  1. Too many players didn’t turn up today. They were up for it and caught us on a bad day. Beat fair and square. Their game plan was to stop us playing ours. Slow everything down at every opportunity and foul whenever we broke free. No help from the ref. Disappointed but let’s get focus on the league and get it over the line with games to spare. Thought O’Riley improved us when he came on – there’s great potential there.

  2. You don’t have to be tall to have a bit of steel and that is what we are missing.

If we play Taylor at the back he needs help.

We all know that there backs can’t defend good going forward new plan for next time.

RC we better be on our game no passengers.Over to you Ange.

Keevins loving this has a side bet with Dalziel on the League……….only if we drop points at RC.

  3. I am devastated to say the least. I was extremely confident before KO but it has to be said that the old firm deserved to win. They wanted it more than us and fought harder for 120 minutes.

Now hoping that the jam tarts win the final

    In Ange We Trust

  4. There’s no way Sevco will let Madden go in the summer window….. he’s been their best player for the last few seasons or more and single _handedly won them the semi today!!.

    Phil.

  5. I never understood the confidence, the huns are as good as us.

    It’s very even between us.

They wiill walk over the jambos.

  6. Frim a feklow St Tams and tbh dont often agree with you but bang on

Very disappointed today , but can’t say that I’m surprised.

We are far too lightweight and are bullied all over the park.

Too many players weren’t or aren’t capable of a fight.

As for team selection and substitutions, that’s what Ange will live or die by.

PS. Jota is the Portuguese Mikey Johnston, decision making is shocking

We lacked physicality in midfield. I do wonder if Carter Vickers could move to a DM role if we sign one or two tall centre halves.

    Hail Hail Brother

  11. It will be a long few days to lick our wounds but today the focus at lennoxtown must be County on Sunday.

There is a very narrow path to the huns winning this league and it starts with us dropping points on Sunday.

Should we get the 3 points, they’d need us to drop points in 3 from our last 4, with 3 of those games at CP.

A win on Sunday is a giant step to this league title.

Hopefully two weeks from now we’re champions elect and Leipzig have spanked them in the Europa.

Bit disappointed with Ange saying there was nothing untoward about the referee performance. I get he prefers not to comment on refs so then don’t comment. Just please don’t tell the fans there was nothing untoward. Just say no comment and move on.

  12. Sláinte Ange on

    An Dun at 6.08

Ange is entitled to express his honest opinion, regardless of whether you, or anyone else, agrees with it. He has always been this way. Long may it continue at Celtic.

    HH

  13. Ange is not here to take on the corrupt SFA or the lunatic fringe of the MSM, I have no issues with his PR which on the whole since he came I think has been excellent, the club has no backbone in regards to these issues the smartest guy in the room got nowhere, even when he was presented with prima facie evidence that demanded to be taken to EUFA the CEO and board bottled it, Ange is correct in ignoring to fight battles the club is terrified of, he has a huge task running an entire football dept including recruitment

Two main factors in yesterdays defeat, the arbiter and fourth offical selected yesterday were anything but independant/free from bias, Madden took refereeing back 40/50 years with that display, it was cheating he favoured his team, his tribe, how Bassey, Aribo, Jack and Lundstram all remained on the park was another chapter from a century old book of disgraceful refeeing performances, a lucrative career on the orange speaking circuits beckons, Kris Boyd can be his MC

    https://twitter.com/chris_sutton73/status/1515797741036789763?s=20&t=DgQs9zc9kHSauJowFsC9WQ

Second factor was the hunger and desire to be a winner in a semi final against your biggest rival, they wanted it more, they stopped us playing by physical intimadation we only had McGregor who was able to climb out of that defensive straight jacket in midfield, it then became a 50/50 game against a well drilled succesful Europa league team with the plus to Sevco of a compliant cheat in black, it was game on and there to be won

This is a big lesson for Ange, i love his philosphy, his ethics, the man himself, he has become a true Celt, but winning cup football in Europe and here under the auspices of an SFA run competition requires more than just playing the beautiful game with style and flair, sometimes the dirty overalls are required, as wee Bertie often said, get your retaliation in first

    Enjoy your Easter Monday

  14. Mornin’ troops…………..

A sore yin to take, but it is always a possibility when playing old firm fc – they had thur man advantage of course……….( take a bow Boabby)………

We should take the medicine and let it work on the collective constitutions of timdom. Every game now we play the old firm, every wee sleekit hun will want to do his duty, starting with ross county……………..

and we need to be ready for it…………….

I’ve said it for years now, Celtic, please call out the double standards of compromised officials…especially when we win.

Ange has achieved so much…far more than I’d hoped but so much has been taken from us by wee sleekit olf firm bams – we have to take a different approach to it.

    HHH.

  15. the long wait is over on

Disappointed of course but if yesterday does nothing more than

force everyone at and connected to Celtic to refocus on the fact that the league isn’t won it’ll have been

    it.

I’d far, far rather have lost that game than either of the two previous ones.

The league is , and always was, the target this year.

That we are within touching distance and have it in our own hands to win it after the disaster of last season is bordering on the miraculous.

  16. JHB on 17TH APRIL 2022 4:50 PM

So after all the nonsense non-football hullabaloo, we did indeed ‘go to war with a flag’ -it was a ‘phoney war’ & we flagged for 120 minutes.

DESPICABLE Post around 2 Hours after the final whistle, when Thousands and Thousands of Celtic supporters are hurting.

Your DEEP HATRED of the Celtic support was well noted on here some time ago, but FUNNILY ENOUGH…If you were being beaten up by a Mob of Hun fans after a game….YOU would be SCREAMING for HELP from those VERY SAME Celtic supporters who flew the Irish Tri Colour yesterday, if they were walking nearby !

You are one SNIDEY Individual…thats for sure.

I noticed that Post from ” JHB” @ 4.50 yesterday almost straight away…It was/is DELIBERATE TROLLING and GOADING of the real Celtic supporters on here.

The MODERATOR SHOULD be on his case.

That ” JHB” just cant help himself he is just a SNIDEY Hun.

I was going to Post my anger at his Post yesterday, but I feared that I may be banned again for telling that SNIDE CHUMP where to go…

    HH Mate.

  18. As disappointing as yesterday was I feel that we have to take our collective hats off to the core group

of players who have carried us this far. Injuries have been a nightmare this season and surely the club

must look to remedy this. As usual when the stats come out we will have players who have played the

most minutes in the season. Occasionally we will get a game like yesterday where it just doesn’t fire

and sadly it wasn’t the best game for it to happen. The Hun are a devious team who know that they will

be treated leniently by their friends in black, and so their tactics are self written. My only complaint from

yesterday would have been how obviously the midfield were under pressure and the changes came too late.

O’Reilly lit us up when he came on and is a great find. Onward and upward with a hope that weary limbs are rested this week and not over exerted in training.

‘They were up for it and caught us on a bad day. Beat fair and square’

    ###

The Masonic factor certainly played its part.

Madhun wasn’t even pretending to be even handed.

    What a country.

But lets not call it out. Might be considered rude.

  20. Strange performs from us considering how on form we were going into this.

We looked leggy and weak in the midfield.

Compared to the league game a few weeks ago I was very relaxed about yesterday as even a defeat

was never going to mean anything hugely significant as the main prize is the league.

Get over the line with that and we will look back at the game as unfortunate/ annoying but it’s all about taking our title back , this is the main prize by a county mile.

Ross county away is huge for us and I’m sure Ange will get us ready for that.

Moving forward with players in to the club we need to address the physical aspect of our squad.

Whoever comes in we need more height , more aggression to compliment our squad , for me that would be a LB , Wide player and Central midfield.

Not surprised by getting over run in the middle when you compare their hammer throwers to our midfield.

Eyes on the prize hoops .. just get out title back and yesterday will be forgotten about ( kinda of)!!

  21. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    An Dun,

I have to agree, worse ange is directly responsible for the health and wellbeing of his players, if he could not see how the referee’s decisions impacts the health and well being of his players then maybe he should not be in any management position.

  22. Good morning cqn from a wet and grey skied Garngad

    We move onto Ross County.

Some good posts I have just read. Madden is 1 of a long line of cheats dressed in black.

When you think about it we as a club have done brilliantly since our inception to win so many trophy’s in this cespit of a backwater called Scotland.

Our game will never move forward as long as the current incumbent’s of the sfa are still in charge and refuse to change. We just have to make the best out of playing against 15 men every week.

On the game yesterday, Aribo, Bassey, Jack and Maybe Lundstram should have been shown Red.

Let’s get this league in the bag and shut these clowns up.

    D :)

  23. Morning all (I hesitate to say Good).

Disappointed but unsurprised at the external influences affecting the outcome. That, however, did not shoot the ball into our net. We switched off at the (non) free kick immediately prior to the 2nd goal and paid the price. Such are the fine margins. Plus we were crap on the day. ‘It is not easy being a Celtic supporter, but it is always worthwhile’.

    HH

  24. Might I add that on the physical side of the game we were lacking, maybe missed big GG more than we thought we would at holding the ball up at their end.

Also when you see a referee being lenient surely as a player you try a couple of rough tackles?

At least that way you will be highlighting any other tackles by Huns who already have had yellows….then again it wouldn’t matter as the man in black has a game plan and it does not involve being fair to Celtic.

    D :)

  25. The Huns WILL beat the Jam Farts in the Final…easily.

Hertz have the Big Guy ” Simms” up front, who can be a handful t times, but I will bet that the Ref in the Final will penalise him every time he goes challenges a Hun player…especially in the air.

It wouldnt surprise me if the Ref in the Final gives Hertz ” Simms” TWO Yellows and a Red Card when they play the Huns. Other than Simms….Hertz have NO THREAT whatsoever.

    IMHO of course.

  26. Morning Jimmy.

Hope you are feeling better, although that result is enough to make us all sick.

  27. Eyes front. Win on Sunday and we will win the league. Madhun less covert than usual yesterday. When will our board demand that we follow suit with other countries and don’t allow refs who support certain teams, to officiate their match. We were poor on the day, yes. The Sevs snuffed out Rogic and Hatate was way off it. Who’d have imagined we’d end up with our backup right back playing left and our backup centre playing right back. Usual suspects, McGregor and CCV our best players again. Let them have their day yesterday and probably in the final, but let’s have the last laugh and get the job done in next three games.

  28. Did Big ANGE NOT WITNESS the ” MANHANDLING and WRESTLING” by Hun players on Tommy Rogic ?

It was the poorest show by Big Tom against the Hun that I can remember…but he was being FOULED every time he had possession….SIMPLES !

This was just ONE REASON why we were so poor in midfield yesterday.

Mr MODERATOR, IF you can be concerned about DELIBERATE TROLLING and GOADING of Celtic supporters on here, will you have a look at ” JHB’s” DESPICABLE Post on this Thread at 4.50pm yesterday ?

    if not…why not ?

  29. Parallels emerging with Wim’s 1997/98 season.

Celtic win League Cup but lose SC Semi to Ibrox outfit, who in turn lose to Hearts in final.

Celtic win the league (but hopefully before the last day this time).

I’m confident that Callum will have everyone ready to go for Dingwall on Sunday.

im just the same health wise, so I wont be going out Today, and I’ll just settle for watching the Racing on TV Today.

I am supposed to be meeting up Two of my auld Aunties in the next couple of days, for Tea and Cakes. I MAY have to cancel that meet, but one is 88 years old and still driving her car, and the other is 77 years old…BOTH of these GALS were like Big Sisters to me all my life, so I really dont want to disappoint them by cancelling, and as its just for an Hour or so, I will try my best to meet them.

THEY will be the ones having the Teas and Cake……I’ll be drinking Beer !
