Under different circumstances, we would applaud, or stand in silence, to mark the passing of Jim McLean, the former Dundee United manager, who died on Boxing Day. McLean’s achievements in the Scottish game are eclipsed by few, perhaps only Jock Stein and Alex Ferguson. His team United the country with wins on the European stage that could scarcely be dreamed of now.
During his term, United received an accolade from Uefa ahead of a Celtic game. Post-match, he spoke warmly of the Celtic support, a generous moment. I am glad United visit Celtic Park to mark his passing today, it is just a pity we are not all there to share it.

Soro MOTM by a country mile.
Once again we got what we needed, another victory. Good all round, more discipline from Ryan and Calmac, more comfortable on and off the ball, and playing with a bit of confidence. The whole squad in fact, Barkas too. Could have had a couple more goals, but we are making the chances and taking some of them, maybe take more as the games come along who knows. Have I said one game at a time yet? How about one year at a time?
Eddie amd Griff both looked like they were struggling at times but their class led to a brilliant goal. Play them at iborcs

I felt Calmac played very well and Griff made some very important contributions.
Barkas should feel a bit better about himself now and I hope Jullien is OK. I thought he played quite well today.
Laxalt? I am not a fan. I prefer Taylor.
I thought Christie was better than some others felt and Rogic showed what a class act he is. Eddie? Hot and cold bur obviously a very talented player.Turnbull not my MotM but another good performance.
Think I would be inclined to play Taylor on Saturday. Laxalt flatters to deceive, very rarely provides a good ball into the box and provides little or no defensive cover.
The evidence of Jobo’s MOTM ratings is that Laxalt is vastly superior to Taylor

I was pleasantly surprised with today we dealt with dutd very easily.

Funny old game , great performance and solid win . Final score could easily have been 8-2 .
Still a wee question mark over the defence which looks porous at times and I think the huns would exploit it more than D U did today so we need to stay switched on and keep the back door closed.
With Turnbull and Soro in the side ,I do think Sevco will find us a different proposition to the Celtic they have faced in the last couple of games.

I honestly think Lenny needs to go into the transfer window in January for a Centre Half with pace ,unfortunately Julien nor Duffy are blessed with pace ,also Bitton is slow ,but will Lennon go after one ,has Gallagher at got that,I think he is ok ,so what do you other supporters think.

Laxalt was my top pick or at least in top 3 on his first few showings . Nowhere near it today though .
I’d be happy to see Taylor at LB on Saturday as I think DL’s form has understandably shaded a bit . Still rate him though .

Could we not play Brown and Soro on Saturday. Dropping Christie would still give us attacking threat in Eddie and Griff, and Calmac and Turnbull? I’d also put Taylor in for Laxalt.
Very good performance, on another day we could have scored six or seven. Good to see Edouard get a goal from open play.
Soro, Frimpong and Turnbull were my best performers.
Pretty sure the ball was going wide when Chris Jullien collided with the post, looked and sounded like a sore one, hopefully just bruising but could be a fracture.
Soro was excellent today and looks a real talent, but be careful what you wish for.
The Huns will get away with booting him all over the park.

julien , Ajer, Bitton and Duffy honestly we don’t have any centre backs of note , we could select any 2 from that 4 and defend as poorly with any pairing ,no positional sense, no pace, can’t defend set pieces , we require 2 centre backs pronto.
