He’s a coach, and a lot of people find him offensive.

  3. Bang!!

Down to earth after yesterday’s crowing about our financial results – a very poor football result – to lose to a lower side at home (including extra time).

Well done to Morton (through gritted teeth) – 2 shots on target (one the pen) in 120 minutes. Lost count of our stats – inability to put the ball in the net and tactics(?) need to be questioned (attitude?).

    Don’t know the answer – it’s a mystery!

  4. If anyone cares..

  5. Aye, Lenny must go right enough :-)

Some posters are enjoying having a two year old’s tantrum. “I don’t like my old doll and I demand a new one!”

Who’s first to suggest we bring in Paolo Di Canio?

I am out of here and will leave it to the venters.

If anyone makes a sensible post, could you put a couple of asterisks at the start so I can pick you out when I scroll by the weans?

  6. we’ve a chance to really make something big at our club, there are millions rolling in and trophies and titles for the taking!

we’ll no dae that wi ambrose’s and balde’s

    HH

  7. The one player Celtic have who has shown a bit of ability in the air was kept on the bench for 2 hours while Celtic failed to make even an attempt on goal from 28 corners.

Surely with 20 minutes to go and after the 18th impotent corner, Balde should have been introduced for his height and presence alone. But Lenny would rather play a centre-half up front than risk a forward he paid good money for, against Greenock Morton.

    I just don’t get it.

  8. Setting free the bears , turn up

Any Celtic fan worth their salt would criticise that garbage

We have a puppet as a manager who contractual bonus is linked to financial KPIs

We have a manager who has failed multiple times starting from throwing the league away at ICT , Killie, St Mirren, hearts, plus others. Tonight is the lowest of the low.

He never motivated the team. He didn’t not buy a creative player. Pedro bought a forward not a striker. Fingobasson should have been bought instead if of Pukki and Balde.

Lenny should be sacked for what is gross incompetence tonight. Hopefully he does the decent thing and resigns.

I don’t think any zombie will say worse than that about our illustrious manager. I want him out.

    Who do you think?

  10. Philbhoy - Bring it on!!!! on

    Why no Balde tonight?

On the bench, then the manager moves Virgil to centre forward in extra time.

    Is Balde injured?

Or is there another reason Neil?

    We DESERVE to be told.

  11. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Well well well. Seems like Dougie Imrie has improved his penalty taking since last time I saw him. Back in April 2011 he put a timid “passback” straight into McGregor’s hands while the Rangers 1872 keeper finished a cup of tea before diving down. Ultimately gave them the championship……

  12. notthebus

I think you’ve got me confused with someone else.

I hardly ever say anything bad about Neil Lennon but tonight those players I mentioned were numpties. They played in a clueless fashion and deserve stick.

I’d hardly say the word numpties is a strong or out of order word.

  13. Another league cup shocker. The new players needed to play and after what i’ve been reading are going to need a few more.

getting a bit worried about our forward play we are not very clever, in fact plain stupid at times.

    KTF

  14. Crowd of 20k

People moaning that the players don’t care (myself included by the way)

However, when we as fans show such apathy to this cup is it really a surprise.

It’s a bit hypocritical of us to get out knickers in a twist about a game we couldn’t be bothered going to. Again, myself included.

Kudos to the Tims that went tonight, more gutted for you bhoys than anything else.

Calling for the managers head though??? Some folk need to calm down.

  15. Emus

I agree, we should have played the same sort of team that beat Lpool.

Mixing and matching just doesn’t seem to work for Lenny, for why, no idea.

Still, if we get a result next week, he will be a hero.

Wages have been cut over the past 12 years, prices have increased in tandem. Supporters are forced to pick and choose the games they can afford to attend.

No-one should judge a supporter based on their ability to afford a ticket for a game. This club isn’t a place for the ‘loads a money’ arrivistes who turn up on the south-side out of hatred.

We lost tonight. We have no right: divine, dignified, destined or pre-arranged with the officials to win games. Victories are earned. Lessons will be learned, win, lose or draw!

  17. John Park and the scouts are always getting plaudits about their great signings, well why don’t they sign a decent striker. If you add up the money they have spent on strikers ,fees plus wages I bet it will be close to 15 m.A disgraceIMO.John Park is one lucky man who stept into Hibernian FC when most of the talent was already there.

  18. Philbhoy - Bring it on!!!! on

I will ask the Celtic players about that performance tonight when I see them at the Corinthian at about 2am.

Boerrigter ..sand dancer ,Biton …too soon to comment

Balde…looks dreadful IMO ….Moyokolo..injured as expected

IMO we are substantially worse than last season ….

  20. tully57 - praying for Wee Oscar on

    Well done Morton.

Disappointing as this is, we have proof tonight that the game is alive & well in Scotland.

Like Stein, McNeill, O’Neill and Strachan teams….this Celtic team has no divine right to win.

All of those great Celtic managers suffered embarrassing defeats and Lennon has suffered a few as well. This was up there, if not as bad as Ross County at Hampden.

Thank God that so far, Lenny’s achievements – including punching well above his weight in the CL – totally outweigh his failures.

Think positive bhoys – things could be worse you know…..

History will show that the decade starting in 2011 will be a very enjoyable one for Celtic fans, despite the odd blip along the way.

  21. Good evening all

What a load of absolute nonsence being posted on here tonight. I can only imagine there is a large hun infitration. Me, I live my Celtic Supporter life based on, ‘We don’t care if we win lose or draw” so we lost tonight, big f@@@@@g deal. We will come back to winning ways, and all you negatonians can eat your own excrecia. That is all you are worth.

There is an eejit who sits in 439 with his brother and says nothing through every winning Celtic performance, not a peep and barely a smile, but shouts for Lenny to go every time we drop a point?

Fans like that would see us change managers every 3 games.

I’ll stick with NFL, successful manager of Celtic. You stick with fetishising the League Cup, a competition that Jock lost in 71, 72, 73, 74, 76 and 77.

    Goodnight CQN

  26. Terrible result, but for some to scream for Lennons head is ridiculous. To describe some of our new players as puddings etc is equally ridiculous. I seem to remember Henrik hardly shinning in the beginning. All top teams have the odd awful result. That’s football and that’s what the Barca fans thought in 2012 when we beat them. Yes terrible result, but lets stop the personal slagging, as if Lennon and our coaching staff can’t see a lot more than some of the experts on here.

  27. emusanorphan (22:25): “We create very few chances. Thats why we don’t put teams to bed.”

    BBC match stats:

    Shots: Celtic 25

    On target: Celtic 10

    Corners: Celtic 27

    <Result: Celtic 0 Morton 1

    That’s hardly “very few chances”.

    For comparison, elsewhere tonight…

    Shots: Man City 24

    On target: Man City 12

    Corners: Man City 8

    <Result: Man City 5 Wigan 0

The main difference in the conversion rate is more than likely down to the fact that Celtic featured Pukki, Stokes, Commons, McGeouch and Rogic in the more advanced positions, while Man City featured Edin Džeko (£27M), Jesús Navas (£15M), Stevan Jovetić (£22M) and Yaya Touré (£24M) …plus over £120M on the rest of tonight’s team.

Perhaps if we’d taken a punt on just one £7M striker in August, we’d have beaten Milan and annihilated St. Johnstone and Morton.

  28. Gutted that we have not eaten into the former Rangers clubs League Cup supremacy in the past 3 years but Loving all the usual whingers getting something to moan about.

Who needs the clown imposters on here when we have our malcontent fringe who couldn’t even be bothered to go themselves.

Just who exactly would have come to play in our quality league for the kind of funds we could pay. Which agent would see Celtic as a great opportunity for their proven talent.

Get real. … …. Or maybe just get back to moaning about the board or playing the paranoid victim chaps. …..
