Be great to experience it even for 1 game

Gerryfaethebrig, I think when you state something is “facf” I think it’s quite assertive. However, I also think that you are very much mistaken, golf in Scotland is very much available to all. Coatbridge has a very accessible public course as I’m sure you know.

Grew up playing Dalmuir municipal and adjacent courses. You won’t find many with ‘money’ up the muni. Most private Clubs are much changed from days gone by. Rules and attitudes have been relaxed and your average guy/gal is a member. Of course you have the exclusive Clubs but that’s just like every other walk of life. Anyone can play golf in Scotland, there are dozens of municipal courses.

Gerry- not wanting to get involved in the early posts of a promising spat:), you can play a very good golf course for about the same money as a ticket for CP, and will last twice as long as a game.HH

I agree, where I grew up we had Deaconsbank and in Cumbernauld we have Palacerigg, both are similar to Dalmuir.
I see Gerryfaethebrigs point, if he’s talking about some of the posh courses.
My mother in law, you can choose your friends but not your family, complained to me that her golf club is no longer what it used to me, I asked her why, her response was they have allowed too many Celtic fans to join. She was 100% serious. This from someone who grew up in Dundee.

1st at the ole Dalmuir, 6 iron and a flick with a wedge to the green, the Wee Drap is a sand wedge, fly it 5 feet past the hole and spin it back. The Road hole is a Driver and a 4 iron on a good day with the wind behind.

The olde Dalmuir first tee, Back in the day was as nerve wracking as feck. Everyone is watching you!!!!!!
That Road Hole is a par 5 ffs. :))
The wee drop, my favourite EVER hole. I still couldnae get a birdie there. I never got a birdie playing golf.
Maximum RESPECT to all those that make the game look easy. It is anything but.
Seeing how high skilled our Celtic players are, was incredible. The warmup was Magical.
