  1. Totally outclassed tonight by a much better team, but that’s what loads of money gets you.

Hardly laid a glove on them, and the second half was a training exercise for PSG.

  2. Bigger clubs from smaller countries are Just there to make up the numbers and happy to take the money. The CL is no longer a competition palyed on a lvel playing field/

I came to this conclusion quite years ago and have not watched a CL match since god knows when. It is for the exclusive benefit of corporate sponsors and a handful of mega rich clubs which now includes PSG because of they are backed by an oil rich corrupt state.

The gulf continues to grow each year and nothing will change unless the big clubs from smaller countries withdraw from the competition and establish a competition to rival the CL. We should be pushing for two conference arrangement like they have in the USA. A pan-Europe competition which includes big teams from Scotland, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Scandi and Balkan countries would be attractive to TV companies because of the total population. If these countries didn’t participate in the CL it could no longer claim to be the only pan-national competition in Europe. It would soon lose some of it’s lustre and eventually some of it’s big sponsors because of the TV coverage would be smaller. If that means breaking away from Uefa then so be it.

The alternative is to hang on in there, get regularly gubbed but be compensated by crumbs from the rich man’s table.

Having a party in the Champions League. You are having a laugh more like.

  3. Celtic Champs Elect on

Top top team no disgrace in losing to that team thought young Anthony was outstanding against the most expensive player in the world

The pass and movement was exceptional by PSG

    Onwards and upwards to anderlecht

  4. Far better movement, pace and one-touch quality play all-round from PSG. Well, they can afford it obviously. But it isnae a level playing field unfortunately. We were chasing shadows in the first half, but much better in the 2nd. Unfortunate own goal was a sickener and heads went down after that. Referee made a contribution, not to our benefit on a few occasions, but that didn’t make any difference over the piece. Ralston played well I thought, and took no crap from Neymar (who, btw, represents everything that’s wrong with football nowadays).

Anyway, onwards to Saturday v Ross County.

I just hope that Paddy`s reaction on his substitution was just one of frustration at his own performance.

    All in all.

A work in progress .In spite of tonight`s result , for me there is definite progress.

Defensive absentees handicapped us. Nevertheless , Ralston looks like a real contender for stardom .

Now. Fun at the expense of the hun on Friday .

  6. Sick as a dog with the gulf in class with my team and the big guns in Europe. What is the fecking point. I know the money is the answer but that’s no comfort to me. Is it worth the humiliation of nights like tonight. To make it worst it was at Parkhead.

    Interesting idea.

Wonder if there`s something of that nature going on behind the scenes.

  8. I havent read back and I dont intend to, as some on here are MAY well have been slagging off Celtic players during the match ?

    I dunno.

But IF so…get a grip………..PSG are way ahead of us…and probably MOST of other teams in Europe.

we tried, but we couldnt lay a glove on them…it happens.

God Bless Brendan and The Bhoys.

    HH

  9. Thought we played much better in the second half and what a prospect we have in “Big Unit” Ralston……….

    …any relation to Big Judy?

    Win, Lose or Draw CSC

  10. Hope Brendan keeps the heads up after that, nothing to be ashamed of tonight, except the one idiot who ran onto the pitch.

UEFA are presiding over a competition that is really only for the super rich, financially doped clubs.

LaLiga reported this mob – not even the Champions of France – to UEFA last week for breaking the FFP rules.

A well run club that lives within its means has no chance.

We have moved into a new era in football. So Celtic can take the cash while we have a qualifying route open to us, it will make us stronger domestically, legitimately.

Playing the Champions of Norway was real football. Being sent to Asia didn’t feel much like European football and tonight certainly didn’t feel like the European Cup.

Europa League should be our goal.

    We

  11. TET

For over 60 years I’ve been spouting about subjects I know nothing about.

I can babble nonsense at the drop of a hat. :-)

  12. PSG are good but ee made them look great.

We lost the game in the dressing room.

The amount of unforced errors was ridiculous.

We slipped, trod on the ball and fell over our own feet all night.

Our collective head just wasnt in it.

However well played AR and JS — you stuck to your task, offered them no respect and didnt hold back.

    Nobody else could say that.

  13. naivety tonight robbed us of having a fight for a point – should have defended deeper – BR dreaming too much unrealistically. i know it , you know it

  14. Cultsbhoy says Hail Hail to Hector and Brendan on

Tonight was an experience ..that’s all.

Tonight was a free hit..shot to nothing. No expectations..just part of the learning and developing…

  15. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

Dramatic difference between our domestic game , patiently playing the ball out of defence and tonight`s first half.

    Overawed I think .

  16. RON67 on 12TH SEPTEMBER 2017 8:31 PM

i get the impression we started this game without any believe that we could get a result and just to try and keep score down but if we are going to get a humping then lets do it by having a go at them.

posted this earlier, it could have been worse if they hadn’t went down a gear or two in second half.

  17. Doesn’t Chris Sutton talk a load of sh!te? Like there were loads of top CL quality centre halves begging Celtic to give them the opportunity to quarter their wages to play week in week out in the freezing rain at Dingwall, Perth and Kilmarnock!

Look at the match stats… shots, corners, etc. Our players allowed the most expensive strike force (by a long way) in the history of association football just 10 shots at our goal. That, incidentally, is exactly the same number as Astana managed when they visited Celtic Park… and we won that one 5-0.

Our Bhoys did as well as they could on the night against a stellar team, and PSG will win 5-0 against much better resourced teams than us in the remainder of this season.

Let’s all put it behind us and look ahead to wining the next game.

  18. This was a demonstration of the Haves and the Have Nots tonight.

I can’t wait to see the gap between the Have Nots and the IveNoeACreditLineButGonnaeGiesWanAYerMexicansFurFreeAmigo

  19. I was full on hope, low on expectation.

That’s as talented a side to visit Celtic Park as I’ve seen.

We pass teams off the pitch in Scotland week in week out. Tonight seen us get a lesson in how to pass it even more efficiently and at a quicker space.

An established centre half pairing wouldn’t have stemmed the tide to any great extent that it would have made much difference.

We suffered a similar doing in Barca last year, and suffered home defeats to Barca and Borrusia M. We picked ourselves up and didn’t lose another game all season.

I’ll take a similar scenario this season.

The reality is that hope was all we really had going into that one tonight, and within 5 mins it was obviously going to be a long night.

Always down when we lose, but I’m sure there are some great times still ahead of us this season. I’m still of the opinion we can grab third spot.

Quality outfit destroyed us tonight. They’ll dish out similar doings to better teams than us.

    On to the next game.

    KTF

  20. I hope Ralston is the next Danny McGrain, I really do, but tonight he was given a baptism of fire.

Skinned at the first and lost at the second.

In hindsight Lustig should have played against Neymar

  21. Brendan Rodgers: “PSG are three or four levels above us but at times during first half we played like Under-12s”

  22. Home. Exhausted. Men of the Match (with one sickening obvious exception) – The Fans. Stayed a Full House until Goal Number 4 and kept singing till the 93rd minute.

    But that one idiot…….

  23. Let’s face it,they done to us what we do our league teams

    We just can’t compete

In saying that, we’ll f*** in France ;))))

    HH

  24. If we couldnt find a CL quality CB during the summer — when will we ever be able to find one?

ES needed replaced — we failed.

    Big mistake.

We needed a new RB — again failure.

Something wasnt right during the summer.

We have underachieved and tonight was the latest instalment.

  25. TWISTS N TURNS

Agree with you Twists that we can grab third, we were always going to be aiming for that in this group if we’re honest and that would be an improvement on last year.

Progress this year to football after Christmas would make this Tim very happy..

    Bring on the Belgians
