  1. Routine win well done Bhoys!

BBC website has possession stats as 52% -48% which Hurtin’ Hun looks after that website!?!!

Yur teams deid mate, beat it!

Great result Celts! Or so I heard…

Didn’t see it as having some Celtictv issues.

Some info. for anyone travelling abroad or moving abroad with Ctv

You cannot upgrade a UK & I subscription to Overseas. The U.K. & I must be cancelled by someone at Celtic T.V. Then you can take up a rolling monthly or annual subscription for the period you are away.

Now that process is not too clear, especially in the minutes before a game and then when goals are rattling in and you just want to watch the game…

The exchanges to the support staff can potentially become a little … fraught.. ahem!

Celtictv take a wee bit of a dunt on here sometimes, but I’ve always tried to speak up for them as the crew really do care and try to fix it if they can … sometimes under a fair bit of pressure from eejits like me. ( yes.. I know ;-)

So. Just a wee shout out for Rachel at. Celtic tv tonight for putting up with some hassle and phoning me half way around the world to ensure we are sorted out for the Hibs game next week.

    An absolute credit to Celtic!

I’m struggling to remember when I last saw The Hooooops. Coupla years ago,we played Dundee Utd time after time,I was home in time to catch most of them.

Grand it was, didnae matter that my Dad took me on a wild goose chase when he thought he knew where the bus stop was!!!

That’s my Dad. That’s me. That’s The Hoops. You’ll do anything for The Hoooooops.

  4. Few surprises in the game and result.

    A professional performance.

I still think we should pass a little quicker.

We have a gem in Ntcham.

Kouassi showed well in his short time on pitch.

Johnstone is a very positive player and once he learns to deal with the rough and tumble he will be a star.

JF is becoming excellent at finding space in box.

A fu….g shame. I hope both players recover mentally and physically.

Saw it online earlier,a no fault but that will be no help to James. Oh,I so wish him well.

I think a few jokered the champions on CRCs competition… ffs even Mike in Toronto ditched the Sevs firvtge Hoops, he must be keeping that mob for the final week :-)

  7. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

I sat in a room in Tokyo for three weeks trying to stream the games and to post on CQN to no avail, hugely frustrating so much so that the Japanese woman I was staying with brought me a packet of biscuits and some green tea:))

Great to see the Boys again:)))

  8. One encouraging thing for me today was watching a Scottish lower devision team try to pass their way out of trouble.

It’s risky and cost them at the second goal but a positive sign that attempts to modernise the game are happening.

They still had a few robust challenges and the ref was lenient at times accepting that the challenges were a result of class differences.

Overall i was impressed at the type of game they tried to play and hope it catches on in Scotland.

  9. TREBLE WINNING CAPTAINS on 20TH JANUARY 2018 5:32 PM

Informed rumour, outgoing, poor attitude, what a waste.

    ………………

Who are you referring to? If you don’t mind my asking.

  10. GFTB I believe we have till Jan 31 to play jokers.

I wasted my first one on Leicester a couple of weeks back.

  11. Explain yourself TWC. You have our full attention.

Dembele for a taxi to Abbotsinch?

Now that’s an ill informed but genuine question.

31st Jan is the deadline to purchase the 2nd joker, think that’s so CRC can sort out all the financial stuff, I usually keep jokers to last two weeks to kid myself on I have a chance :-) but had a feeling a few would select the Hoops this weekend so had to run with the mob, goals fir Shay, last man standing and goals galore are great ventures by CRC & Jobo most enjoyable and all for terrific causes

  13. Brendan as reported by BBC Scotland.

‘We definitely want players in’ – Rodgers

    FT: Celtic 5-0 Brechin City

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: “We got multiple scorers in the team [today] and that was nice. We got goals early in the first and second halves. We move onto the next game. We always create chances and there are very few games where we haven’t scored.

“I want to give credit to Brechin; it’s tough as a part-time team playing against full time teams. But they showed great spirit.

“Every competition you enter you want to win, it’s not just about defending it. We want to win as many games as we possibly can.”

On his plans to strengthen his squad in the transfer window, Rodgers added: “We definitely want to get some players in to help with the creativity in the team. We’d want to strengthen by the end of January.” I>

  14. Gerryfaethebrig on

Not sure if TWC is referring to Moussa or Leigh, Brendan’s press conference he says Moussa might be effected by some interest then seemingly Griff headed to changing room from the stands to get his gear on fur post match training session

    Who knows ?

Would love them both to stay, would hate both to leave, given the choice of one, I would hope Leigh stays out of the two :-)

  15. What mathematically challenged statistician does the BBC game stats.

Showing Celtic with 54% possession? Incredible.

  16. More from Brendan on BBC

“I don’t know [if Moussa Dembele will still be here]. Time will tell. He is very much a Celtic player. There has been some interest in him, of course, but nothing official.”

    Hmm.

Does this feed into TWC’s info which he’s keeping close to his chest?

  17. Training session today. No one played badly, thought Sinclair, Tierney, Ntcham and Edouard were the pick of the players. Kouassi looked good when he came on. Mikey Johnstone should got out on loan to get gain time and bulk up a bit.

Still think Moussa is being wrapped in cotton wool in case an acceptable bid, for us and him, comes in before 1st February. Likewise Simunovic, if Bitton is coming on at CH ahead of him then he must also be heading to the exit door.

I see that Hendry was not in the Dundee squad today, stop him being cup tied or protecting him from injury ahead of a move??

Listening to BR post match and he said there will definitely be signings, plural, before window closes. In the more creative areas he said.

I remember another player wi a poor attitude, apparently. According to his manager anyway.

A bit of genuine human management and coaching might have seen a finer football player, bit Derek Riordan was treated like a piece of shit by his manager, when he needed every helping hand available.

What a player. And how difficult is it to manage a player like that? Well,we will never know, because his manager did not offer the helping hand. He trashed his confidence, then trashed his reputation, and guess what,he was right. Everything he said about the player was correct. Eventually. Because what happened at Celtic, with GS,wrecked his career.

But had Strachan put his faith in that talent? Oh,what a player he was wi a free rein.

  19. Edouard may not be as good a finisher as Dembele or Griffiths (time will tell) but he links play up a lot better than both of them. He holds it up, brings others in, can pick a pass and works unselfishly for the team. His pass to Lustig for the third goal was sublime.

Still early days but I hope we sign him permanently, even at the reported £6-7m.

TWC – I think Griff will go, which is a real shame. Sister in law was telling me today about all the twitter stuff from one of Griff’s harem before Christmas – amazed the wee man has time to get to training!

    He’ll be hard to replace if he does go, and it will have an impact on the country’s population growth :-}

  21. Cannon fodder today, they dug in and did well in the end but really our players cannot be judged against that level.

I see Brendan is talking about signing a creative player, assume he must be looking for a no10. McGregor is a good player but he cannot sustain a performance level over a run of games. With Rogic out for at least two months it is the position we need to fill the most. Ntcham is a quality footballer but he plays in a deeper role. 20 days into the window, Brendan must know who he wants. If we can get the right player it will take us to another level. Would like a good right back too, whether Ralston is the answer i do not know but Lustig is a worry. Fill those two positions with quality and we are sorted.

  22. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

THETIMREAPER – I think we are in danger of being short in the striker department.

Dembele won’t be here long-term, worried about Griff (even if current rumours are unfounded – which I hope – Brendan hasn’t ever seemed to see him as his no 1 choice), not at all confident that Edouard is the man to lead the line as a prolific scorer.

TWC – I think Griff will go, which is a real shame. Sister in law was telling me today about all the twitter stuff from one of Griff’s harem before Christmas – amazed the wee man has time to get to training!

*good wee player but with the baggage he evidently carries widnae have been anywhere near Jock’s sides. Couple of other strikers we had fit intae that category as well.

  24. BMCUW

I thought Derek Riordan was a great talent too but I cannot agree that WGS had a large part in his downfall. The evidence from Derek’s stay at clubs after Celtic supports the view that it had more to do with himself and his own failings.

How can you know that it was the reaction to his Celtic stay that left him feeling unable to perform adequately at either Shaanxi, St, Johnstone, Bristol rovers, Alloa, Brechin, East Fife, York or Edinburgh City?

Derek had 24 chances to make a mark at Celtic. How many should he have been given, if you take into account his lack of impact. He had 2 good spells at Hibs, the 2nd after he had left Celtic so he could not have been that traumatised by his treatment, but rumours suggested that he needed to leave the attractions of Leith to get away from his pals influences.

  25. No player is bigger than the club, pity if any think they are. BR will handle this the correct way for Celtic .
