  1. Watching full game again on DC sports. Good 720 resolution.

David O you could be right, he’s struggled since coming back from that injury.

  2. McGregor cannot play as a midfielder. he always loses his man and leaves us exposed. henderson is a far better player and would have relished the game in second half. Crazy to bring on LG for SQ. If Eboussi was not up to it he should not have been on the bench. But main thing is the absolute bigoted cheating by the officials. kenny Miller could have ended SAs career and never even got a yellow. Hill committed 5 yellow card offemces before being booked. Tavernier was eventually carded THEN talked to then halved a Celtic player in 2. And We should have had 2 penalties , Stone wallers

I thought when he came back from injury it was like he had never been away. I just think the last couple of games haven’t been great for him but then in the last couple of games Sinclair has also been below his normal standard. That may have an impact.

  4. Alasdair MacLean on

The scariest photo I’ve seen is the one of Miller’s attempted crippling of Stuart Armstrong.

Worse than career ending had he made full contact I believe.

  5. I know Dembele and Scott Sinclair didn’t have their best performances yesterday but that aside the constant pushing from behind in 50/50 challenges ignored by prior agreement by ref did not assist them in giving their best performances.

But It is what it is and we happily support it while feeling we can write off our part in it by complaining about it. How many years of complaining is that? Oh 119!

And yet still we are were we are.

  6. Oh! I forgot. We should accept that we need to be way way way better than the opposition at all times cause that’s how it’s .

Aye, exactly. If you are playing well you can’t very well just expect the rules to be applied fairly.

That Jock Stein quote about referees is a flippin millstone…

This was just a practice run for 23rd April to see how much they could get away with.

  8. People have been knocking the johnjames site but he predicted last week ,to a tee ,exacty what Madden would do .

Stuart Armstrong had picked up an injury – and no wonder with some of the assults on him.

The Roberts tackle should have been a straight ,but not even a free-kick! And the Griff incident……………….

  9. Watching 1st half 3 huns booked. Funny thing is they don’t seem that bothered why? Because they know they won’t get a 2nd one.

  10. I think Madden’s failure to protect Celtic players from potential career ending tackles was far worse than the soft frees he gave the Huns and the penalty he didn’t give us. He went out yesterday hoping the Huns would win, we know he is a Hun supporter, how could he be expected to be fair.

We were definitely well below our normal performance yesterday but our players are not machines.

We qualified for Group Stages Champions League, won League Cup are 25pts ahead in League with 10 games left, in the semi final of Scottish Cup & unbeaten in domestic game.

Any Tim who can’t forgive our Bhoys for one poor display doesn’t deserve to be called a Supporter.

Anyways Golf calls so I’m ooofff ooootttt, looking forward to Dundee game already.

I said the same yesterday; KT is struggling badly and needs a rest. Izzy is an able deputy. Erik also needs to be dropped and Jozo brought back in. I reckon Bitton will be out with the injury he picked up yesterday so a good time for Kouassi to come on board.

  13. ps notice that BBC didn’t show Millers assault in highlight…or the ‘foul’ that led to their goal

  14. Davidopoulos@ 9.03

No- they wheeled out the nonentity Charlie Richmond to back up Brother Bobby having got it right this time.

Apparently he never touched Leigh until after he had touched the ball. A feat of human elasticiity that should earn Clint a shot at a gymnastics gold medal in Tokyo in 2020. Or Charlie Richmond will get a gig as an Iraqi TV spokesman

  15. VFR800

2nd half just starting. Mcgregor coming on for injured Bitton. Commentator has just said he was “clattered ‘ by Waghorn.

I thought Kouassi would get the shout.

    How thoroughly unsurprising.

    Btw…

I’m hearing rumours that Bobby Madden was inspired to become a referee by the film Escape To Victory…

  17. Gerryfaethebrig on

Just back from the school run, spoke to a few bhoys who were at the game and others who watched it on the telly, 100% in agreement that we weren’t that good yesterday but still a sour taste when Madden is a blatant cheat, also before our next important game the semi final I hope the memories of their celebrations at the end of the game yesterday are fresh in our players minds…….

Been while since I have had a wee annual leave day on a Monday, think I will watch Sprtscene to get the old blood pressure up

  18. Well just had a look at todays jj-site and he is saying exactly what I thought I saw . After watching on tv the not given pen frame by frame Hill was inches away from touching the ball . There was zero ball contact by Hill.

The expert pundits on Sky and BBC were arguing about whether it could be a foul as the hun touched the ball before up-ending LG.

C Hill only touched the Griff.

And if assults like yesterdays are now going to be allowed its just a matter of time before one of our players gets a broken leg.

  19. Corkcelt.

    I’m with you.

I’m more concerned about Miller and Holts tackles being ignored.

The ref ignored, Brendan didn’t comment on them, as far as I am aware and the press reports appear to be ignoring them.

I read the Telegraph and The Guardian match reports on line, just to,see what they were saying.

Ok the reporters were Roddy Forsyth and Euan Murray, so a bad start, but neither mention those tackles, let’s just sweep it under the carpet. Never happened Timmy.

Seriously why would Paddy Roberts want to stay here when tackles like that go unpunished and his whole career could be threatened.

  20. Another Madden performance that strengthens the case for bringing in referees from outside of the Sectarian Football Association closed shop/bubble. As others have noted, the biggest concern is for the safety of our players now rather than the outcome of a match. There are plenty of example this season of potential career-ending thuggery. If the club had any balls they’d call it out this. If the PLC had any balls, they’d protect their assets – which are clearly at risk.

  21. JIMMYNOTPAUL & CORKCELT

The last month or so has been very instructional for our Scottish opposition – they now have a blueprint for stifling our play and they now know that heavy and reckless challenges will not earn you a red card. Pulling shirts is fine. Pushing the striker in the back at high balls is fine. Celtic players will be booked for complaining.

The end of the unbeaten run is coming.

  22. Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan on

    Good Morning.

I am not even going to comment on the farce that was yesterday.

Stein said his team had to beat all 14 members of the opposition on the pitch. From the get go it was obvious who was going to be getting the benefit of every doubt with the north stand linesman being a disgrace.

    Anyway, to more important matters.

    Being cheated .

Never forget Cadette’s disallowed goal at Ibrox and the absurd justification of the decision by the in the studio ” expert ” . That ” expert ” went on to be Chief Executive of The SFA.

  24. Armstrong has just had a belter of a shot saved. I clocked the time 67 minutes in. Oh if only.

  25. Hunderbirds are Gone on

After watching Neil “Iscariot” McCann’s staunch defence of Hill’s innocence in the (non) penalty incident, I thought I would consult the rules of the game.

“A penalty is awarded, if a direct free kick offence, is committed inside the penalty box.” The incident clearly happened inside the penalty box, and I assume there is no debate on that fact.

Here are 10 examples of “Direct free kick offences”

    When a player:

    1) Kicks or attempts to kick an opponent

    2) Trips or attempts to trip an opponent

    3) Jumps at an opponent

    4) Charges an opponent

    5) Strikes or attempts to strike an opponent

    6) Pushes an opponent

    7) Makes contact with the opponent before touching the ball when tackling

    8) Holds an opponent

    9) Spits at an opponent

    10) Handles the ball deliberately

If any of these offences are committed by a player inside their own penalty area then it’s a penalty.

I would say that examples 1, 2 and especially 7, are relevant here.

I’ve got the rules right here! I have consulted the rules, it is clearly stated here (waves IPad in air), and by these rules, that I have here, it was a clear penalty. (Face reddens, voice rises in pitch, IPad is waved furiously). It clearly states here, in the rules, that I have read, that it was a penalty.

A CLEAR BREACH OF THE RULES, THAT I HAVE HERE, HAS TAKEN PLACE. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PENALTY, ‘COS IT IS IN HERE (brandishes IPad). THE RULES ARE CLEAR ON THIS, AND IVE READ THEM……. HERE, IN THE RULES…… THAT I HAVE……. AND HAVE READ…..

    Morning Celts

    Bhoys didnt play well yesterday.

We have had umpteen chances to put an end to corrupt hun referees, however, anybody that pays to see hun cheating, thats exactly what you will get.

You buy into it without complaint, well, thats the rules in this hun game, you all know this.

We have been over this a million times.

If you dont like being cheated….do something about it ffs.

Those fecking cheating huns…..cheating their way to a scabby draw, and its as if they have won WW2 all over again, never mind the 30 odd points behind.

    Total nuggets.

Having to get the hun ref to bail them out….yet again.

    Normal service has been resumed.

However….If we wont do nothing about it. Well, it will just continue, as per usual.

  30. Sorry, just want to clear something up; John James stated that the assistant referee flagged for a foul at the penalty incident. Is that true? TV coverage did not show that. Can anyone who was there confirm?

  31. So we are a point closer to winning the league and after reading back over all the posts I can understand the anger and reactions. In one way that game yesterday was worthless, 33 points gap between the two teams and only one team with everything to prove. They are mince and that was probably their best result yet…. well they celebrated it like it was.

Now think about that for a minute they had nothing to loose yesterday, a new manager looking on from the stands and literally playing for their futures and the best they could manage was a draw.

We did not play very well and after the season we have had we were due a dip but I don’t think we will play that bad again. I am loathe to even mention the ref but wether it was blatant cheating or just incompetence it matters not he won’t get the semi final. As I am typing this I have just heard Leigh griffiths on the radio saying the ref asked him if hill got the ball after the game…..wow just wow. That’s Scottish football in a nutshell for you right there.

Now just remember this we are still unbeaten still going for the treble and we have a manager who will demand we improve. The biggest threat to us is not others teams it’s what the MIBS let the other teams away with and it’s time we spoke up about it.

  32. I remember an Indian restaurant in Hamilton doing a set-price buffet with free drinks on a Monday night. About 10 of us went straight from work, ordered pakora and started the drinks orders.

It soon became clear, as the place filled, that others had the same idea, and about an hour later the waiters were pleading with everyone to go up and take some food!

Short -lived deal, but great while it lasted!
