  1. When I was a wean, there was a guy I always fely sorry for,a proper scapegoat at the time,Alec Byrne. They all used to call him Alice.Supposedly a reak chicken heart.

  2. Being a good crosser of the ball has feck all to do with the strength in your legs.

How you come to think he has no strength in his legs is equally bizarre.

    Dearie me, nurse!!

Bobby Petta?.Did I hear someone mention him as a “Scapegoat”.

You are absolved. In a Pentecostal way.

The (original) Yogi, John Hughes got it tight from the support, as did Stevie Chalmers. On occasion, they well deserved it too.

    …..

Magic pal. That got me laughing .

Chalmers was utterly useless running with a ball.No brain,no control .

    What a scoring record though.

If ever a player exemplified only being able to put the baw in the net that was Stevie.

Yogi.Sparkling run, beating four men and with the keeper to beat from 10 yds blootering it into the back of the terracing…hahaha.Magical memories mate.

Which Celtic scapegoat ( deserving) as opposed to Celtic Scapegoat ( Undeserving) had the strongest legs

and more to the point, which one had the nicest legs

Or am I on the wrong site ???

  7. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

I’d give Emilio a wee snifter before he matches, might calm him down and stop him overhitting those crosses.

I’d imagine our coaches have tried everything else.

  8. CLUNKS on 23RD JULY 2016 10:22 PM

Izzy? has no strength in his legs to deliver a decent baw. Has had time enough to sort this out. Too much praying not enough weights.

    Foxy thats a helluva statement.

Take it your uefa B license was taken at the sfa??

    Feck me………

    ====================================

Aye, sat it alongside Bonner, Prytz et al Jimmy Bone and Eric Black assessing.

Probably noteworthy none of us that passed made it in coaching, although I never tried.

    Ye get aboot mate.God bless.

  10. WITS –

Changed days. If a player ran around the pitch with one or both socks at his ankles nowadays, the referee would order him to pull them up, if the manager didn’t beat him to it.

    Health n safety.

  11. Provan was my fav player as a bhoy. Even persuaded my da to take me to a Sccotland game to watch him play.

Most memorable game as a wean being in the jungle as those all around me remonstrated with the hun Provan to cross a decent ball….just once lol.

  12. Saint Stivs says SACK THE BOARD on

I never wore shinnies, played with socks soon.

    Never really got hurt.

Right back usually took the ball off me and ran up the park.

  13. Once again, Its all down to us to keep the lights on in scottish football..

A corrupt and masonic organisation, bankrupt and immoral, is shown twice weekly on the sports channels, playing part time and semi pro teams on 3rd rate public parks, and we wonder why the world laughs at scottish football and doesn’t take us seriously.

  14. Saint Stivs says SACK THE BOARD on

I actually knew proven way back then. He came to port high youth club with mike Conroy a few times and took our training.

    Under 16s.

    He wasn’t a hun.

His brother Roddy the proddy was.

  15. Tricoloured Ribbon on

We still need two good midfielders. Two with craft and bite.

Don’t care how many we have. They are not good enough.

Brown and Armstrong not nearly good enough.Nowhere near it.

The blog should be all about a bit of crack and banter.

Jaysus there is enough hardship in the real world

Are all football fans as mad as us… seriously .we played well today, got a decent result against a very good team with much greater resources than us and what happens

We start a moan fest over someone missing a penalty

Imagine if Ronny was still in charge….probably be some loony posting Ronny Out

    ………………………..

I saw what you did there:-))

I was at the game today and really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere. The difference that I can already see from last season is that Celtic have bulked up. It was a good robust, physical encounter today with a lot of good football being played. Not a dirty game by any means. Where Celtic players would have been edged off the ball last season they fought like demons to retain possession. Leicester were the hardest working team in the EPL last season. We made them really work hard today. It was a good game with a great atmosphere. The Green Brigade worked their socks off. We are much better going forward and taking less touches but there is still room for improvement. We need to tighten up at the back and be more clinical in front of goal and we will be one helluva team. Hopeful for Wednesday. I’ll be in Codta Adeje and looking for a pub to watch it but I’m beginning to have a good feeling.

    Leave Wee Jamesie alone everyone.

How much damage does Efe have to do to our hopes in Europe season after season before some of you ghuys wake up.

    very good,very interesting guy

  18. To be fair, nowadays the support is so sensitive to players being injured, if a player did wear his socks at his ankles and was injured as a result, and ruled out for a period of time, he’d cop a pile of dung on here, and rightly so.

No the worst (apologies if I have missed anybody)

  20. Who writes the match reports and headlines? What utter guff! I think I’ll start reading the SMSM again.

“Forrest fluffs spot kick glory” is the headline, it wasn’t the best penalty in the world but the keeper saved it.

It then says “Nadir Ciftci, Stefan Johansen, Scott Allan, O’Connell and Ryan Christie all made first-class jobs of their efforts from the spot.”

I don’t know about anyone else but O’Connell’s penalty was nearly a “fluff”.

Some of Leicester penalties were straight down the middle.

Later on in the article it slags Cifti for not scoring goals “until he goes in where it hurts in the penalty area.” He had 30 minutes compared to Dembele who had 60. How did Dembele do? To me he doesn’t look match fit.

Apart from the lazy journalism from CQN I enjoyed the game.

  22. Efe did have a very decent game today, but he cannot be trusted in a defensive position in a crucial game against decent opposition. That’s my honest assessment.

  23. Gerryfaethebrig on

    Auld Tam…. Exactly

I know it’s early doors and the CL is the milestone around Brendan’s neck but if you don’t mind me asking how do you think this season will go ?

For me CL group stages would be brilliant for the ST holders, a wee carrot, any European involvement after Christmas I think will be EL (total success) …….title and ant cup win will do, not fussed about anybody apart from us :-)

  24. Celtic please listen on

Great exercise today, one of the best pre season games for tempo etc thoroughly enjoyed it, no injuries game time under the belt. Atmosphere created by the G B awesome as was midweek, safe standing section looks & is a great success. Hats off to our club. I must say though Celtic symphony – we need to find a verse akin to ooh ah samaras, uefa fined us previously i think for using the original lyrics. Please understand i only highlight it as i don’t want any harm to come our way fans & club. HH.

I used to give tom Boyd pelters for his over hit crosses.

I met him in hospitality at benfica match we won 3-0.

My nephew took me, and said to me.

Your a two faced basta talking to tom Boyd. I have a clear memory as a kid of you running the front of the jungle screaming at him to learn to cross the flukin ball

The Hibs boy, blond, pretty pish, think he cost us a million, I blame PL :O)

  28. Leicester corners, Celtic have everyone back.

Celtic corrners, Leicester leave 2 upfront.

I would love to see Celtic take that approach when defending corners.

  29. Wits…
