Interesting documentary on the referee in the Anderlecht v Nottingham Forrest EC semi final being bribed and lack of investigation by UEFA.

Great play by Celtic yesterday and yet we fear another hiding on Wednesday. The gulf between the top level of football and the rest is growing all of the time. I saw references on CQN to Glasgow, Dundee, Belgrade and Sofia producing two clubs which reached major European tournament semi finals. No chance of that happening again under the current setup.

It was pleasure, a small way to thank you and the Kano Foundation for the sterling work you have done and continue to do.

I’ll be there next year as well, God willing.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

Interested to see what Aberdeen have to offer this season. In recent seasons they’ve been very consistent in the first half of the season, then stumbled badly when the heat was turned up.

If they win their match today, they’ll go to 2nd in the league, 4 points behind the Champions, to whom they suffered their only loss 4-1.

If they lose, they’ll go to 7th.

That’s a big swing, and puts pressure on the players, and they haven’t seemed to deal with pressure well in recent times. They’re missing Ryan Jack today, and Jonny Hayes is doubtful.

Interestingly, the same outcomes await today’s opponents: If they win their match today, they’ll go to 2nd in the league, 4 points behind the Champions, to whom they suffered their only loss 5-1.

If they lose, they’ll remain 7th.

Form-wise, Aberdeen are a point better than today’s opponents, having had the more difficult set of league fixtures. Draws versus Hearts, St Johnstone and ICT, wins over Dundee and Thistle and defeat to Celtic. Their win over St Johnstone in the League Cup on Thursday was doubtless a confidence booster.

It’s a curiosity of the SPFL’s random fixture generator that this season’s fixtures have seen last season’s top 4 all play each other in the opening 6 fixtures. It’s a funny old game.

  7. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

The Battered Bunnet, in my opinion, Johnny Hayes is the Dons’ man man.

They play better when he is fully fit and playing. . He has been hamstrung by hamstring issues for about two seasons now.

When we beat them 4 nil about 18 months ago, McInnes took a risk playing Hayes , who only lasted about 20 minutes breaking get subbed.

My main concern is their centre half, Taylor, he cost them a number of games last season.

Yeterday was great entertainment from our team and those in the standing section.

Listed to the BBC yesterday on the way home from the game completely hyping the game up with guys like Butcher etc talking about the tackle on Durrant. I actually could not believe that a “responsible” broadcaster would do such a thing. The word “hate” was used. This will be the same “responsible” broadcaster that condemns any trouble today and steps back from having any responsibility for stoking the fires of hatred. Miller did well by condemning it live on air but it should never have been broadcast in the first place.

  11. Our home games on fixture list that are down for Saturday kick offs at 3pm in November and December…

Will they stay at that time ? Thinking on booking flights for a game. Over Saturday morning and back Sunday

How low can you go when a nonentity from Accrington is your talisman player, although he has only played a couple of games.

Some one has posted that the Hun bus up in Aberdeen has been vandalised, mocking Durrant and the Ibrox disaster.Oh FFs,all hell has broken loose.

Sooooooooo funny. At least its taken their mind of “Josh”

On the plus side, minute 12 “welcome the new club to Pittodrie for the first time” round of applause gets a mention.

  21. Two nil to the home side.My mate once told me he wouldn’t giveTHEM a penalty kick in a penalty shoot out.

  22. A step forward in relations with the PLC!

Published on Saturday 24th September, 2016 by Celtic Trust

Trust resolutions to be supported by the Board….

Following lengthy negotiations with the ‘Company’ (as they like to be called) the Trust is delighted to announce that for the first time in our existence the PLC Board will be calling for support for a resolution from the Trust. This will be the first time ever that the Board have recommended that a shareholder requisitioned resolution be supported – notwithstanding the fact that subsequent to AGMs they have implemented our proposals on a number of occasions.

This resolution relates to the process of genuine consultation between the Board and supporters, an area in which the Trust have played a leading role throughout our existence. Matters relating to the governance and ownership of the Club is, of course, the reason the Celtic Trust exists.

At this very late stage – normally our resolutions would already have been submitted – the Trustees of the Trust decided that although we had some reservations about the wording of the resolution, we would accept the assurances of the good faith of the Club and hope that this will represent the beginnings of a genuinely consultative structure where fans’ organisations can be consulted in good time and can influence policy for the good of all of us.

We are continuing to discuss with the Club some proposals we have made with regard to the Living Wage. We will announce during this coming week the results of those discussions and whether we will be putting a resolution to the PLC AGM on this issue this year, so please look out for that.

In the meantime, it is now imperative that we obtain the required 100 shareholder signatures. The resolution requisition form (with the wording and the supporting statement) can be found here. You can print it out, sign it and return it to the Celtic Trust at

The Celtic Trust, PO Box 2066, Glasgow G32 2AX

    Or

You can print it out, sign it, scan it and email it back to us at our new email address TheCelticTrust@gmail.com

If you are a holder of ordinary shares in Celtic PLC and you wish to support this resolution then please do this as a matter of urgency.

    Thank you
