    Guyfawkesa…,

    got a link ?

I never did find anything that proved Celtic were involved though I did hope we were.

If we were, why would the idea be discontinued ?

When you read the Celtic Nation story it’s from April 2015. Apologies, I’m off to chastise the source who sent me it this morning.

  3. Morning bhoys and ghirls .

Work and personal commitments have kept me quiet for a while ( thank god – Ed) but sometimes a break makes you realise what you’ve missed about a place .

Regarding the team, it looks like they are beginning to gel and work for each other and thats still without Broonie to cone back who shoukd be back in next few weeks and hopefully drive us to another treble AND be fit for next season CL qualifiers .

Was a delight as usual to meet Dena , HT, Leftclicktic and MountblowTim (thoughts with your missus Davy although I think she’s enjoying the peace and quiet!)

Have a great week bhoys and ghirls and hopefullly it’ll culminate in another LC final appearance.

Hello again all you young rebels.

Great news today in Oz, seven out of eight state premiers

have signed a declaration calling for an Australian head of

state and with premier Macolm Turnbull already a diehard

republican it looks like the butchers apron will be ripped

off the Aussie flag in my lifetime, yeehooodo you think any

stickies here ( if you can find them ) will demand to know

who these people are? anyway, our wee Mornington

peninsula is already a republic so it was only a matter of

time till the rest of Oz followed suit.

Love the game at the weekend and good to see some of our

under performers starting to play a bit better, but more to

come from the team IMO, but those long sleeved white

t shirts are still ripping my knitting, why don’t they wear long

sleeved hoops tops if their arms are cold? anybody?

  6. Re KPIs and fan ownership ….

I doubt I’ll ever life to see the day that the sports pages are covered with headlines “Celtic fail on KPIs again , calls for fan board members to resign ” … For at least one simple reason that it would be nonsensical to have explicit football related KPIs, for example , CL qualification every other year , as this would leave the club open to the charge of lowering ambitions and explicitly giving everyone outside the club a large stick to beat the crap out of us ….

    Good Morning Folks,

Keep an eye on the Adidas/IAAF story.

The fact that a major sports brand and international sponsor has chosen, for the sake of its own reputation, to walk away from a sports governing body which is not fit for purpose will send shivers down the spine of all sports bodies who might just be in need of cleaning house.

More importantly, the message will ripple through to the self serving blazer types who govern certain sports in certain jurisdictions that commercial marketing and business people will pull the plug on financial support for sports bodies if it is shown that the companies they work for might suffer reputational damage as a result of being associated with corrupt sports administration.

PR people, QC’s, spin merchants, marketing execs and all those guys are only as good as the material they have to work with.

If your base product and governance stinks – no amount of clever brains will save you unless you get rid of the cause of the smell.

If you don’t, others will eventually walk out the door lest the smell stick to their clothes … and shoes.

I commented on this when it was announced that Seb Coe was the guy selected to do the clean up. I find it amazing that this has happened. He was there throughout this period of corruption and indeed was Chair of the FIFA Ethics Committee over the period when corruption was rife there too. I am astounded that anyone could think he is the correct person to clear up this sport. This needs a new broom – nothing is clearer. However, we’ve had Dick Puond on a charm offensive on Mr. Coe’s behalf for weeks now. Journalists should be asking some basic questions about why a man who was such an integral cog in the machinery at both organisations is considered the proper person to undertake this work.

Glad to see the sponsor taking the right approach.

The British government ordered ambassadors around the world to lobby athletics leaders to vote for ‘Lord’Coe in the IAAF presidential election.

Absolute farce which shows the class system and jobs for the boys is still very much in the forefront of some decision making. Protect the establishment.

    Coe’s comments have been cringeworthy.

Alice Cooper ‘ Schools out’. Album cover was a school desk which opened up.

Took it to a party. Taking an LP was the only criteria to fulfil to gain entry. When leaving said party, drunk as a skunk (after 2 cans of Tartan) some Bassa had half inched it. Never got it back.

Bought billion dollar babies after that, which had a one billion dollar note inside it. Problem was I couldn’t spend it. The local shops couldn’t take it and asked if I had anything smaller. Hey ho……

There is no way Leigh could become as good as Henrik. Apart from the fact that Henrik really was an excellent player, he has improved exponentially since retiring and will continue to do so. In the unlikely event that Leigh ever becomes as good as Henrik was, he won`t be as good as Henrik is now 0:-).
