Mon had no say in the squad no say in the expense no say in the future this is why he quit

    as did WGS

    as did Lenny

    BTM was expendable

Ronny is a lame duck as much as the board are but will not last as long.

There were probably more folk watching Dermot hacking his way round a Californian golf course, than there were watching Celtic yesterday

  3. Go tell the Spartim on

It used to be happy clappers vs mine shafters, now all we get is bedwetters with their longing to spout ‘I told you so’ they’ll keep on harping until the eventually can say it and feel pleased.

Of course everyone of them is shit hot at their own jobs.

I’m with Delaney’s Dunk, he may not want me there, but he’s right. People wonder why the SMSM still exist it’s to tell a large chunk of the home support what to think.

It was interesting listening to Moyes this morning, told he had six years and took his time trying to transform the reigning champions of the EPL, I wonder if the bedwetters would give him the time up here. I guess I’ll find the answer somewhere in TD’s moms daily ranger

    Succinctly put, totally agree.

    A questions:

Do you predict that our average attendances will increase because of the two Zombie games i.e. the Mineshafters (copyright SFTB) will only return because the Zombies are playing?

    Or

Do you predict that the average attendances will increase over the Season as more will return for the 19 or so home games on the back of the Zombies arrival i.e. They will want to be visibly be seen, so to speak as being part of the Celtuc masses?

    Hope this makes sense.

PS: I will continue to go to support my Team at Celtic Park against the Zombies as I pay my Season Ticket to support my Team. However, having only missed two matches against deadco in my Celtuc supporting days pre-2012, I will never ever go back deadco’s Ground to support Celtic. I will never give the Zombies a penny for playing in a Graveyard, it will though pain me as I only ever went there as I could not bear the thought of my Team playing there listening to their bile. That is my only conflict.

    Keep the Faith!

Neil Lennon was the same as most managers and he had the final say on players signed ( his words ). Most big clubs have players recommended through a scouting process, Celtic are no different.

  6. Good grief this place is going from bad to worse. Just what does a Celtic manager have to do to be backed by supporters of his club, because winning games obviously isn’t one of the ways to do it.

From the first day of the season those well known friends and admirers of all things Celtic, the Scottish press, have been fermenting discord. They have tried everything to convince Celtic supporters that we are in “crisis”. They have pushed the “treble or bust” line, the “devalued without Sevco” line and have deliberately created controversy in order to have Celtic players punished retrospectively whilst ignoring onfield injustices we have suffered.

Meanwhile the loudest voices railing against Celtic’s downsizing are in turn those most vociferous calling for supporters to boycott Celtic financially until the downsizing ends. Genius idea that.

Some are happy to lecture us about being duped by an “old firm loving” board whilst also telling us that without rangers we should be sweeping all before us domestically and so European football is our only measure of success.

My personal favourite are the ones who refuse to contribute financially to the club until the club matches their ambition by spending other people’s money to their satisfaction.

This site used to be about everything from the weather, recipes and wine recommendations to high finance and time travel as well as reasoned discussion of all things Celtic , now it is a constant stream of anti board, anti manager and anti Celtic bile.

I post so little no one would notice a flounce but I lurk less and less every week as I get more and more disillusioned.

In the words of Martin42 “stand up for the Champions”

So if KDS is to be believed, Ronny is not happy with the signing policy. Recurring theme here with successive managers since MON and was possibly the reason MON left as well as the signing policy had changed and possibly/probably someone else is deciding on the signings.

Having said this I still cannot see what improvements Ronny has made to the team this season, maybe he should seriously consider replacing his assistants or does he have no say in that as well?

Was anybody from CQN at this Q&A session?

  10. Title heading to Naarf Laandan by the look of it. Going to the wire down there this year.

    Hopefully not up here.

‘Mon the Caley ( for 1 night only).

  11. Listening to Celtic Underground podcast last week they were saying that the signing process under NL was he identified the position, type of player he wanted, Park and the scouts went out to find players who met the criteria and were within budget. NL, Park and Parker chose the preferred option between the three or four identified. lawwell then tried to sign them. NL had the veto, if he said no they weren’t signed.

Not sure how true this is but sounds feasible.

  12. TET

Yip. But that’s the budget and the market we’re in, with successive appointments presently down to Ronny.

Each new manager gets a budget and in my opinion Ronny has blown his, as you can’t be Xavi and Iniesta with Zig and Zag ( see Europe )

Not even in a pub league.

From my seat in North lower 107 I see the following

The older guys who grumble a wee bit but generally support the team. Will be there week in week outo – season after season

The moaners who appeared over the last few years and criticise even when we win. Some of these geezers left because ” it was all too easy ” . Others left when rangers died. Those that stayed boo at full time or even half time .

Then there are the bams who try to shout on the bhoys and give the mib major vocals for trying to cheat us ( im in that group )

Was talking to oldtim and Richie as we walked to the turnstiles yesterday. The Internet has its pluses regards football news …. but it’s also a right bad thing regards every mug having a view and the current negativity is contagious.

  14. GSU

It is sad but true, and as TTR suggested is coming to a head, even when we are winning easily like yesterday. Not enjoying my Paradise match day experience lately. Have loved every away game this season, in stark contrast to home support.

    All well with Dena ?

In most businesses the managers get set objectives … they go to the directors with a plan and a list of requirements ( bodies and equipment needed )

Directors read it … tell them they want the results but provide a percentage of the requested resource .

When the manager only achieves the results the resource granted will produce – he gets the bullet

It appears football is like any business

  17. Margaret McGill on

So Celtic should sell ST’s at half price. If you buy 10 say. Good deal.

    For every tenner a fiver.

  18. Butsy.

You don’t have to talk to a plastic seat for people to think you are mad.

I’m glad you made it to the game. Hopefully you are staying strong and I will catch up with you soon.

  20. BSR

I don’t have a problem with the policy if it wasn’t so rigid, there needs to be some flexibility, it’s all very well looking for the diamond, but we need to give some of our own a chance, we also need to buy in a few old heads, ones who can teach the weans a thing or two, both on and off the park, it just seems to me that the fixation of finding the Vics et all have gone to their heads to the detriment of what’s important and that is a team on the park.

When our mutual amigo told us what Lenny said, ” FFS Dermot etc……” I have no reason to doubt him, and it falls in with other things I believe.

  23. The Exiled Tim @ 5:36….

I was at the meeting with the manager last Thursday and the comment on KDS about Anthony Stokes …”Stokes decision was more from people above Ronny due to off the field issues”… is not an accurate account of what Ronny said.

Responding to a question from a member of the audience Ronny was asked whether Anthony Stokes was likely to return to Celtic after his loan spell at Hibernian.

The manager’s opening response was to say that he had to be careful what he said in public.

He then said that he was really fond of the player and that remains the case. He also said that he was a fantastic football player.

However, the player had let both Ronny and others at the club down over a long time. The manager was also of the opinion that he had allowed him too many opportunities.

At no time in his reply did Ronny suggest that the decision was taken by anyone other than himself.

My prediction is your 2nd option but I believe the Sevco games will be sell outs.

BTW I predicted that some mineshafters and some happyclappers will give up but most will continue to attend in some form, perhaps making the compromise you will adopt. My prediction was based on the absent non-attending crowd, who cite boredom, Board or the attractions of the pub as reasons behind their failure to go, will suddenly find that those reasons are, somehow, inexplicably, no longer valid.

The only factor I think that might upset my prediction is if the Sevco supporter base comes back, bringing extreme violence to our grounds, that might have an effect on general attendance figures but, despite that factor, I expect to be proven right.

Of course, if RD is sacked or “resigns” this summer, we will hear that they only came back because RD was the factor that was keeping them away.

I did say it was copied from KDS, I had no idea of it’s accuracy or not.

Both my sons and all their Tim pals, all my family in England, Ireland and Canada want a form of hun back in our league to create interest. I am a lone voice against.
