Thanks Kevjungle. You would’ve loved my Dad. He often mentioned his Uncle Johny, who my Dad considered a REAL Celtic man. Dad would say to uncle Johny, “I’ll see you at the match on Saturday”. (My Dad stood at the Celtic end) uncle Johny would reply, ” you know where to find me”. He stood directly under the Tricolour above the jungle.HH

  2. Dom Sullivan ?

I remember wan night in the Jungle in the mid 80’s vs the huns and DS was rank….

The Jungle were shouting for George McLuskey to come on and replace DS….

But, big Cesar took off, Davie Provan…..

Well, l think that the boo’s fae the Jungle at big Cesars decision that night made up, Desmond White’s mind to get rid of Cesar at the end of the season.

    Celtic and cliques don’t go.

  3. Calleyroadbhoy57 – fella, yer just….grand:>)

John Doyle….he was directly under the tricolor when he was sent off in the magical 4 – 2 gemme, Cellic’s best night since Lisbon 67…IMHO

Just when I was I despair during my catch up,

Up to my knees in politics,

Your post about your dad was a shining light in a sea of darkness.

My own dad passed on to a painless heaven 28 years ago this month and hardly a day passes without thanking him for being an example I can never emulate.

This year is the centenary of the apparition of Fatima.

May 13, 1917 was the first apparition of the Holy Mother.

  7. The season so far has been a roller coaster for us.

One that is only going upwards, higher and higher.

There’s no chance that I will be punished for the glee I’m taking over the downward spiral of the newest team in Glasgow, is there?

Is anyone highlighting the muppets, literally, who predicted that the tribute act would sweep all before them?

Where is BFDJ and all the other Level 5 mouthpieces who proclaimed that Brendan would be eclipsed by the pan loaf? He and they are toast.

Before this season is over we will need to invent a new phrase for the compliant MSM who valued their circulation more than their better judgement.

    Shadenfreude is insufficient.

  8. Tomorrow is Presidents’ Day here.

    A holiday.

    No early rise.

No kids going out to school.

And it has been a glorious weekend.

    Win for ourselves.

Win for Paul Hartley and Darren O’Dea.

And all done while we experienced glorious sunshine and spring like temperatures.

It’s hard to give up such a weekend but needs must.

And it’s a good night from me.

  11. To those that call the political commentators ‘zoomers’…

Ten years ago this site, at night, discussed the political economy of the world, including the Fitba world, within, without.

Some said Murray International Holdings were a dead man walking, due to certain bubbles, Derivative Swaps Etc… other Tims laughed and said MIH had secured themselves by investing in property. Bricks. Safe as houses.

My point is that years ago, Tims were wrong, even when this place was one of the more informed forums. Now it is more successful forums, less likely to listen, let me say this….

The ‘credit crisis’ that brought down MIH, and the banks, was never resolved. Rather a band aid was placed over it…. and it is coming back.

Those of you who ridicule posters who you call Sooners, because they raise the thorny issue of politics, are just like the Huns you ridicule. If you were blind or inexperienced.. You would have an excuse. You do not.

This was once a great site. Informative, full of debate, yet civil in its disagreements. No longer. Now name calling rules the roost. Interesting…

    As Paul67 used to say…

A Hard Rain Is Gonna Fall…..

But by then everyone would have forgotten the thoughtless push posted on here…

    G’Night.

It’s difficult to tell if they are being funny on purpose or not -some of the inmates are ridiculously witty in the midst of the most unimaginable anger.

    Outrage.

That, quite simply, is not true.

  17. In the Introduction to The Simpsons, Marge is at the check-out and Maggie and a heavily eye-browed child are kind of challenging each other. Well, that is what I see when Jobo ( Maggie) and Ianbhoy (Eyebrow) introduce their respective arrivals on here each morning 0:-)

  18. Telegraph …Tierney hits back at Bowman……. (my bolding)

“Straight away I thought something bad had happened. He caught me on the kneecap. It was a horrible challenge. You know sometimes when you have done something and my knee is all cut. I feared the worst. Thankfully it was okay. I got lucky.

Having just come back from injury, the last thing I wanted was another one. The pitch has a bobble on it but there are no excuses. It was a bad tackle. He just said sorry to me after it. I didn’t say much back. I thought straight away it was a red card.

If you look at my knee just now and the fact he caught me with his studs that high then you’d think it would be but that’s not my decision. The knee is sore but other than that, it’s fine.”

  19. Bognorbhoy

A very measured response from KT and a typically insidious media headline.

    JJ

PS For those who see the MSSM, do any of the `papers highlight the tackle and/or the decision?

  20. Bognorbhoy

He went into that tackle to injure our player.

I’m a huge fan of Brendan, and could listen to him talk tactics and player development all day long.

His comments however on that tackle, where he cites that perhaps the pitch was to blame , disappointed me .

    It was a blatant assault.

No doubt in my mind it was deliberate. Therefore BR and I have our first difference of opinion.

At the game, from my view in 106 ( opposite side from the `incident` ) , I though it just looked clumsy and I can understand Brendan`s point. On TV, I see it as you do.
