  1. We couldnt break their press in midfield as well as being tightly marked it also involded choke holds elbows strangulation and when we did shake it off we were hacked down, Madden allowed all of it, no way any other team would have got away with that, still disappointed in Ange who doesn’t seem to think refereeing played its part, we are being let down by all concerned not raising the refereeing in this country, all concerned.

  2. The problem with Scottish football is that the country is too small, and too riven by division, to produce enough referees who don’t have an emotional investment in the outcome of games, even if it wanted to, which it doesn’t.

No doubt this is all the fault of the English, The Union, Unionism, Westminster etc etc , and certainly nothing to do with Scotland or its people, but whatever the reason it’s a problem and there is no solution which is acceptable to the footballing authorities.

  3. Yesterday — all about the basics.

Ham and eggs scenario — We were involved / the TFOD2.1 were committed.

If they don’t win they don’t eat — it is the cup games that are keeping them afloat.

The MIB influence is huge — BM played a blinder.

However he got carried away and his efforts were easily recognisable.

Or they would be in a country that cares about football — we don’t.

The result is all that matters — “they” got what “they” wanted.

We have huge issues to deal with.

AP needs to be able to set the team up for the game in front of us.

We played the game we wanted to play not the game they were going to deliver.

The confidence diminished in the face of an aggressive high press.

Three good passes and we tore them apart.

Unfortunately we only managed it a couple of times and our efforts when we got through them and attacked their defence were pathetic – poorly timed passes / greedy behaviour / blooters over the bar.

We did not play as a team yesterday and that is something AP needs to fix.

He also needs to work on our conditioning / match preparation.

The more time he has the more injuries we pick up.

Either the raw material is shot or we are amateurs at the sports science.

Our efforts to support RH just before half time were shameful.

And not for the first time this season.

too much about yesterday centred on KF — the team were relying on him.

He had 17 games of rust to get through and it didn’t happen.

Again poor squad prep by AP.

Also they improved once RJ was off the park.

They brought on 33 / 36 year olds and were more of a threat.

We had a 31 year old on the bench who stayed there — our season in a microcosm.

And then there was all the flag nonsense.

For too many — looking at you GB — it was all about a political statement about 106 years ago and the football was an add on.

Well looked how that turned out — tone deaf middle class wannabee street performance artistes celebrating anti democratic revolutionary violence / nationalistic aggression / rampant militarism / Burton’s commandos ego trippers.

And all this on Day 53 of the war in Ukraine where the human cost of rampant militarism / anti democratic nationalistic violence and aggression / ego trippers losing the plot is all too obvious.

106 years of what / for what — building a society / economy based on US tax avoidance / tax gymnastics so that bread can be stolen out the mouths of poor children to deliver villas in Santa Ponsa to a middle class that have no scruples?

Not really something a club with our background / history should be celebrating — but maybe I am an idealistic dreamer.

Well better that than an ignorant hypocrite.

    Two final points:

Does the SFA / SPL test for drugs after games?

Did major figures in the gambling world win big yesterday?

Taking out the pie seller in Row Z on a regular basis is not a good look.

  4. With Maddens gambling issues as well as his know allegiances it is astonishing that he consistently gets these top level fixtures.

  5. Why does anyone think Ange was right not to highlight Madden as having shown double standards yesterday ? I can’t understand that.

It was the first time I have seen him really animated and bordering angry at officials for much of the game. It is not his style normally but for much of it (I was stood not far behind him) he was really unhappy. What would he not highlight he very obvious inconsistencies ?

  12. Contrary to popular opinion,I feel Ange mis read the preparation for this game, and has since compounded the felony with his comments on Madden.

It was evident Rogic and Hatate were not being allowed to play, why not change quicker? Jota and Abada, disappointing, now puts a question against retaining Jota.

Then.he brings on Forrest, who has been out for weeks, does not attack full backs or chase back, and is basically a non contributor, what we needed was Mccarthy in MF and move Callum.forward.

Sorry Ange,I think you got this wrong,in part due mainly to Madden, but if you don’t see this, that is astonishing.

We are now in the position of having to re-invigorate the feel good factor,or we run the risk of blowing our current league advantage.

I will be in Dingwall and don’t expect to see any non triers in the team or speculative selections.

Now is not the time to hope for trend changes,so no James or Mikey please.

I’d much rather lose this one than the match in 2 weeks time.

Having said that, I thought all the defenders, bar Taylor, did well, including the subs Ralston and Welsh.

It was just that the midfield had a dreadful time of it.

Is it because I’m criticising the standard of refereeing in Scotland?

  20. IThe Morning After:

We are so powder puff with cowards not challenging when the ball is there to be won, Hatate, Kyogo, Maeida, Abada, Jota, Rogic, Forest, any 50/50s they don’t want to know. We needed more muscle in the team. James Mcarthy should have come on for Hatate late 1st or early 2nd half, move Calum up the park, a blind man could see it. Tom Rogic should have been told to take Bassey for a walk around Hampden, instead, he stayed in his position which made it even easier for him to foul him at will. Broonie would have committed a serious assault on that pitch yesterday, not on their players, OURS! GVB had learned from previous games against us. We didn’t react to those changes. Ange thought that what we had done before would see us through. In our last 3 games v them they’ve had the vast bulk of possession. Something had to change for that to be negated and needs to change before we play them again. por cierto

  21. After almost a full season of the b Team we should be starting to see a number of players ready to step up — unfortunately this would not appear to be the case.

Would OM have been a realistic option off the bench?

Not for me as he has a lot of growing up to do.

Consequently we need to work the B team much harder next season.

Build a full squad for the start of next season / filling any gaps — and we have many — with new blood.

I think that we should be offering two years in the B team — raw material for next season would be a core squad of 18 to 20 from the 2002 / 2003 year groups with players brought in from the 2004’s / 2005’s as needed during the season.

Also use the B team to rehabilitate any of the 2001’s that have had long term injuries.

Formulaic in the extreme but it is not working at the moment.

A number of guys out on loan — for some it is a means of getting them off the premises while for others it would seem that the loan fees must be a nice little earner.

Would the SW duo been a better option off the bench yesterday?

    OU vs SW — discuss?

What has happened to IS — he is a player and AP is a good coach.

Failure would suggest that something is not working.

Hearing scuttlebutt that NL did not fancy him as a player and did not hold back his criticism.

Well either IS or JF given the sharp language used.

    Consequently lots to do.

  22. Yesterday yes we could of played better but I’m sure if someone more qualified than me analyses could show key points where the refs turned over possession and should of booked several sevco players. Also worth noting the ref in Madden’s ear? Mclean, tge sfa pulled the big guns out yesterday. Cheats.

  23. My friends in Celtic,

Well what a day I think we put in more effort partying in the boozer. It must be said the huns seemed to want it more and probably deserved their win.

    Some observations:

We gave the huns our gameplan prior to the match.

We informed them with days to spare that our big physical in form striker that can hold the ball up was not going to play. The huns planned accordingly. Did they even change their keeper with that in mind.

The huns knew that we would always play short at the back and subsequently man marked our midfield outlets.

We underestimated the huns. They are a good team who can change tactics to suit individual games. Their European run is testament to that.

They seemed stronger and fitter than us.

We ” fooled” nobody by listing Jullian once more on the subs bench. His height and strength were never ever going to factor.

    We can be too nice.

    Lessons learned :

Don’t tell any team who we have out and let them plan accordingly. Let them wait until we list the teams. We sacked employees at Lennoxtown for leaking news, then we officially leak news.

Mix our game up. Play long periodically.

Forget listing players who are never going to feature.

Make substitutions earlier when it’s blatently obvious that it’s not working.

Maybe more for the fans. Never underestimate our opponents because we don’t like them. Soundbites like going to war are counterproductive.

We need to play the game to the individual conditions. We know Madhun allows meaty tackles to go unpunished for a while. We should have matched the huns and got our retaliation in early doors.

Why were we ” training like mad” before the game. We needed smart training to take the huns extra time on Thursday night into the equation.

Learn our lessons and it could be timely for the league run in. The big prize is within our grasp, but we must optimise our positives of which we have many.

For those who like to talk of going to war : I feel we have lost a battle but Ange will win the war.

HH to all, the journey will soon commence.

  24. What I mean is, can someone organise an electronic petition

that ALL supporters can click onto, then send it to FIFA.

Miss out UEFA as there are corrupt ones (you know who) in there.

Imagine hundreds of thousands of Emails to someone at the top of FIFA getting hit.

We could explain why we’re doing it I.e.our club officials are to scared.

    Especially share holders,

Could we not crowd fund a court case against the corruption from the sofa the spill and referees.

Can we not become a nuisance by bombarding euafa FIFA and whoever that they have to take notice .

We’ve got to get this out there.

Sorry about the long winded post, but I feel we have to do and try SOMETHING.

All we want is a level playing field.

Ernie lynch on 18th April 2022 9:51 am,

The ref issue hase been discussed aplenty on here over the years, the excuse about the country being soo small and the majorty being invested is irrelevant drivel. There are plenty of countries in a similar state. Even in the local region there are Welsh & Irish referees that could be used, there are only 6 or 7 refs needed week to week, if you wanted to include the whole crew of linesman and fourth officials thats 28, each group would be assessed by the professional body in charge of maintaining professional standards.

If I remember correctly Auldheid provided a simple solution, a pool of professional refs from all over Europe that can be selected from.

When you think that currently Scottish refs can pick up £2000 a week, there is no reasonable excuse to continue to lie about them being amature, if your picking up £2K a week you are aprofessional, irrespective of how many jobs you have.

  32. We asked the team to turn up .we didn’t. We asked them to get stuck in , they didn’t, myself and many more posters over the past seasons have noted that our team are too soft , not up for a battle yesterday again proved it . Sadly we had at least six players out muscled at every turn . Now take Kent vs jota on ability night and day jota way more skill ,as mcgregor vs lundstrum and on and on .but what they lack in ability are more than made up with brawn and aggression . After the 3 0 game a few weeks ago ,they let us play , that was never going to happen again , if our head coach can’t see what the difference was yesterday then he is not the coach I think he is . im not saying fill our team with hatchet men but we just lost the only man who a few years ago capable of giving support to our slight players , he would have sorted a few out who have come to providence since he left us . All is not lost no way were we going to beat them in all our last 3 games . If I had my pick thats the one of least concern to us although a treble would have been grand , I want our title back. Finally when are our suits going to address this referee plague on us , we were never going to be allowed to win that game yesterday ,that performance from madden yesterday was every bit as bad as the dundee utd vs old firm scandal years ago by mccurry , and if our leaders don’t challenge whats going on today then our 6 points will surely evaporate . I also feel the fans support can group together look at legal ways of bringing this to attention god there are plenty of us and many clever men in our ranks surely a legal challenge can be considered . HH
