    No one has come close to the autrocities committed by the American and British empires, meanwhile we should believe everything they tell us about Russia.

     

    I’m wiling to accept Russia are baddies but not from either of those sources.

     

    I also understand there is a major propaganda war between Russia and the west, I’ve only recently been exposed to Russian propaganda and to be honest they very rarely expect anyone to accept unknown sources as reliable, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever seen it used by the Russians. I do however know it is standard practice here that most seem to accept only to be informed in small print a few months or years down the road it was a lie.

    In reality there is NO threat to us or europe or the US from Russia.

     

    Plenty of threat and posturing from the west towards Russia though.

     

    The war industry needs a scapegoat and Russia fits the bill.

    You accept the Russians are capable of doing bad stuff….but not as bad as what has been done by America/Britain and you accept that there is Russian propaganda but not as bad as American/British/Western propaganda

    The drip drip drip of mainstream propaganda is easily recognized by Tims when its Truths relate to Sevco, the SFA and other Lazy journalism

    On more serious matters than Scottish Fitba, the ‘Truths’ from MSM are more sophisticated, coordinated and are accepted as legitimate.

     

     

    Maybe people do not have the time or inclination to research subjects outside their immediate interest. Maybe a simplistic good guys/bad guys narrative is comforting. Or maybe cognitive dissonance prevents accepting hard truths.

     

     

    Here in the US I am watching intelligent people parrot MSM fake news with no evidence, I am watching a soft coup attempt unfold, backed by MSM. Supporter of Trump or not, he was elected President, he wants good relationship with Russia. This has seriously pissed of powerful people who want war, hot or cold, because they will make money from it.

     

     

    This precedent could render any future elections here invalid.

     

     

    Anyways Canamalar, I suspect you are fully aware of all this. Just conveying my support to your position. I too am confused that people can see through propaganda in one area, but be blind to it in others.

If the yanks wanted to stop the horror they simple needed to stop the money but it was more important they end the last secular govt in the Middle East to appease their Saudi and Israeli allies so that Israel can claim the oil under the occupied golan heights and Qatar and the UAE can put their gas pipeline through Syria without the permission of the population.

    So the buildings in Aleppo fell down by themselves? The Russians played no part in it. Is that what you would have us believe?

     

     

    You’re entitled to your views on Russia, I just don’t share them. Most of us on here are aware that the world is an imperfect place. None of the countries who had empires are without sin. However, I happen to live in the west and I’m disturbed when I hear, see or read about atrocities carried out by or inspired by any of these former empires or in countries that were not imperialist. It’s the biggest case of whataboutery imaginable.

     

     

    At the end of the day, I imagine there aren’t many refugees or people from 1st, 2nd or 3rd World countries queuing up to emigrate to Mother Russia in the way they are wanting to gain entry to Western countries.

    At this moment the media and european governments are confused as to what position to take. Normally US policy is what our country follows and the BBC press dutifully does likewise.

     

    The new president wants to go a different way towards russia and other things . Most of the media are still stuck on the old track and maybe waiting to see if Trump is toppled by the deep state.

     

    If Trump survives I predict the worlds media will soon be singing from his song book.

    One story I was told about was spilling ink over Big Billy . Billy was going ballstic at him when the ink disappeared from his shirt. It was trick ink which dissolved after a few minutes.

     

     

    Murty doing his gymnastics today when the sevs missed a late chance , reminded me of the photo Roy Croppie occasionally posts , of McLoy landing on his heid after our third goal in the 4 2 game at Ibrox in 1983.

    I think Dom was an easterhouse punter, when he was manager of East Stirling one of my pals had a wee run out with them, his “trial” was up against some unknown teenager who went on to play with Motherwll, Dortmund & Celtic….. The night before he played his last trial my mate got dragged along to a party in the Kasbah in Easterhouse, standing at the bar he got a tap on the shoulder “don’t bother turning up the morra” the rest is history if BigShuggy is lurking he will know the Easterhoose eijit I type of :-)

    Gerry, at least your pal would have had a drink to ‘drown his sorrows’ when Dom broke the news to him.

     

     

    I think Dom made his debut for us against the first clumpany to play out of Ibrox. He did a sterling job for us but was given a lot of grief at times by people around me at our home games.

     

     

    Paul McStay eventually replaced Dom in our midfield . No a bad player to lose your place to.

    I will go with you being genuine and do not have time to do your own research.

     

     

    Simply put, normally intelligent people are blaming Russia for the election of Trump. The CIA have asserted this, but provided no evidence. There is a distinct lack of critical thinking when the media are taken as gospel.

    Aleppo has been “WAR ZONE” since 2011, it is now 2017.

     

    A war paid for by the west to do what exactly ?

     

    Reduce peoples suffering ffs that’s just sick and stupid.

     

    The USA, and the rest of the west were arming Al Qaeda and ISIS through Saudi, Turkey and Isreal before the “popular uprising” and “civil war”, that was fought and armed by the foreigners in Syria, Lybia and Iraq.

     

    It’s the same people who tell you there are not enough resources to go round.

     

     

    I just get sick of watching the same shite and us blaming somebody else because we want to invade them, it happens because people don’t really want to know the truth, most people like plausible deniability.

    Might have been clearer if you’d said ‘influenced the outcome of’ rather than ‘hacked’.

     

     

    I know you use words differently over there.

     

     

    For example we say crisps, and you say potato chips.

     

     

    And what we call chips you call fries. You used to call them French fries, but I think you now call them Freedom fries.

     

     

    I sometimes thing it would be better to communicate with you guys in Latin, to avoid confusion.

     

     

    Regarding your point though, it’s been reported over here that the leaking of Clinton’s emails affected how people voted, and that the Russians were responsible for the leaks.

     

     

    I don’t know how true either statement is, or whether it is possible to prove either statement.

     

     

    Would the Russians be technically capable of hacking the emails? I suspect so.

     

     

    Would it suit their purposes to do so? I suspect so.

     

     

    On balance it’s probably just as irrational to believe they didn’t as to believe they did.
