  1. Plenty if new names going over the top i their criticism.

Poor perfmance, disappointing result but we move on.

  2. Now apart from anything else we are now seeing that this season is going to be a rather frustrating one.

Bar Stokes there is no goal threat and Pukki looked lightweight and lost today.

Balde is not good enough or trusted enough to play at home to Morton so he will bring little to the attack this season.

We are struggling to break down teams who know how to defend against us and we’ll win the league with a slog playing boring football as there is no one bar Commons who can pick a pass and we’ll struggle in the other cup.

In Europe we got there and I’m grateful cannot see this team repeating it’s feats of last season – who beats Barcelona two years in a row in the CL?

This is not knee jerk, it is a reaction to what we can all see. The trouble is some people don’t want to see the limitations of the team – but the opposition see those things. Remember that.

  3. Morton have won 1 game this season!!!!!!!.I really hate people who try to put a gloss on a disaster like this while I am spewing.I have no doubt the youth team would have gubbed that rubbish.Sick of it.Every time we are on the up,we shoot ourselves in the foot.

  4. Bad result. Takes the heat off Morton manager for half a season. Chico’ s commentary was unprofessional but he didn’t score against us once. Is the transfer strategy in tatters? Don’t think so. Is Lennon a dud? The evidence suggests very otherwise.

    So the treble will be

    League

    SFA Cup

    &

    Champions of Europe

Ps, fanadpatriot, 100% on your last comment

    Hail Hail

  6. Hopefully next Tuesday we’ll be celebrating a win and tonight’s utter shyte can be put behind us.

Not at all hopeful. We could get one hell of a beating next Tuesday.Lose against Ajax and all of a sudden the season begins to unravel.

We’ll still be in existence though. So chins up Bhoys. oiche maith.

  7. ….PFAyr, thanks for that.

But that too is utter Bollox.

We play a sport, which we have no right to win.

When we loose I try to keep some perspective, I see the next challenge, move on.

Am I satisfied, no, but I can accept defeat in sport, the other guy did good.

I don’t want to see a club winning every game, we should be able to beat the like of Morton, but tonight we couldn’t.

I do value the SC much more highly than the LC, so does the club, so do most leagues, ever heard of the French/Spanish/Italian or German league Cup Winners?

That sounded more sarcy than intended, but I enjoy our exchanges.

I accept good ghuys opinions, like yours, giving honest criticism, I just know tonight the posters who only come on after defeat will be so I emphasise my optimism.

  8. Philbhoy - Bring it on!!!! on

    Very disappointed!

No matter what anyone says, I don’t really think that Neil and the backroom staff are learning from previous poor results and performances.

    That’s my biggest concern.

    Bring on the Barca!

    Gulp!

  9. Didn’t make the game tonight so can’t comment on specifics of the game but its obvious that our team, our players as individuals, are more suited to counter attacking football. We lack the craft and guile to open up well organised defences with only Commons capable of something different from our formulaic style of passive passing, drawing the opposition out and hitting on the break.

  10. Crushed nuts. I agree with your post but tonight cost almost nothing for fans to go along and still no one bothered.

  11. At first I thought there was a sense of perspective on here tonight…whoops. Congrats to Morton, we move on.

  12. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

It looks like this Celtic squad don’t fear the wrath of their manager.

    Maybe Neil doesn’t do wrath.

    If not, why not?

I think that he is more of a pal than a boss.

Unacceptable performances against lower level teams is becoming a bit of a habit.

This team should be afraid to enter the dressing room.

Saves us going to Murrayfield (?) for the final. Not Hampden as previously stated.

    Perspective.

Big Jock`s teams frequently lost to the ” also rans “.

  14. Tonight was all part of PL’s P&L Masterplan. We get KO’d, CP can be hired out to SPFL for one semi and the final. ;-)

    Burnley

    Poor form

Despite repeated explanations as to why some weren’t there you persist with your fan apathy line

If it helps you deal with another shocking domestic cup performance then fair enough

We embarrass ourselves annually in at least one of the domestic cups ….

    Poor, poor post mate!

    Time for your bed.

    And mine.

    Good night.

  17. Doc. Good point re value of League Cup in reality. Also re sport having winners and losers.

Where I sit most folk seem to turn up and expect to see Brazil 70. My sense is they might prefer the movies where a happy ending can be assured.

  18. WANTED

Celtic fans who back the team through thick and thin in victory and defeat

Fair weather fans and glory hunters

    Need not apply

  19. I am Neil Lennon e El Juarez Bravo on

Poor performance, bad result, lack of top class striker a big concern. But it was only the League Cup, number 4 on our list of 4 tournaments entered.

I’m annoyed right now but I’m sure a result next Tuesday will help me get over it!

Really hoping that the scouts are working overtime on getting a proper (I.e. goal-scoring) striker in in January.

  20. ah’m no sayin Lennon should do one, but if he’s wantin ti play wi thi big boys of the champions league and dust doon his suit for hampden in may he needs ti get his act together. we’ve got NO right to win games but honestly, how many folk oot there believe teams fear us nowadays????

oor coughin and splutterin through league campaign’s and gettin done by lower league teams in domestic cups. no guid enough!

ah’m no a Lennon hater or anti Lennon but it’s aboot time he AND his staff took a long hard look at themselves, this IS oor bread and butter and we need to be doing better than this.

WE’VE BACKED LENNON FROM DAY 1 PLAERNG AND MANAGER BUT SORRY YOU FOLK THAT DINNI LIKE IT, HE AIN’T ABOVE CRITICISM.

  21. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon, supporting WEE OSCAR..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

Just back in from the game….beaten by cluggers….won’t read back, since there will be a few happy hunlurkers crawling out from under their gravestones….. One thing is for sure, though ..Rogic and McGeoch are not going to make the grade ….cannot understand why our midfielders don’t support the strikers up front against this level of opposition …. No pace or urgency again…

Basically, they were up for it, and we weren’t….. It’s a funny old game …well done to Morton

  22. Just in in record time, EuroChamps67 wasn’t hanging about with the driving, in his black Dodge Charger.

Shocking night in Paradise where the the fastest thing about Celtic was the new WIFI.

Thought Morton played exceptionally well in defence, but would play there till the end of the season without scoring had Efe Ambrose not slipped and let the ball touch his extended arm whilst lying on the ground.

Some inconspicuous, men in the Celtic side, tonight but not a night for scapegoating, in a devalued tournament that haunts Celtic and from the minute they shut the top tier, a mausoleum atmosphere decends, and envelopes the team.

How Lustig and one or two others contrived to miss near the end, beggars belief, but it’s a bad team plan when you throw the Centre Half on as a striker, and when that flops, you try the Goalkeeper.

Not to worry, the real Celtic support with be back with us next Tuesday, and we’ll have the extra, instead of invisible men.

  23. Borderland hoy

Hampden in May??? To do what??

The place is SHUT till after the commonwealth games

  24. Setting free the bears

Surprised you are not defending Lou macari as Celtic manager as chief happy clapper

We got beat off a pub team because the manager failed. In 4 seasons we have won 2 Scottish Cups and 0 league cups with our esteemed manage plus threw away a league at ICT.

With an experienced manager we would have had at least 2 trebles.

I hope to god he resigns. The next failure is not too far away.

  25. What we should all be most disappointed about tonight is the fact that those on the fringes failed to take another opportunity to stake a claim for a first team place. Some like Balde weren’t given the chance. Very worrying. Falling to Morton at home is unacceptable. Derision is what we’ll get and derision is what we deserve. Neil Lennon and Peter Lawell have a lot of thinking about what needs to be done to avoid any repetition of this year’s transfer window mismanagement for the next time round.

Always one match away from a crisis perhaps but this one seems to be of our own making. Oh and for those who say the league cup doesn’t matter have a think about whether your attitude extends to the players and management? Soon we’ll not care whether or not the team wins at all or what sort of performances we have at any time.

    Not at all happy.

  26. tommytwiststommyturns supporting Wee Oscar on

As soon as I left the park tonight I sent a text to one of my oldest mates who was in among the large Ton support and told him “we’ll done” and no excuses from us.

I’ve seen too many of these games/results to be too surprised and I couldn’t give a feck about trebles. The league and a long run in Europe is success for Celtic in my eyes. And smaller clubs winning cups while the Zombies toil is about as far from Armageddon as you can get!

The languid, lateral movement of the ball on the park was painful to watch and had me wondering what our coaching team do all week at Lennoxtown?!

The buck stops squarely with the manager and his back room team tonight.

Was also really surprised by how many auld geezers sit in WS2….nae offence, Gordon! :-)

When does Balde go out on loan?

He’ll be back with a mid table Portuguese league team by January.

He’s appears to be this year’s Mo Bangura, signed by someone and not wanted by the manager.
