  1. Good stuff doing the minutes applause. Respect.

An excellent travelling support by Brechin – despite having a mare of a season. Respect.

    Olivier Ntcham. Respect.

    1967

Broonie was Good but not as good as the Olstigator.

I watched Kouassi Eboue closely. The Celts never passed the ball to him when he came on…. initially. :))

The guy is seriously disciplined in his positioning. Celtic playing one defensive mid will have one heck of an energetic dude that wants to play.

Celtic scoring without Brechin touching the ball, I felt for them @ that moment.

    Brechin or Barca

Think Brendan is rigid in his formation

But what do I know :-)

  3. Big Packy

Warmly recommended- but try and catch from the start.

    Enjoyed the game today too.

  4. Our opening goal was a football masterclass. However the remaining 88 minutes did little to inspire us. Sideways footie at its best.

    :-)

Exactly, even “if” Ashley did try to polish that turd it would still be a turd, old or new, would still have the sane flies hoovering = stuck in the past with no hope of a future :-)

  6. Gary 67 Looked like 3 at the back with KT playing left mid. As for Lustig. A Celtic great but his legs have gone. Hh

  7. Starry Plough

Keep me posted re The Bridge. Hopefully on Cooncil( ish) telly soon. As long as Saga is driving her Porsche it should be fine

  8. As for playing one striker at home to Brechin. It looked utterly ridiculous. But what do I know. Hh

    …………………………………………………………

Brendan will get Tony a lot more game time and Mikael will (its a tough shift being a fullback) be given a break.

Kieran was looking burnt out against the Sevco munters. And he is a mere Youngster.

    Incredible

  10. GORDON64 on 20TH JANUARY 2018 9:34 PM

Lustig was wide of Forrest most of game today but struggled to get back on the few occasions he had to. Surprised Ralston didn’t get a run out today. If we don’t sign a RB this window then it’ll probably be a priority come the summer.

  11. Watching las Palmas/Valencia game there.

Las Palmas player takes heavy touch in Valencia box and as ball goes slightly over dead ball line he tries to retrieve situation by knocking ball across goal.

Ref correctly blows for goal kick but in meantime defender clears ball from the area.

Ball ends up near halfway line and a substitute warming up on sideline runs on to park and kicks ball back to Valencia keeper to allow goalkicker to be taken.

    Referee books the substitute !!

I was surprised to say the least.. does anyone know if there is a rule on this?

  12. Trying to live…..*cough*………… “in the present”………..

obviously a struggle in some perts………

Maybe you should read my post again, and pay attention to the timeline.

I’ll say it again,Riordan was a sublime talent. And you are absolutely correct to say that he did damn little after leaving us. But a proper manager would have got him playing for us.

Football is full of genius mavericks, whether they be the Best or a Friday. Picking eleven automatons doesn’t make a Jock Stein, nor an Alex Ferguson. Proper managers of men can do that, though.

Your argument is that he did damn all after leaving us. Actually,so is mine.

  14. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

Hmmm by your reckoning then should have Jock Stein been able to get George Connolly playing for us??

Derek Riordan did for Derek Riordan, spunked his own talent at his own behest I would say!

    HH

  15. Well done to the Brechin City supporters who made the effort to come to CP to support their team today. One of the biggest away support at CP this season.

  16. Gerryfaethebrig on

Scott Sinclair & James Forrest have accumulated 29 goals between them and we are still in January (16 & 13) that is some going fir a couple of wide Bhoys

Scott has been a terrific signing and wee Jamesy has been brilliant since Brendan has been here

    STARRYPLOUGH

Aye,and I get that. But Jock Stein said that his greatest achievement was to have Jinky playing into his 30s.

He drove Jock up the wall, and Jock tried everything with him,the carrot, the stick, the boot up the arse,a minder, spies in the pub,the lot.

Now,Riordan was no Jinky-who could ever be that?-but GS ruined Riordan. Up till then,he’d been managed. After that,he was FUBAR’d.

GS was his way or the highway. And a proper manager knows that some players need some help.

  18. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

We’ll, have to agree to differ there, the jersey was too big for him in my opinion that and the fact he was a total tosser:)))

  19. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    STARRYPLOUGH

Jock Stein was not in charge of the team when George finally walked out. Had he been, who knows?

  20. The ‘double treble’ is one step closer tonight. And remember they are absolutely bricking themselves at the thought of it. Hh

  21. Apropos of nuthin’ in particular,

………….playing at Celtic Park,”live”…as it were, in front of that broad body of Timdom is a monumental test for even the strongest of characters and the most able of pro’s………..Our great stadium does not only intimidate our opponents………..

Most of our picks can cut it,

    some can’t.
