Best wishes and I will do as you ask.

HH to all, but especially to those experiencing family difficulties.

If that’s the same as a Barrie McKay £6m from last January they’ll get less than the £1m they paid for him!!

They’re obviously trying to punt him this window, loan deal for Cummings is getting his replacement in early.

They’re shameless, consistently skyrocket hun valuations while depthcharging ours. Been going on for as long as I can remember.

  11. I think the SFA, Scottish government. Police Scotland. Judiciary. all panicked when R*****S were liquidated. I suspect they thought mass disorder & violence breaking out amongst the so called people who would have to watch a rampant Celtic dominate Scottish football

This would not be allowed to happen at all costs somebody called R****** would play out of £poundland a way will be found nothing will stand in the way of this plan

This was probably in there thinking when they concocted the same club myth engine room subsidiary, newco etc. Which was then the smsm came into there own pushing an agenda so far fetched to be believable that the gullible hordes actually believed it, football felt the full force of this relentless onslaught, with the odd exception trying to dismiss this as the nonsense it was but to no avail

We as Celtic fans have stood alone watching this farce unfold in all it’s incredulity & even on this blog brave Celtic me have pursued in seeking Truth & Justice but when your up against the full force of of the State & all it’s pernicious alliances with anti Celtic elements these noble aims seem as far away as the moon

  12. Greenpinta

” Our continual aim must be to ensure that we do not harm our club by trying to right the wrongs of others.”

That was a key part in the pursuit of Res12, why much had to be done off stage which is why it appears complicated. It’s not. It boils down to.

Did Rangers obtain the 2011 UEFA licence honestly? (There is strong evidence they didn’t.)

If not how did it happen?

What is there to stop it happening again?

What assurances can Celtic give shareholders and suppprters that poor governance at SFA, particularly in club licensing, has been recognised and what are or have SFA done about it.

Of course if supporters happy to pony up without that assurance that is up to them and takes pressures off Celtic to seek such assurances.

Folk read things into the forgiveness topic that were farthest from my mind when I brought it up under a truth and reconciliation.

The fact is there is now a process underway involving the SFA that should have been done in earnest from 2014 after Res12 was adjourned.

Which raises the $64m question. Why didn’t the SFA act on information provide from 2015 onwards that is documented from 2015?

    Simple.

  13. PS. They were first informed of concerns in 2014 but failure to act meant recourse to a lawyer in 2015. ( It took ages to find one not already conflicted by other legal issues arising from RFC demise)

Morning All, from a cloudy North Cyprus.

There were a few good posts yesterday afternoon on the subject of Miners, and links to a few of the many songs that have been written in tribute to their toil.

Here’s a rendition of Merle Travis’s “Dark as a Dungeon” (at 1:42:35) by Leith’s very own Dick Gaughan, which I’ve heard him play live, just as it is here in a a recording of a gig in Bristol, from 1990, when he was at his peak (IMO).

If you haven’t heard him sing and play before, I hope that you will enjoy this link.

    GREENPINATA @ 8:45 AM,

Good post, some very important points covered that should be heeded.

As far as your point about getting even goes…

It must be remembered when Rangers were heading for liquidation project “Strong Rangers” clicked in (a processes that I suspect was years in preperation).

This, despite Armageddon, Being Punished Enuff, Scottish Football Needs A Strong Rangers etc, etc… has only partially succeeded.

There’s a Natural Law at work, a Karma if you will (though personally, I don’t like using the expression as such). As Celtic have continued to do the right thing and Sevco have taken on Rangers flawed business plan and practices we find we are NOT even.

We are well ahead in every department. While Sevco struggle through this transfer window with no cash and trying to off-load players we decide how much of our budget we want to spend.

    MAH…

You are quite right, the scale and depth of the Scottish Establishments response to Rangers Involvency is unprecedented.

I think the idea that the Celtic Board, like some sort of latter day King Canute, could stand up and turn the tide of Partisan malfeasance is quite simply wrong.

    Auldheid…

It was a great pity many took your posts on Forgiveness to be a backing off and letting Rangers/Sevco off the hook.

You have done as much as anyone and certainly much more than the vast majority to ensure rules and regulations are abided by and when they aren’t disciplinary action taken without fear more favour.

I know you’re far from finished with this and believe when all’s done and dusted you will name and shame despite “Forgiveness”.

Some excellent posts on CQN recently I must say…

As always… keep up the great work!!

Personally I viewed AULDHEID’s posts about forgiveness as being akin to South Africa’s Commission for Truth and Reconciliation. Not,as some suggested,as trailing a failure to follow this through.

There would be little point in The Res 12 Four going to all that effort only to facilitate a cover-up.

They have always had my total-though not unquestioning!-support. They deserve that,at the very least.

  17. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Nothing wrong with valid criticism, its a driver.

It’s when anything, any subject or idea can be perverted into an idea to attack something else that’s an issue.

When falsehoods and unsubstantiated insinuations are made suppose that’ll be down to collateral damage sorta thing.

  18. Forgiveness ?

My mother ( RIP ) did that Arbeit Macht Frei thing for ” The Master Race ” . They gave here two tattoos in exchange .

She used to say –” I forgive them because I know that would really annoy them .”

  19. BMCUW @ 10:28 AM,

Yes quite right. Obviously, like myself you have followed the Res12 bhoys and others work in trying to see ensure justice is done and seen to be done.

Think the last real chance of reconciliation was the SFA Review. It’s their failure to do so without good reason that shows what a staunch, pig-headed, partial crew we have in Establishment Scotland.

The fact that they had to pass the Res12 issue to the Compliance Officer is testament to the work carried out and pressure brought to bear.

A fine choon . I went to see / hear a very old and unwell Charlie Louvin in an ad hoc band with Emmylou Harris and some of the Gram Parsons band . He did a mighty fine version of Dark As A Dungeon

Saw Dick Gaughan in Plymouth – supporting Ten Years After .. I felt sorry for him – audience was mostly Ten Years After fans and blootered looking for a fight marines and sailors . He stood his ground.
