Maddens performance was what we expected , not one of us didn’t, know how it would pan out . But at the millar tackle on Armstrong , not one Celt made a meal of it , or had a word with millar .
Had Neil Lennon been playing ,he would have had more than a word . Same with holts tackle on Roberts . This team are too soft , they accepted what was being handed out . After the first five minutes ,I knew Forrest would be out the picture , it was to rough for him , same with Sinclair . No all in all it was a bad day at the office , and unless we man up , more of the same will come our way . With regards quality , we are miles in front of them , we know it ,and they know it . Hence the bullyboy tactics yesterday ., and yes I know it makes it easier for them ,with a compliant Hun ref , I still think we should be putting ourselves about more . If yesterday proved anything ,it was that BRENDAN still has some improvement s to make .
I’ve looked at it a couple of times this morning – I think he is onside.

If i was a Celtic player this morning….Id be very angry.
Are we really going to let these hun cheats, cheat us out of a treble?

Just seen penalty incident again. On the replays after the contact you can see Madden in the background slightly out of focus but clear enough. His hand with the whistle goes towards his mouth, then he changes his mind. His first thought was PEN, then he remembered who he was.
Are we really going to let these hun cheats, cheat us out of a treble?

Maybe. They will have a damn good try anyway.
The good thing about yesterday is that the their hubris is back. As you say, they think they are as good as us. They will genuinely go into the semi final expecting to win. And with the right choice of referee, who can blame them?

Not all of us knew how it would pan out.
On the last article, a couple of posters hinted that he was not the worst.
One criticised John James’ very prescient post about Midden, and suggested that as an ambitious pro he would be aware that the ‘world was watching”, and would not want to “embarrass himself”.
The problem is, he’s not worried about the world watching, only his bosses and a certain demographic in Scotland.

The official signal for an assistant referee to indicate a penalty kick is to raise the flag for the foul and immediately move to the corner flag. (Flag across chest is NOT a recognised signal By FIFA)
Haven’t seen a reply of the incident that shows that angle, but regardless, it was a definite penalty. Touching the ball at any stage of a foul challenge (as in Law 12) does not prevent that award of a direct free kick or penalty.

As frustrated as everyone about yesterday. Especially the performance of Madden in allowing such over aggressive play to go unchecked.
Blatant penalties
Career threatening attempts at assault on celtic players
Subtle free kicks given such as the one leading the their goal
Blatant pushing of our striker completely unchecked at every arial challenge by Wilson
Clear attempt to intimidate our young centre back by getting in his face pre their goal
For me Madden had it all yesterday. A disgrace of a performance which I am confident will be highlighted in the right way over the coming weeks.
Our manager is surely too clever to leave it as just about a bad penalty call. I am sure he will feel a bit chastened and will use the evidence well in the weeks ahead.
The physicality of the past few weeks from Rangers is an interesting feature. A Change from Warburton style. I wonder where the influence has come from ?
This will win them more but it won’t be a panacea I am sure.

Amazing support pre game and up to 70 minutes or so and then they transmitted nerves just when the team needed backing to see it through.
Boyata trying to gee the support up around the 80th. minute or so was something we don’t see too much at Celtic Park.
Even the normally fantastic green brigade seem to run out of steam in the last 15 minutes.
‘A liability when the going got tough’ was how an English guy I spoke to after the game described the crowd. I thought that was a harsh generalisation but this was the first time in the Brendan era I felt the nerves really transmit between crowd and team.
Usually the common enemy of a cheating ref unites and engages the support but even that did not seem to do the trick.

Folks,
The facts of the matter are as follows:
According to Dave King he has spent £18 Million on this new Rangers creation and he has only another £12 Million to spend.
They have to pay out on any redundancy contracts for their owl management team, and the new manager has to build a new team from scratch with that same £12 Million.
Half of their current team are loans and guys who are not going to be there for next season for one reason or another.
At the start of the season, they had in place a manager who was hailed as the next big thing and was touted for many a good top flight job and who won awards for his managerial prowess last season.
They were, we were told, confident that they could either win the league or mount a serious challenge to Celtic for the title.
In fact, they are 33 points behind us and have taken one == yes one== point from a possible nine against us so far!!
Does anyone doubt that by the end of the league campaign the gap will be circa 40 points?
What you saw yesterday were the celebrations of a wee team mentality — a wee team snatching a draw at Celtic Park rightly celebrates. The Rangers played to their strengths yesterday and caught our team napping in second gear. They got a result and they are right to celebrate as there was a real chance they were going to get humped.
Celebrate away.
But they are 33 points behind, have all sorts of troubles off the park and all sorts of questions to face in the coming months.
Celtic have to build for the semi final, then hopefully the final and then Europe in June.
Rangers have to pray for the season ticket money and then scout around for as good a team as they can find for next season. Success for them is not to find themselves 33 points behind this time next year.
That is not guaranteed by any means.
