  1. The free kick that led to Aberdeen’s winner – gobsmacked at that – surely the ref was handed the wrong script – definitely not supposed to happen – it was neither a free kick or a booking – great to see them on the wrong end of a decision like that but so unusual – spooky almost.

Their influence is definitely as strong, The do have some as you say. The fixture computer must have a season book i’d imagine. But the ref’s are bad but not as bad. I think we are miles ahead as you say no matter their influence now.

The Delia V ICT semi we were cheated. They saved them up for that day. Yogi got MOTS that year to rub it in.

‘Where they have Neymar Messi and Suarez, we have McKay Waghorn and Garner.’

  5. Bottom line is that a tackle from behind is illegal and viewed as dangerous. Therefore foul and booking.

So many managers, pundits and fans talk pish because they don’t know the laws of the game.

Bottom half team when only 2 of their 7 games have been against top 6 teams. That’s their level and I think they will be lucky to get 3 points from their next 3 games.

I posted last night complaining about the words used regarding Dorus de Vries in the CQN match report.

I still think they were not very classy for a Celtic site, but I was probably OTT in my response. I blame a long flight, missing the game, getting home and seeing the goals, euphoria, and drink, in that order.

But not an excuse. So I apologise for being an intemperate Mr AngryPerson.

Been bugging me all day, shouting the odds at someone who’s worked so hard for the Celtic cause.

    So, sorry.

It’s the same when he does the Radio program. I have missed goals because of him and thought we had conceded at times because a team have made it over the half way line.

  9. KEVINLASVEGAS @ 6:13 PM,

    Yes quite…

The ICT semi did show the cheating is as bad as ever in some quarters…

But I’ve got to say ICT’s appeal for a penatly against Sviatchenko and Alloa’s appeal for a red card for me in another either would have been treated completely differently.

Infact I’d go so far as to ssay I can’t remember Celtic getting the rub of the Green like that domestically since… well… forever:)

But you are quite right, we must remain vigilant, the days of the “dark arts” are far from over.

They have the media still through Traynor but in the past few weeks even that looks to be softening.

Ok I have a soft spot for Aberdeen and I hate Zombies but I still consider my take on today’s game to be pretty neutral.

Aberdeen are stuffy but have a couple of quality players in Johnny Hayes, McGin , Shinnie and McLean and Rooney although average knows how to finish. Overall they are a stuffy team. The manager is decent ( although a Hun) and has built up a bit of savvy. He’s probably reasonably bright.

The Huns have a largely Championship team. Barry McKay was good and Zkenny Miller although past his best offers something. Their manager is a Rookie, he’s clearly not daft but he is football naive. The Huns are decent in midfield and can string passes together so will always show reasonable possession against most SPFL teams ( not Celtic obviously). However they are weak at the back and bereft up front meaning they will alway concede and struggle to score.

I’ve seen many teams like them over the years. The managers are usually praised then replaced.

An intelligent Hun in my work made a great point to me this week re Barton. He reckons Barton is a streetwise genius. He thinks the media persona is highly cultivated. Barton knows the difference between intelligence and education. He sees things coming and he acts first. He manipulates players , fans and the media.

Barton is worth more money than Rangers they have been a play thing to him facilitating his rise in the media, promoting his book.

    I tend to agree

    Very good post.

Found it really strange that even someone intelligent like Spiers (who was one of the few to call out the old club on their spending) would think that the new club could get “back” to the same level without the same sources of income (duped investors, banks, taxman).

    ———————————————————–

Our luck changed the day Brendan walked through the Parkhead gates.

He is undoubtedly a good manager but maybe more importantly he is a lucky manager. Measures were immediately taken to reduce the power of the “dark arts”. I totally believe the rumour that he had salt poured all round the ground , ensuring that our defences were strengthened.

Note how Craig Gordon only saw yellow, how we effectively applied unmagic to the loafs hat, how we managed to convince our goal machine to meekly hand over the ball at a penalty, how we are getting the benefit of the doubt at offsides and 50/50 decisions.

My friends in Celtic, it is no coincidence. It is written in the stars. Our crowds have magically appeared again, and there is a feel good factor that wasn’t there last season. We even discussed our biggest defeat in Europe in a philosophical manner with virtually no criticism of our manager or team; if that’s not magic then what is.?

However you are absolutely correct we must remain vigilant, especially away from home. Particularly in the crumbling Greyskull ( one of the last bastions of the dark arts where all the dodgy decisions will be rerun ) .

Hail, Hail. To a magical adventure, we’re on the road again.

Sutton called out Garner at the first game of the season v Kilmarnock.

He said that he had a reputation in England for putting himself about and also diving.

He said that the refs had marked his card and that the Scottish refs should do the same, as he had come up to Scotland with the same tricks.

Absolute terrors the both of them, although well spoken and polite with it as they curiously hold management positions on Strip casino floors- no security needed, as it’s obvious that their shiny Armani suits can barely deal with the bulk beneath.

After showing them the Green Brigade’s flag display and the positive social media they both have donated to the 188,800K collection.
