Enjoying the result as much as everyone else here.
No chance of a great game due the weather and the poxy opposition (don’t know if they can play football, do know they don’t even try to, they have other ambitions).
Many Celtic performances to admire, especially by our younger bhoys who seemed to be so concentrated on what they were doing that they forgot they were supposed to be nervous and inexperienced – ah, the joys of youth.
Part of me applauds the focus and discipline shown in the face of brazen assaults, seems to be the way these (politically correct) days.
Part of me missed the Lions (or some of them).
Jim Craig, Big Billy, John Clark, Tommy G., Bobby Murdoch, Bertie Auld and Willie Wallace would have trodden on those pretend hardmen like ants. Am I allowed to say that?
Who cares? Still don’t think we are even close to our potential – the best is yet to come and the best will be something to behold.
What is Neil’s best team? No-one knows, including him, BUT, he has put a good squad together and certainly seems to know how to make best use of them, Be thankfull he our manager and not me, or most of the rest of us.
Anyone else think he’d have been halfed by Knuckles and then booked for having such an impertinence as to go down?

Lenny played a blinder in Sky studio. Asked about huns “goal” he reminded Tanner about Hoopers “offside”. Tanners a real hun creep, talking about Rankers “disallowed goal”. How can it be disallowed if it’s never given as a goal in the first place ya twally.
Still, I should really thank guys like Tanner for their contribution…… it makes gubbin them all the sweeter.
Nike and Carlsberg have started doing Wednesdays :-)

Jelavic’s performance tonight may just have nixed a cash windfall for them. No way anyone in the EPL will splash 8million plus on him on that showing.
I’d be more worried that Hooper, Kayal, Brown, Ledley or Wanyama would have caught the eyes of the visiting managers…

On Sky, Crocker and Provan almost had to shout to be heard above “Come On You Bhoys in Green!! Celtic…..Celtic!!”. Fantastic effort from the fans. Wish I could have been there.

Lets hope Fraser Forster gets the recognition for a wonder save.I have been his biggest critic, but he has made some saves worthy of the holy goalie at his best in recent weeks
More than anything, any new players, I would have the board turn down all and any suitors for our players (except those absentees that will perhaps add nothing to the team – Rasmussen etc
——————————————————————————————————————————————-
Totally agree however i do not think any players will be sold unless they have expressed a desire to leave we have, i believe, ring fenced the crown jewels – Izzy, Kyal and Big Vic only signed this year. If they wish to leave Celtic the club will dictate how much for and this will be top dollar. However we all know that we need, at the very least, a quality experienced CB. Time to invest in proven quality rather than promise.
I’m 58 on friday, been retired since 2007, and in the main due to gambling, and for the most part single bets, tell me I’m wrong :>))

Few words from me after the game.
Whenever I watch SPL, particularly Celtic vs Rangers I always wonder where those referees learn Law Of the Game?
McCullough tackle on Kayal was straight red. Straight leg tackle is always red and it does not matter if it’s through the ball or not.
Foul on James Forrest was straight red. The player was not interested in getting the ball. Attack on Forrest’s legs to knock him down. It’s like hit into face and other similar assaults.
Very happy to see Celtic top of the table. I think Rangers were poor tonight and dangerous only in a first few minutes of the game.
For me Kayal was with no doubts best player on the pitch, second was Matthews.
Well, what a happy christmas for those in the hoops!
Lenny – great stuff that man. Cool as a cucumber in the studio. I was raging about McElbows straightlegged, studs high follow through which injured Biram, and on second, third and fourth showings it got even worse. But Lenny did the right thing and played it down – in public. I have also noticed of late the players reduced to saying really banal and pointless cliches in interviews – GOOD. Give them nothing.
We coped better with the conditions. We looked better players, a better team and for me Wanyama was a stand out. Cool and assured. Great player.
Elbows, despite his assault on KAyal, will be wishing he had stayed banned. What a waste of a pair of sock ties that excuse for a footballer is. Anonymous. As with Naismith, Karma kicks them square in the tender parts once more.
Get it up, round and about ye ya blue nosed blankety blanks!!!!
Bhoy, this Bushmills tastes sweet this evening. (Saving the good malt for winning the league)
Oh, and the humble pie, it’s actually quite enjoyable, meaning as it does I was proved wrong by Lenny and the Bhoys in the weeks before the Kilmarnock come back. Strange parallels with the 4-4 game at Fir Park under WGS n’est pas?
