An English friend of mine got to Celtic Park tonight. A guy who takes in all type of live sport from all around the world. It is what he does.

    His view

No it was great, a great game and a real football atmosphere made by the crowd based on what was happening on the field and not by some gobby disk jockey or moronic chanting by fans trying to generate an atmosphere!

  2. Observation and question..

That was the best ‘Walk On’ at CP for years. Brilliant.

Is John Park all right again, after Biton’s performance tonight?

We could have won that game tonight. The again, at 15 mins in, I feared a drubbing!

What a wonderful way to spend a Thursday night:-)

I thought Inter were a big lazy when they lost the ball and didn’t track runners, if we can stay tighter at the back, a bit more self belief required then we have an excellent chance next week.

  4. FFM,

Me and Delaneys went to the Aus Pink Floyd at the weekend, you would have loved it. I think they are playing the Hydro on Saturday.

Celtic were at their swashbuckling best tonight, and IMO, there is so much more to come from Ronny Deila and the team he builds. ;)

Belief indeed, Paul, but also concentration! Mistakes which we would get away with at SPFL level will be punished at this level.

    ——

Need say no more about that, but well done Celtic for the way you came back and put in such a brave and committed performance.

The two new boys were outstanding and will be big players for us for years to come.

Jason was immense. Sad that he won’t be.

Our keeper picked a bad night to make his two mistakes for the season, but if you have a keeper who makes two mistakes a season then things can’t be too bad! And fair play to him for having the strength of character to put it behind him and make some good saves in the second half.

Well done to JG for the goal. Wouldn’t have fancied us to win 2-0 or 4-3 out there, but 1-0 or 2-1…?

Well done Ronny for sticking to your beliefs. Great seeing the Inter player going down with cramp at the end! Progress since the autumn clear and with more to come.

In fact well done to all! Just love this club!

Great game to watch at times but OMG…….The standard of both teams was poor…

The other 30 teams in this round will gladly be drawn against either of them in next round

Of course a 1-0 win takes us through as well. Somehow I think your scoreline is more plausible.

  10. Just in.

Haven’t been this wiped after a game since I can’t remember when!

My Dad is safely home and the wee Mhan’s in bed. He now has a sense of what CQN’s about having been to The Corner.

An tearmann – you’re a gent. He thanks so. So do I.

Poor Craig Gordon. Such a great pro he’ll be kicking himself. Was worried the loss of lustig could cost is the tie. It may well do so.

So many positives though. So many. In the pitch. And off it.

Love being part of the celtic family.

The wee mhan told me he wished he could have celtic songs piped through headphones all day at school!

Love having a baby Tim in tow!

Well, me and the weans enjoyed that! Loving the up and at them style of fitba. Most I’ve enjoyed since TB’s team (well, OK, Henrik wisnae bad).

Watching the replay on BT – good match commentary.

As for the studio analysts – smarmy dickheads – ignore them.

Big cheers of “There’s only one Craig Gordon!” at the end of the first half! He absolutely deserves that! :-)

A Big HAIL HAIL to Bournesouprecipe and his mate Dennis! Thanks again mate! :-)

    Yours in Celtic,

  14. Rascar Capac,

Hi Rascar, I hope you are well.

Unfortunately, I think the Evil Genius expects perfection from Ronny’s team straight away. He has cut him no slack at all from the start.

He wasn’t the best for Celtic after Martin left, so when it comes to transition I couldn’t give a toss about what he says, especially when it is served by the MSM.

Still a Top hun skelper as a player, definitely one of my favourite players as he was a fighter no matter the opposition.

  15. Tambourine Bhoy of 1967 on

It’s not often I comment on here (less often I’m acknowleged) but just popped on to say,

‘Well done to the bhoys tonight’.

Played alright at times. Played crap at times. Played some excellent football at times. I was impressed by the way we kept at it, kept the heads up and showed a fighting spirit to get a decent result (a great result being realistic).

Definite progress and Ronnies bhoys are beginning to click. I’m happy with how things are going and I’m happy with tonights result.

    That’s all folks!

    Regarding An Tearmann.

Yer wee mhan is a good judge of character.

Crazy being shattered after these games

but still to buzzing to sleep.

  17. The trouble with these European games is that you get home late, wired to the moon, no chance of sleep for hours yet and up early for work in the morning.

Thankfully I’m off tomorrow and half way through a bottle of red.

Don’t you just love the Celtic.

Your knowledge of the other 30 teams is impressive.

  19. That was FUN to watch………this team reminds me of Celtic in 1966…….and Big Jock and the players quickly learned from their naïveté . Incredible that CG was so poor……but the team fought back for him……and I loved the fact that Ronny went straight to CG at the end of the game to congratulate him on the last save.

This is gonna be some team……..if only we had EPL money !

    Great to be a Tim

  20. St Patricks day 1956 on

Out of character for Craig Gordon with his two mistakes and I doubt if he will ever repeat that in the one game again. Anyway he redeemed himself with other good saves, especially the last one from the free kick. There is no one else I would rather have in goal for us. I have great confidence in this Celtic squad, and our manager. This match will be a stepping stone to greater things,… great things come to those who wait….and I am not talking about a Guinness, …. The future looks good for Celtic Football Club,

I hope all the Celtic fans who were there tonight return again to embrace it together.

What a brilliant night at Paradise, from lows to highs and back again……..the atmosphere was there for all, full house and in fine voice.

Green Brigade were fantastic and their sensibilty cannot be questioned, great night and a fantastic game still to come.

  24. Good evening all from the Red Sea Coast;

It’s interesting to read the comments about tonight’s match commentary and pundetary on BT? The small band of Celtic fans where I live watched the game in HD quality on BeIN Sports but with Arabic commentary. We thoroughly enjoyed the game and pretty much did our own commentary. So, as a group, no comments on the commentator or pundit – just talk about my son and his beginning game!

Like most have said, we feel for Craig Gordon who made two decisions that he will really learn from tonight. He is a GREAT goal keeper and I am sure he will be our number 1 for many years and many successes :)

There is so much to be positive about tonight’s game… we work harder off the ball than any Celtic team I have seen for a long time. Biton and Johannsen look great and are part of a developing style of play. They are two real assets!

So in brief, loads to be positive about about how we played tonight! Also, I felt very home sick that I was not in my seat in the North Stand but equally felt so proud about how we looked and sounded – 60000 at CP is so special. For those at CP tonight …..you did us proud!!

My very best wishes to Paul 67

    Thanks for your support ⬆️
