Celtic have a poor Hampden record against Rainjurz, and a new one against same flies different sh*te Sevco.
From the kick off we were second best IMO, and our lightweight engine room misfired from the start against blood and snotter mercenaries FC, we looked like a punch drunk Braga all over again. Only Calum MacGregor weighed in, and we were lucky to get to half time before laying a glove on Sevco. biggest surprise was Greg Taylor’s deflected opener, and the eventual outcome hinged precariously from the moment CCV hit the bar which turned out to be the antithesis of Poundland.
Bobby Madden was everywhere even threw in his first half Bobby Tait time, but we couldn’t prevent digging deep into the squad to replace both ran ragged full backs Jura and Taylor. Forrest, Ralston, O’Riley, Turnbull Kyogo and Welsh ( I make it six too) all came on to marginally differing effect, but this was a bad day at black rock, wasn’t it?
Jota and Abada miserably failed to provide the width against Europa savvy Sevco no support for road runner Daizen who did his best work all day nearly getting to the ball before Goldstone, but all of them along with Ange’s jumper, will be there on flag decisive day, Europa runs are one thing Celtic must keep their eye on the prize.

Ridiculous comment. Under par performances happen. Not one player disgraced the jersey today.
Officialdom had decided the treble was not on this season Nir Bitton already sidelined through Steven McLean
It was a very high bar of cheating to overcome, I’m sure it was an eyeopener for a vastly experienced Ange, sadly for him he has a board and CEO who has the backbone of a jellyfish as far as the corrupt SFA are concerned
It’s Sevcos cup, last two league games against minis have been a cakewalk for Sevco smoking cigars, Robbie Nielsons team doesn’t have the referees, muscle, or the football talent
we were beaten by the bigotted ref and the ludge, simple.
Someone somewhere MUST take notice of this, it is a total embarrassment to Scotland and Scottish football.
We were never going to be allowed to win this game today, so please, stop blaming Celtic players, please.

Then a few additions in the summer, striker, mifielder x 2 and another centre back, assuiming we keep outr key players and we go again, this time makaing a better fist of europe

we’ve played virtually the same hun team each time this season
what’s been obvious, to me at least, is that if the team Ange puts out from that squad plays well we beat them every time. no need for big guys. defensive midfielders or more aggression in midfield.
we were awful today, we had two first choice strikers out the starting 11, and they still needed extra time and a miss from CCV. and a bit of help from madden to allow them to kick us unpunished.
we’ve seen enough of Ange’s Celtic to be confident that today wont happen again
I don’t think that was anything to do with being “bullied”. The spacing between the lines was way off.
We also looked like the team who played extra time mid week, not them.
Jota has been poor in most of the games against them and Abada isn’t generally massively involved in play (although his assists and goals have been crucial).
But ultimately they looked fitter than us which is the most galling thing about today. And I don’t think we even pressed that hard to use that as an excuse.

1st Feb, we blew the opposition away with pace and movement in first 45 mins
2nd half we lost control of midfield
2nd half we gave them the midfield, we were 3 up.
A couple of weeks ago, we won due to an outstanding disciplined performance by our defence, we lost the midfield in that game though
We were at an Ibrox full of orcs, we also made the best chance in the second half. And we won the game.
Today, again, we lost the midfield game
Now for me that is an ongoing concern
We lack physicality through the full team, with exception of 2 or 3 players
We beat them 5-1 on aggregate in the two games recently with that team, we were the better team in both games. Of greater concern to me is the lack of quality up front today. When you’re going 3 against 4 in midfield you’re always going to be up against it if your wide men don’t show up.

The Celtic performance today was deeply disappointing, Madden was shocking, if there was a fair VAR, we probably would have won but none of that takes away from fact that we made our own problems, Juranovic going off probably cost us the game.
Being deeply emotional & committed to a Football Club brings great highs & gut wrenching lows, if you can’t take the bad days you should look for another hobby.
With the huge swing either way on Champion’s League monies, this year was always going to be about the League. Starting out we were rank outsiders, we are currently 6 ahead with 5 games left,
Our confidence has been dented today, they have got a fillip and will now be eyeing the next Derby in Celtic Park, with a bit more hope.
The main prize is still out there, win it and today will only be an irritating statistic,
Ange & CalMac have a job to do, so have the Supporters.
Today’s game is dead & gone, the only game that counts is next week at Ross County.

The game at the snake mountain, again we could have scored 2 others hitting them on quick breaks

Our attitude was really off, but it happens.
it was a poor performance, but we’ve had 5 or 6 very good ones in the lead up to this and a couple against them recently so I think acceptance is fair enough.
We’ll be better on Sunday and at Celtic Park against them, of that we can be sure.
JHB on
The referee had no significant part in our defeat – we were sadljy inferior from mid to front, and were outplayed & outfought the vast majority of the game in those areas. The fact that CCV could/should have sealed it at 1-0, goes to show that the Ibrox lot are no world-beaters either.
Extrapolation is something many on here indulge in day & daily – let’s be clear, a 7-0 win against St Johnstone(second-bottom of the heap), is just that, no more, no less. “Extrapolate” – extend the application of (a method or conclusion) to an unknown situation by assuming that existing trends will continue or similar methods will be applicable. The trends were/ are totally different – *Rangers is NOT St Johnstone.
I pray our last six games of the season will not follow the same trend as our first six.
The title, of course, is there to be won – it will not be easy. We will possibly need to beat today’s opponent to do it – we won’t with another similar performance. I hope we can all discuss it without intimidatory bravado & minus the blinkers…..it’s worth discussing.

For me, the priority at the start of every season should be the league title, and a good run in Europe. The cups are nice to win but there is not a club in Europe that would choose a cup over a place in the Champions League. Europe is where reputations are made. And decent cash.
My disappointment just now will be nothing compared to next Sunday if we don’t leave Dingwall with three points.

Id agree, but I don’t remember another poor performance. We were at theirs in front of a full house of baying orcs and won without really being troubled. The defence and the goalkeeper are just as much responsible for a good performance in those games as the front 6.
When you play with 3 against 4 in midfield in a game like that you’ll have periods without the ball and times when you’re outmuscled, a 4-3-3 puts extra pressure on the defence at times, especially if the front 3 can’t keep hold of it or put any pressure on the opposition defence with an attacking threat or by pressing.
Control of midfield isn’t everything to a team like Celtic who play the whole length and width of the pitch. We play best when we move it through midfield quickly. We’re also playing much better with a team in front of us, defensive performances like the 135 minutes in the last 3 don’t happen by accident.
Ange is accused of not having a plan b but we’ve developed one and carried it out pretty well in the previous 2 games against them.
Today I don’t know what we were doing but I’ll bet it doesn’t happen again soon
