  1. As a fellow Celtic supporter said,if cheating,is bothering you so much ,then for ffs do something about it,our Board are the culprits, just sit back and watch it,oh wait a minute ,if it’s the Green Brigade, then we will give the Cops there address,to lift them from their home’s,

Beatbhoy @ 10.47… that was me. I do not believe in any conspiracy. However, I do believe if the penalty incident had been Sviatchenko on Waghorn, he would have given it. It would have been difficult for him to call a penalty against his team after they had gotten back into the game. Either way he could have defended the decision…but that’s not a conspiracy. And yes, I can imagine Madden and perhaps McLean and Muir having a wee laugh about it out of the earshot of others. But it is still not a conspiracy. Individuals making biased decisions? Yes, definitely! Cheating? Well, yes it is. I hope Brendan or Peter L. have a word with Fleming about it. Regardless, they are still a bunch of incompetent wannabes.

With regards to the tackling, that has to be resolved on the park. Where was the reaction from the players at these incidents? We should put a bit more pressure on the referee…sort it Brendan

  3. Imagine being so absolutely devoid of anything to cheer about a DRAW is the highlight of your entire season.

Seriously. What leads you to believe that Celtic will do anything whatsoever about bent hun refs?

They seem to have ignored it totally in my lifetime.

Why would they do so now?

I honestly don’t know but would be very surprised if the manager wanted it picked up then I am sure the club would back him and agree the right course of action.

Just because things are not played to a public gallery does not always mean nothing is being done. It’s is worth remembering the club achieving 10 in a row and trebles are hugely marketable events which even if we reduce it to generating revenue as a motivator there is plenty to encourage challenge from the club.

  6. EPL fans nationwide weren’t happy re ticket price increases.

Liverpool fans organised and staged a walkout, generated great publicity for the issue which led to a groundswell of support to put pressure on the authorities to cap ticket prices.

If we can organise ourselves and act as one body as part of a consistent, coherent and peaceful demonstration campaign. I have absolutely no doubt we will force the change we deserve to see.

If Liverpool fans can mobilise on ticket prices why can’t we do something similar re the referees and the structure that protects them here in Scotland

Did you have a guess how it would pan out . I knew how it would . And I’m quite sure most of the celtic support knew as well . And we weren’t wrong .

Just after the final whistle yesterday,I went up to the bar for the round.

And English acquaintance had been watching the game, sat at the bar. He knows not to come near us during the match,it can be a bit rowdy!

He said that the game was interesting,to say the least, and asked if it was supposed to be similar to their soccer down here. Lipped sod,I was just about to let rip when he added…

“Cos if your players had tackled like that yesterday at Twickenham, you might have got a better result!”

    Well,who was I argue?

Im trying to understand why the Celtic PLC would say anything about huns refs, when they have totally ignored it for at least fifty years.

    Someone explain it to me.

Lustig complained about the tackle on Paddy.

    He got booked.

TIMBHOY3 and others have got it right. The CLUB needs to complain at the top level.

Anywhere else, the players could take their concern to their union. Not here.

You can only think that the PLC are happy to accept the hun cheating.

Cant come to any other conclusion really.

Im stating the obvious like other posters, or havent you noticed due to your PLC tinted spectacles.

When the PLC do stand up against it…..then you will be right.

However….The PLC, will do nothing, as usual

  18. 6 Celts in the Scotland squad including Broonie. Surprisingly Newco linchpin Bobby Madden overlooked.

  19. The cheating will continue as long as we remain a compliant tickect buying support .

The pleas to the board/plc to intervene are illusory. The illusion that somehow the board/plc care about the integrity of the game or what the ordinary punter thinks.

When in reality all they care about are the finances.

Any action we take as a support that have a significant financial impact will force the powers at be to act, they wouldn’t have any alternative.

Personally I would target cup competitions as the SFA would take the brunt of any financial hit

  20. An Teach Solais on

With regard to Madden’ condoning (or myopia) moments re illegal tackles on our players :-

I recall a case where a rugby player suffered what is now termed “a life-changing incident” and successfully brought action against the referee for breaches of the Health and Safety etc Act for failing to implement properly the rules of the game.

Perhaps those with better recall than I can confirm/correct my hazy recollection.

I understand that referees here are self employed but contract their services to the SFA.

If any of our legal eagles are lurking, perhaps they might comment whether this would be a useful reminder of their legal duties to the MIBs. HH

  21. I don’t follow any football except Celtic any more, lost interest some years back in World Cups and Champions Leagues etc.

My question is this are there any known instances of clubs in other leagues complaining to the ruling bodies about the standard of refereeing and if so what was the process for doing that??

Maddens performance yesterday although half expected was worse for me about the unpunished thuggery that went on than the penalty claim which he we replayed that game a millions times he’s never going to give a last minute penalty to us against his heroes!

Btw…my first evening in Gaza, I asked for pasta with mushroom sauce at the restaurant. I bit into what I thought was a mushroom but turned out to be a piece of chicken. I called the waiter over and explained I was vegetarian and didn’t eat meat…”that’s not meat sir, that’s chicken”….

Simunovic must be seriously asking himself ” what have I done so wrong on Brendan Rodgers since Xmas” Has his agent told BR that he’s looking around for offers of moves in the summer that we don’t know about whatever issue, its not a fitness or form reason that’s keeping him out of the team.

Boyata & Erek just don’t cut it for me as any sort of pairing. Last week they were outjumped continually by an absolute journey man in John Sutton, yesterday rag dolled by a 37 year old and a fat munchin who can barely run the length of himself.

If Brendan was keeping his powder dry for the Semi Final fair enough, but the Hun now know how we line up and how they can hurt us (aided & abetted by a bent ref of course) Eboussi must have something in him, he’s with us over 2 months and cost over £2m so now’s the time to show us why. Tam Rogic will be also fit for next month. Our two biggest enemies have now begun to take effect of this team: 1) Complacency & 2) Masons with whistles.

BR need to box clever to overcome both….Brendan will not like that idea floating around the internet, that he was “outfoxed” by an Under 20’s coach in his final game in charge yesterday.

  24. Halfway home. Stopped for a coffee. Was just thinking:

I met two friends my cousins funeral on Friday. Hadn’t seen them for a long number of years. We spoke about the game coming up on Sunday. Both expressed concerns over bro Madden. I reassured them they were worrying needlessly.

It so happened I met them at the game on the North Stand concourse pre match. They both seemed a bit uneasy about the ref. Again I told them to put it out their minds.

James, Rab…..should you be looking in…. how right you were. Rab, I think my last comment to you was ” I hope these comments don’t come back and haunt me”

    DAVIDOPOULOS @11.58am.

Now more than ever I feel that the club should consider the H&S aspect and I would commend Canamalar for foresight.

I would suspect that as self-employees our MIBs are responsible for their own insurance cover and a few cases with concomitant hike in premiums might concentrate minds better. HH

  27. Jozo was injured for a couple of weeks I’m sure. He and Boyata are the preferred two in my opinion.

  28. When I have seen Madden and his linesmen warming up, the Celtic players seem to have a good relationship with him. If it is true that he asked Griff if it should have been a penalty, this supports the idea that the Celtic players are happy enough with him. That suggests that they consider him to be a fair referee. The remaining and important question therefore is this: Should referees who support or who have have supported any given team be allowed to officiate in those games?

I would have thought that honest refs would agree that refereeing your `own` team ( especially against special rivals) is not a desirable situation. I realise, of course, that this would cause real problems in Scotland as it seems that a high percentage of our officials have at least a leaning towards any Ibrox club.
