Things must be getting tight at the top indeed if you’ve not got behind the sheep(!) for 3 points tomorrow night yet.

  2. My friends in Celtic,

I wasnt at the game yesterday. I havent phoned home yet, so I dont even know if my ticket was used.

A decent result, but by all accounts on here not a great performance and below average entertainment.

I salute the hardy 25,000 or so who made the effort to physically go to Parkhead.

I read about the booing with interest, but I ask :- just how do supporters show displeasure ? There is nothing more demororalising to players than rows and rows of empty seats. So i would encourage our fans to continue to attend, and if they are demonstrative then I can understand that, maybe not condone, but understand.

It could be argued that this is a direct consequence of treating our supporters as customers.

Did every one of our players yesterday give 100%. If supporters feel that there was anything less than that how do they show their displeasure ? How do they show their displeasure about crazy tactics or substitutions ? Wave white hankeys ?

No doubt there is a lack of emphathy with the team / club in general and a perceived lack of professionalism. Maybe SFTB is correct and having Sevco back next season will galvanise our supporters, because this domestic season is evidently not.

H H. to all and especially to ALL who made the efort yesterday.

I said at the time that Villa would regret selling Jimmy Rimmer and I have been proven right again

    Good post.

All coaches have favoured systems .

The ability to implement them properly sets apart the good from the bad.

Ronny has had plenty of time time to implement and so far has failed.

Not confident he will ever have the ability to do so.

The Barcelona reference is pertinent but perhaps it’s Ronnie’s inability rather than the personnel.

There are numerous coaches infatuated by the possession system that Barcelona perfected.

Enrique has improved upon the original Guardiola system by making them more direct when necessary.

Heynckes Bayern were better than Guardiolas as the European results show.

The possession obsessed chalkboard coach often fails on the field where it counts.

Understanding a system in a classroom is only a small part of the equation.

Game management and training ground methods that teach reaction and proaction to game situations are vital.

I see neither in Ronnies team as we continually repeat the same mistakes in games and selection.

It’s not all bad as i believe we have a good squad who if coached properly could be a very good team.

Couldnt agree more…thats whats so frustrating..

  6. I asked the other day about this guy who recently has spent time coaching at Thistle and D UTD his name is Kevin McGreskin and he has just been appointed TD at our local club.

Seems very highly qualified to be in this new position but hopefully not just using us as a resume addition.

    Anybody know him?

  7. FAN-A-TIC on 14TH FEBRUARY 2016 3:43 PM

Yip, I agree we by and large have a good squad apart from one or two who I wouldn’t have.

only squad more confounding than our own may be at Anfield … on their day, they look like they could sweep aside anyone, but then lose several on a trot to teams they should be beating (at least on paper) easily …

I thought Klopp would have, at least, steadied the ship somewhat …

the two teams playing just now ….. in different ways, are both cautionary tale about thinking the next manager ‘cant do any worse”?

I bet England at the rugby 1/1 -16, -22 was 5/2 but a win is a win, I might very well bet the dandy dons tomorrow, in my opinion Celtic will win the league and Aberdeen won’t lose the league

Got a feeling ICT will score so my bet is the dandy dons with both teams scoring

(Keep reminding me, I still think I was correct, do we not need a strong Aberdeen?)

  10. Apathy, that is our current state of mind. I truly think that the majority, shall we say 66% would not be bothered if we binned Ronnie tomorrow.

We would be all riled up and interested in who would be the replacement though. I hate to talk about this , unlike the MSM who may wish to regret hounding RD out the door. Perhaps we will go after the worlds greatest coach and former financial genius of the London Stock Exchange? Now that would see some serious rewriting of more than a few articles in the Evening Times and Daily Ranger.

  11. Think if Aberdeen win tomorrow and on Friday, then the title will go ‘down to the wire’.

Post split would be the squeakiest of squeaky-bum times – we know what we are like when it comes decisive ‘one-off’ games.

A couple of grammar mistakes but thanks. The most glaring one being I never want any Celtic Team or Manager to fail.

Following Celtic is like life itself, like a Rollercoaster. Right now we are on the upslope, waiting on the thrill of adrenaline rush as we reach the top, hopefully it won’t be too long…:) I long for that day, until then I will…

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  13. Gerry

They can be as strong as they like, mate, as long as we’re stronger.

And this season we’re not strong enough to be hoping for them to win their remaining games.

Unless,of course, you’re confident we’ll win all of ours.

No prob you wanting them to win if you’ve got cash on them.

But you’ll understand me hoping your bet goes down,eh?

  14. Gerryfaethebrig on

Let’s ditch a successful manager and replace him with a manger(s) who have won heehaw, and some people think Peter & Dermott don’t know what they are doing

And just for anybody who is reading, I am doing the Ronny Roar in ML5

I wonder if the posters who are so down with all things Ronny would maybe sacrifice title no.5 to get rid of our manager or do they just like the good stuff

  15. Foghorn Leghorn

Jimmy Rimmer that”s a blast from the past ! Saw him many times in a Villa shirt including Rotterdam when replaced by Nigel Spink in European Cup final

  16. Fan-a-Tic,

Sorry, I was away on grandad duty so not keeping up with debate.

Bitton. I think he is a first pick, you don’t, fine. We agree to differ.

My point re yesterday was that the 8 players I named would be most folk’s picks. Only Chas Muldini could replace Bitton but he is returning from injury so needs time.

Similarly, with Jozo injured and Efe being Efe, our centre back pairing was the only choice.

    CKR instead of Griff?

You may argue a change of system and/or manager but that is not going to happen just now is it?

We are where we are. I would like to make changes but I recognise that the calibre of player we can attract is diminishing year on year.

Where we had Sutton and Larsson with Hartson on the bench we now have Griff. Skippy and JVOH anyone?

We don’t have a Naka never mind a Lubo.

Players in the SPFL do not tend to be of Champions League class.

You know like horses than run at Hamilton don’t tend to contest the Derby.

I’ve watched much better Celtic teams but I ‘ve also endured much worse.

The downsizing is an inevitable fact of where we live and play our football. We are managing it reasonably well. It may not be much fun at times but it is better than being deid or in liquidation.

I would hope my bet is down if it helps Celtic, my mantra with betting is the money is already lost once you place the bet, anything back is a bonus……

A very thought provoking post if our nearest challengers win their next two games and only about 12 or so games left it might be significant or down to the wire, quite glad you pointed that out, son what happens if they don’t ?

  18. Pat Fenlon,Yogi Hughes, and Owen Coyle all waiting patiently in the wings.

The anti Deila * nice guy but a Norwegian Diddy * campaign is in overdrive

( they’re on all day and night now ) it has now permeated Parkhead and statistical fact can’t beat the experts it seems, Ronny is gone, so say the ‘non supporting majority ’ Celtic internet trumpets from near and far.

Nothing left but five en route to ten, the double, then a golden handshake in the summer, no continuity for Celtic just more turmoil, facing Cheat 2 FC the installation of the worst tribute act since Peters n Lee thought they were the Everley Brothers.

    ——————-

I was only 10 or 11 at the time of that game, but i do remember watching it and Rimmer getting taken off early to be replaced by a very young Spink

I was a keeper in those days so I liked to keep an eye on what goalkeepers were about – I wasnt a good one though, more a young Carl Muggleton than an up and coming Dino Zoff :-)

  21. a light insanity on

I left the game yesterday glad that we had won. Some people were hypercritical of the performance. I know we have been poorer in the past but I can’t get past my thinking about John Barnes and his Christmas tree formation which he adhered to

  22. Reincarnation means that they have been “here” before. It’s their first time. Seems pedantic but we need to challenge the narrative. A lie repeated often enough gains momentum. They died.

Its amazing the power of the internet

Those of us who have never been to a match ever in our lives can sit in a darkened room and type Ronny Out on a keyboard and lo and behold tens of thousands who go to every game home and away will suddenly become brainwashed into believing Ronny is no good,he must go.

    Its so simple really.
