  1. Jeez I’m watching BT highlights after the game. They are mocking us and Izzy. Chris think Izzy is at fault for the first goal God almighty ! Chris get on a coaching course pal. Humphrey is an absolute nobody. ATTACKING FOOTBALL IS THE CELTIC WAY. Listening to McManaman gets worse as it goes on.

Just back from game and reading back.

Fantastic night. That was a real celtic performance. Even if we had lost 4-3 the team would have deserved the ovation at the end imo.

Reading back on the eastenders murder thing took me back to the Lisbon years, coming out of celtic park after a big Euro night, poss vodjvodina , and hearing about what happened at the end of The Fugitive.

Also hope the next tribute to Chris Sutton sees him in an empty hall.

  4. Me and the Ould One are very happy men. We have successfully restarted our hearts after the game by liberal applications of brandy.

We are, moreover, united in the belief that this young team of ours, with this young manager, would cuff Inter 4-1 at Paradise 12 months down the line from here, and fecking nearly did tonight.

The Ould One, an 86-year-old veteran of Lisbon, said: “It was like watching the Celtic again. You know, our Celtic. Attacking Celtic. I loved that tonight. Jock would have loved that tonight. I think the brandy’s closest to you. Aye, just a wee drop then.”

Not sure about Mr Stein loving shipping 3 goals at home but all the rest I agree with.

I think we are seriously going places with Ronny Deila and this squad.

    Now back to the self-medication.

  5. supercelt @ 23:36,

I’m not going to say I’m right for sure – as I say, Ronny echoed your own thoughts in his post match interview.

But I totally agree with you there, the comeback was special.

After they scored their second, my own heid went down and I felt that familiar horrible dread. But hearing the roars from the crowd coming through on the TV, and then the goals came…….what a feeling.

And at 93 mins, down by 2-3, the despair was coming back.

The elation at that equaliser from big John Guidetti – priceless !!! Elation is the word I’m feeling the now, which is why I’m rabbiting on :))

  6. That Guidetti goal will do him a power of good. Might make him think of making Celtic his permanent home for a few years. Overall a great great night, pity there is so much emphasis on the pundits. I just want to relive and enjoy the match.

  7. And mocking the lap of honour at the end. I love it. I love the relationship between the fans and the players and the management team. Long may it continue.

  8. Just in.

    Mental game!

  9. It’s a tough, tough task to go through next week but you know what. A team that can come back from 2-0 and 3-2 to draw 3-3 against a team of that quality can do anything. RD has put that belief into them.

I’m going out on a limb here but RD is the type of manager that could take us very far in Europe, if we can hold on to him. Like Mourinho at Porto.

  10. prestonpans bhoys on

Well if you didn’t enjoy that then there’s something wrong with you. I rolled down the stairs with two other bhoys at the third goal, me thinks I will be very sore tomorrow!

  11. HT,

Bitton for me, the way he can make space for himself is a joy to watch.

A wee day off tomorrow, so a bit of moonhowling and a long sleep to recover…

Said to my sons on way home, Guidetti for a hat trick on Sunday now.

  13. An amazing game of football.

We used to watch serie a on channel 4 play at a snails pace, with a few nice touches.

Wonder what the Italians thought of tonight’s game.

  14. I know big Sutton was also a hero of mine but they way he talks Ronny and the Bhoys down is fecking well and truly right bang out of order.

  15. Daily record reporter finishes his report on entertaining 3-3 draw against the Giants of Inter by saying this

It was the 22nd goal Celtic have conceded in Europe this season – but their never-say-die attitude in the second half saw them get their rewards at the death.

    Ffs!!!

  16. Marrakesh Express on

Some English pundit said a few weeks ago that the Scottish premier league is a joke and he doesn’t even look for the results now.

Yet McManaman says we should be beating Inter easily? A club that won the CL four years ago?

They want to make their mind up.

  17. And they play football the Glasgow Celtic way.

    Fantastic Celtic.

We have another fantastic young management team.

A lot of those boys were new to the whole experience, playing in such an atmosphere and playing against such quality, but I thought they were sensational. Inter played a very good game as well and you could see the way they moved the ball about the pitch that they were well up for it.

    This is only the beginning.

Belfast was Green and White at the weekend, Glasgow tonight and I have a feeling Milan will be next. ;)

    A 2-1 takes us through. ;))

  18. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

I’m a few pages behind, so I my be echoing what has been said.

I think the springboard for our performance tonight was our superior fitness level, allied to improved passing and movement.

Bitton is going to have clubs from the big leagues breaking our door down.

He is a Barca player in the making.

  19. Paul,is either waiting for the witching hour

  20. Awe Naw @ 23:36,

BT always treat their customers, which as you know is the whole of the British public really, with utter contempt.

We shouldn’t be surprised that BT Sports will do the same to Celtic.

But we should be concerned that one of their former chairmen is on the Celtic Board, and one of the few comments from him recorded in that role, was to show his contempt for Celtic supporters.

It all lends a powerful argument to those that have been rightfully questioning the Celtic Board’s behaviour and lack of. They treat us with the same contempt that the MSM do. It’s starting to annoy me all the more, as a few young intelligent heads could take us out of the SPFL corruption and doldrums and create a new, glamorous, and ethical football competition. At the snap of a finger.

Folk need to stop thinking, “is that right?”, and start thinking, “let’s take our club back”.

  21. Ffm

Given that they compete against each other for our Pounds, you would think that either Sky or BT would say some positive thing about us. Both must have decided that the bigot pound is more lucrative. HH Fhriend.

Chris must have done very well with Lincoln to get this gig!!!!!!

  22. Justafan, I think if you check back I used it the day he signed as I know the Bhoy is a very good audio visual timekeeper,ie drummer for those not in the know.

    Hail Hail.

  23. I’m going to defend McManaman slightly because other times I’ve seen him he’s spoken well. Was he possibly trying to say that with a bit better defending we could easily have beaten Inter by 2 or 3?

If he genuinely thinks we should be beating them by that, then I’m afraid he needs to lay off the Chianti.

  24. the glorious balance sheet on

Bitton and Brown were magnificent tonight. Armstrong will be a star for Celtic in the mould of a Stan Petrov, Mackay Steven is fast and direct and didn`t look out of place at all. Johansen had a hand in the first two goals and if only he was more accurate in his short range passing would be an absolute class act of a player.

What was really good was seeing both Bitton and Denayer going over to Craig Gordon after Inter`s third and giving him a pat on the back to keep his head up. That’s the sign of good team spirit.

The only thing this team needs is full backs that are more solid defensively and more physically imposing and powerful – both Matthews and Izzy are a bit soft.

    As for BT Sport;

McManaman knows nothing about the relationship between a team and its fans – he is a snidey wee turncoat that supported Everton but jumped the dyke to play for Liverpool. Think Neil McCann but with a greasy perm.

Sutton was a legend as a player but comes across as a wretched miserable human being. Has anyone ever seen the guy ever smile besides celebrating a goal? He seems to see the worst in everything and is the kind of moaning faced old fart that never tires of telling people how things were better in the good old days when he were a lad.

  25. Turkeybhoy

Thanks. Unbelievable. A truly special night from the boy singing Nessun Dorma through to the equaliser and the cheering at the end. Heroic performances from both teams . And these clowns who couldnt manage a menage slag it off?

  26. kdc @ 23:37

I hear you re the first goal, but am not convinced. It was struck with a lot of power, at short distance. I watched on TV, so am never going to stand by what I saw against someone that was there.

But I still think it was a very unlucky goal to lose, and a very well taken finish from the Inter player. The third was the one where we made errors though, for sure.

    HH

  27. If you leave early when there’s even a slight hope of salvaging something from a game, you’ve not been paying attention.

Reminded me of Donati v Shakhtar. . . Never give in!

  28. Craig Gordon tonight IMO – after the benefit of watching goal replays

1st goal for Inter – the ball is hit hard and sharp on the volley and he reacts instinctively to parry it – in a split second there is no way he’s leaving a shot like that; there is no time to consider if its wide or not; very bad luck to be parried straight back into the path of the forward for a tap-in.

    3rd goal – misjudgement obviously.

Second half – 2 or 3 good saves, and finished off with a superb stop from the last minute free-kick – he was so chuffed with that and I was chuffed for him.

And it was great to be singing his name in support after his mistake for the 3rd – bet that made him feel good.

So a bad day at the office 1st half, and a good recovery in the 2nd – walk away happy, along with the c.60,000 others

  29. Just love in the celebrations after the Guidetti goal, some lhad in the crowd waving his crutch in the air.

  30. the glorious balance sheet 00:01

You are right about Broonie and Bitton, they were top drawer tonight, both gave 9.5 performances against quality opposition as well, and that ain’t easy. Both were driving forward and trying to pick holes in an Italian defence all night. Both were simply outstanding.

  31. BTs banning of Stan Collymore is an utter disgrace. The Monkeys are running riot, threatening hotels, public figures,TV stations,FFS.What is going on.The truth hurts, and again they are being kow -towed to again.Disgusting.I hope plenty on here tell BT what they think.

  32. Gary Gillespie

The Fugitive was the night we played Rangers. Losing 0-1, they got a penalty, Johannsen hit the bar and headed into back into Gk arms , we ran upfield, Bobby Lennox scored and then we added 2 more. It also poured that night too.
