Hamilton Tim,
For what it’s worth, I’d go along with the texts you received. Thought he did give the ball away slightly more than I’m used to seeing him do right enough, but for me, he was the best of the midfielders by some distance.
That’s my point I’m not comparing it to anything other than tonight’s opposition.

I think we as fans emphasise our mistakes and underplay our positives.
We were the better side but they are neat and tidy and can cause us problems over there.
We are much the more physical team tho and hopefully that will be good for a goal from a set play again,
Our front four ooze work ethic but are well short on quality. Work rate may get us thru tho.
I felt all 3 sides in the Europa League group stages caused us more problems than Qarabag at Celtic Park by the way

they were just so much more comfortable on the ball than us – having said that, a goal for us over there and they will have to score 3 which may be beyond them.

he will do a turn for us though Leigh is a better goalscorer he would have struggled tonight.

Delighted with result, and thought tactically Qarabag played us very well
They set up to ensure we had no space, and take out our playmakers movement
Couldn’t believe the amount of diving the number 10 got away with
Nir Bitton was struggling with a calf injury for 5 – 10 mins prior to going off
I counted 8 times in first half Broonie passed the ball to no one
Actually thought we had a few players nowhere near their own standard, all down to the way Qarabag forced us to play
I actually thought Ciftci played ok, 3 or 4 times he broke with absolutely no support
And also well done Izzy who stayed on the park for last 6 or 7 mins, looked like he had done his hamstring ?
Anyway, a 1 goal lead to protect next week, so onwards and upwards Bhoys

Thought Broonie had a poor game tonight, particularly until Nir Biton went off. His passing was poor and he needlessly got involved in confrontations – he will need to avoid any of that next week.
Overall I would have taken 1 – 0 at any stage in the game or before it. We will see how good Qarabag are when they attack. Hopefully we can score and that should settle it. Also thought GMS was more effective playing on the left.

Agree totally that GMS, Stuart A and Jo Hanson well underperformed and it’s a long time since we saw Broony so slack with his passes. They will also have spotted that Izzy is our weak link defensively.
Can’t understand why we weren’t pressing high throughout the game. When we did they were panicked and slack, when we didn’t they just passed the ball around us.
Fortunately they showed little up front tonight and our defence (minus Izzy) contained them well.
If we can score across there then they will need to score 3 – unlikely. Griffiths must start – he has all the energy we need and is the on-form striker to take the few chances we might create.
As for Forrest – he should play for them – and fall over at the slightest provocation.
We had few decent cross balls – pity because that team were so obviously vulnerable at corners – as proved to be the case.
We can only and must perform better across there. Team selection will be crucial as It will be hot and tiring so no passengers. We are a better team than them – we just need to perform as we can and we will progress.

The Green and white scarecrow as everyone knows
Stood with a bird on his hat and straw everywhere.
He didn’t care.
He stood in a field where barley grows.
His head did no thinking
His arms didn’t move except then the wind cut up
Rough and mice ran around on the ground
He stood in a field where barley grows.
The Green and white scarecrow is sadder than me
But now he’s resigned to his fate
‘Cause life’s not unkind – he doesn’t mind.

Tough game tonight and I thought we were ok. Qarabag set out their gameplan for a 0-0 and looked to be containing us comfortably. Both our chances came from crosses where Virgil was unlucky with a header and Bhoyata showed a lot of commitment to win the ball for his goal.
After we scored they opened up a bit to chase a goal but by then we were pretty tired. A 1-0 win is obviously better than a 0-0 but I think we are going to need to score over there. I didn’t think they had much at all going forward so we will see next week if they were holding back intentionally.
Cifti struggling to fit in so far. Maybe he just needs a goal. Unfortunately, I think it is time to move James on. Kris opened them up when he came on and delivered a perfect cross for the goal. Broonie was excellent first half but seemed to tire. Same with GMS. Perhaps the fitness levels are not there yet.
MOM for me was Virgil who was rock solid. All to play for next week

Embramike, agree on players mentioned, also though Lustig looked to be struggling in 1st half ?
I also noted, that for set pieces, they do not have the height to match us, so a decent corner or free kick next week could give us a decent chance next week ?
Keeper had a good save from VVD on one, and Ciftci had a good effort on the turn at another, plus our goal
That’s my point I’m not comparing it to anything other than tonight’s opposition.

Lean your head over and hear the wind blow
Hear the wind blow love, hear the wind blow
Hang your head over and hear the wind blow.
Oh, winds of the night, may your fury be crossed
May no one who’s dear to our island be lost
Blow the winds gently, calm be the foam
Shine the light brightly and guide them back home.
(Chorus)
The currachs* are sailing way out on the blue
Laden with herring of silvery hue
Silver the herring and silver the sea
And soon there’ll be silver for baby and me.

The nets will be drying, the nets heaven blessed
And safe in my arms dear, contented he’ll rest.
