  1. God night and God bless all,

but especially those in pain or experiencing personal problems or sorrow.

My father was a miner. Finished his days at Cardowan.

Was a big Abe Moffat supporter yet attended mass regularly.

He saw no conflict in supporting a communist while still practising his faith.

It did my nut in as I couldn’t reconcile both.

I think we also owe a huge debt to the teachers who were determined to educate us whether we liked it or not, with the aim of raising a generation to smash the segregation barrier.

I’ve mentioned a couple on here. One in particular was John Oates who went beyond his subjects to enlighten us of a wider world in politics, religion and football.

He also introduced us to proper sportswriters like Hugh McIlvanney.

Since there are now a few posters freely admitting to the heady attractions of thermal vests and long johns in winter:

Can we become an official CQN Clique?

Can we do a calendar in our undies and woolen balaclavas?……..

I’m up for that, as long as I get a winter month, after all a thermal bikini is just daft:-):-)

Well done to the Brechin City supporters who made the effort to come to CP to support their team today. One of the biggest away support at CP this season.

    —————————‘

Well done to all who made the effort to attend yesterday. Travel was precarious for just about everybody.

Should we really expect supporters to sit for 90 minutes in these conditions?

I take my beenie off to all . It was just too easy to stay in the nice warm boozer and watch the game which many of us did.

HH to all, but especially to those who made the effort. ( Like the Coventry Emerald with a full bus )

  7. Just been sent this but don’t know what to think.

Apparently DD is p***** off at Lawwell because Lawwell has given the impression that if Celtic shareholders (re Res12) give him the bullets Celtic will fire the gun. DD wants the Res12 and title stripping issue dead and buried.

The name to look out for is Steven Glancy should Lawwell be punted.

    Lite’s Induced Loan Game

A football agent source of mine has apprised me of the fact that should Mark Allen of Rangers Lite continue to play the ‘induced loan‘ game he will be effectively ‘Cold Shouldered‘ by all agents.

The latest scam by Rangers is to pursue players that they cannot afford. It was a strategy that worked a treat before for Alastair Johnston and Dave King who were both aware of Sir Bribe & Lie’s EBT tax evasion and the acquisition (note not winning) of seventeen bent titles. When Jamie Murphy’s move to Auchenhowie broke down my agent source informed me that the player was in limbo. With no other bids on the table Allen then offers to take the unsettled player on loan until August of this year, which was the date proposed by Lite for the first of three payments; with the second in August 2019 and third in 2020.

When Traynor briefed his BBC Freemasonry lickspittle Richard Wilson that Brighton had ‘moved the goalposts‘ he was of course lying. Allen’s offer of a first payment in August was dismissed out of hand. Allen anticipated this. The loan deal was all Lite could afford. It’s easy when you know how.

Allen played the same game at Kilmarnock apropos Jordon Jones and at Hamilton with Greg Docherty. He made bids for both and proposed the same payment terms as he did with Brighton. Allen knew that the capital quantum and payment terms would be unacceptable but having unsettled the players he then offered to take the disgruntled players off their hands in loan deals.

Steve Clarke is alive to Allen’s scam. Hamilton won’t return Allen’s calls. Docherty is being wrapped in cotton wool prior to one of Cardiff or Millwall signing him. Nice try Mark but no cigar.

Should the SFA not step in to prohibit Allen from unsettling players by making bids that Lite cannot afford to induce loan deals? The SFA sat on their hands for a minimum of 13 years as Sir Bribe & Lie signed players that he could otherwise have not afforded had he paid HMRC what was due.

Regan is so obsequious to the denizens of The Blue Room that he is perceived as a squeeze ball. Besides, Regan is far too busy orchestrating a whitewash in regard to Rangers’ bogus UEFA licence in 2011. Is it not high time that the compliance officer calls in a retired Lord Ordinary to dismiss the licence application as an honest mistake?

There are those who suggest that arch criminal King’s impending Cold Shoulder won’t affect the club. I believe we will soon discover that it will have far-reaching consequences for the new club.

Allen who left Manchester City under a dark arts cloud is playing a dangerous game. Those who suggest that Lite are not running on fumes should revert to the evidence.

  9. THERMALS .

Worn indoors in South East Sicily .

Houses built to cope with months of serious heat don’t cope with damp / humid winter air . In winter it is often colder indoors than it is outside .. Living here in wintertime involves removing layers of clothing to go out .

  10. Some pleasant performances from yesterdays game.Eboue looked confident, assured, and hit a few beautiful passes.Big Nir came on and was as elegant as ever.Very underrated player IMO.Great passer of the ball.Edouard every bit as effective as Moussa for me.Puts a shift in.

Some annoying things. Our set pieces were woeful. One great delivery from a corner got Dedryck his goal.Too many never beat the 1st man. With the height we have, these should be weapons for us.

Everyone could see the difference between the two wings when we attacked. The left side was fantastic, the right side hardly seen. The problem is that Big Mik,just cant do it anymore.90% of his passing goes back .KT is bombing forward at every chance supporting play. Not so Mik.Instead of the clamour for another CH,we should be looking at a RB.Not sure if young Ralston is the finished article yet.

Watched Musonda when he came on for Chelski the other night.Mightily impressive.

    This morning’s quiz question:

Here’s the scenario: Superscoreboard last night. Celtic supporter on, well claimed to be anyway (that’s a clue).

Caller states Dembele “got substituted and went straight up the tunnel and postmatch salute to fans was “on the pitch with “his hood up”.

Finished with, “That’s all the evidence I need”.

Question: What was the caller’s main point ?

Should wee Fergus have gone for a smaller stadium with a retractable roof?

  13. Jozo Simunovic and Lazio .

Back in the kite flying “news ”

    Two versions –

    # 1-De Vrij will sign a new contract and that means that Lazio will not be looking to sign a centre half ..

#2 — Rube will pay the desired big bucks for De Vrij ( 30 million euros ) and that means Lazio will be looking to sign a centre half ..

  14. Henrik 10.18

It’s a variation of a narrative from a couple of years ago. Res12 never about Rangers so no stripping titles aspect in it.

It’s with SFA and if JJ is correct large buckets of whitewash will be needed for an honest mistake doesn’t need covered up for 4 plus years.

“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

Many believe it is like a double lock.

If we don’t forgive and harbour anger, resentment or hate against another the toxicity of that emotion will prevent us experiencing peace and disrupt our spiritual development. The resentments are often wounds and can make us physically, mentally or spiritually sick.

If however through active loving forgiveness we can let go of any harmful emotions we are less encumbered and not blocked from a meaningful life experience.

As we forgive those who harmed us a deep healing occurs and we also experience true forgiveness for our own trespasses. This is often formalised in things like Confession where the individual becomes aware of their defects and through dialogue gets ‘sins off their chest’. Others might speak openly to individuals like Counsellors for example.

A failure to deal with negative emotions, energy, thoughts often leads to ‘blockages’ where the person is really living in a resentment or pain filled illusion and is simply reacting and being triggered by the ghosts of the past. This person is rarely present in the moment but mentally elsewhere in the resentments of the past of the projected fears of the future.

In Scottish Football the parties that have harmed us (Sevco, SFA/SPFL) unless we forgive them, the resultant resentment or anger will deepen and continue to harm us/make us bitter. This causes conflict and diminishes the quality of our life experience. We will be stuck in a eternal loop of these negative emotions/thoughts/actions.

If the trespasser(s) continues with their behaviours (Sevco, etc) or fails to acknowledge them, or if there is a systemic failure to deal with the problem, in my case it’s about removing myself from the toxicity. Only by removing myself and not harbouring and dealing with any grudges do I experience peace. I have to accept that the individual(s) are on their own journey and I am not in control of their journey. It is none of my business.

They too will experience pain as a result of their self centred, actions/thoughts/words.

It’s the learning bit you refer to, I believe.

This is an opportunity transcend the ego. The ego is attracted by the confrontational elements of Sevco matches. Fear, anger, greed, dishonesty, sectarianism, and division. It want’s to keep us trapped in this damaging cycle.

If I can forgive ‘them’ they don’t cause me further pain. I have actually ‘benefited’ from their transgressions by growing spiritually, emotionally and mentally. Paradoxically, it later becomes clear that the the pain is really a mechanism to help me ‘wake up’ and start to move away from the inauthentic egotistical self towards the true self.

That growth is from the painful place of Division and Isolation into a loving Unity which takes the Human Experience into a different place.

As somebody once said… ‘Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

    Duty Calls.

  17. Turkey Bhoy

I like Lustig but I had same thoughts watching the game first half.

Maybe Michael is just saving his energy for bursts as he created two of the goals in second half.

I think he should change his angle on receiving a pass so that the ball can be moved more easily up the wing rather than backwards, but then again that risks losing it out of position and he might not be able to recover the same.

  18. Thought we tried to move the ball about quicker yesterday, more one touch passing than the usual, receive the ball, look, hesitate, change your mind, pass it back, style we have been adopting this season.

Obviously something they’ve been working on in Dubai, long may it continue.

    Turkeybhoy,

couldn’t agree more matey Lustig’s legs have gone, not a doubt.

Concerns me that Brendan, and that Swedish manager (ye know at the World-cup) include a guy who is so obviously deficient in the basics.

Struggling to suggest why that’d be, but my quiz question and where Moussa was heading…………well there’s yer answer !

    GREENINBINGLEYINOSLO on 19TH JANUARY 2018 7:28 PM

I missed that but it’s spot on in every aspect.

Forgiveness starts with self and self awareness. I had an exchange with The International Forgiveness Institute on Self Forgiveness that I’ll post later.

As regards the wrong doer as in our south side neighbours there is a great line in the poem The Prophet that covers them.

“Pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.”

I’ll fetch the whole verse (that I’ve posted before) as it is so apt.

There is another line that says something like

‘It is the bitter potion that heals the sick self’.

It’s as if the author had been to Ibrox.

It is most frustrating when having drunk the bitter potion, you encounter reluctance of others to partake of it because you know how freeing it can be, but if stubbornness continues it is right to walk away knowing that hell will eventually mend them.

Can you imagine a greater hell than the pain the most bitter of ‘Rangers’ supporters must be going through?

That is where Corinthians 13 comes in.

    Now THERE is a challenge.

There is just so much way beyond football that we are being taught now.

  23. Scullybhoy

I don’t think a retractable roof is feasible. Mainly due to cost. But in an ideal world, then yes .

Is our weather getting more volatile and extreme? Possibly, although that is a separate issue and worthy of a separate debate,

I think the answer has to be more practical. Summer football and facilities in tune with 2018.
