Agree re the Sevco challenge – the make-up of the squad is not geared to longevity, or, future enrichment from the transfer market, rather it is soley designed to make an early impact – i.e. a two year project to beat Celtic – it is not to be taken lightly, regardless of how much derision we heap on them for other things.
That is what the report says re the fees. I’ll look at it again.
I think he was represented by a guy called Juanma Lopez when we bought him.
Whatever the fee anything north of £2m for us is significant money.
Especially given his career history, goals record over the career and the odd way he arrived.
Brugge look to be the only club that paid money for him 553k in 2010.
Freed to Happoel in 2011. Freed to Partizan in 2012.
Bounced about a few clubs, apparently.
Bought by Gijon for £850k in July 2014 and sold to us for £2.15m in September 2014!
If the transfer record is correct. What are they at?
Have a look at his goal scoring record too…

You miss the point he has enhanced his squad with big money on wages, but it’s money they haven’t got.
They don’t win the league this season it’s over again, they are going for bust.
I’m pretty certain we will see them of this year.

Shit it won’t take much for the huns to finish second in the SPL, if you know anything about football you’d know how weak Scottish football is.
Hearts came up and did very well, the Huns will continue to have the 2nd biggest wage bill in Scotland, so odds are they’ll finish second to us.
Of course them finishing 2nd will be spun by some on here as Celtic’s fault

Thank you :-)
Not that your asking but I was technically illiterate when I picked up Brendon Behan’s,Borstal Boy. Failed my O’Grade English with a E but gained an A in History which caused quite a stir in the school I was in.
Headmaster sends for the parents and with the previous incumbent English teacher present precedes to slaughter said teachers abilities and making a stealy eyed promise that not only would this outrageous anomaly be rectified said teacher would have no further part to play in his plans.
He kept me behid after parents had left meeting who were now utterly convinced I was set to become a future Nobel laureate in literature.
“An “E” grade for English and a A for History indeed!” he sez…..”.Well,you’ve made history alright, that’s a first! ever!”.
So he does a fact find, including whatever the priest could tell him, and makes a syllabus tailored just for me!
Out went Orwell, Owen, Shakespeare et al and in came Behan, Heaney, O’Casey.
Worked a treat…. B pass! Not bad for someone with grammar that would be akin to that of a five year old :-)
Point is re Behan. I’d never really read a book before and enjoyed it. Behan did that and my life was enhanced no end. Opened doors.
I’m very excited about this Season. Celtic have some Excellent fitba players there. I’m Hoping that Brendan can bring the Very Best out of all our players.

You can see the extent of the problem I had or should I say have :-)
In my defense I think Brendon’s laws in Ireland was a particular favourite of mine at said school until I asked the head teacher and priest if it was okay if I formed a “community-ism” society for fellow pupils based on the laws principles?
That was the end of that, but they gave me school captain of football team as compensation (as long as I dropped the communist thing). Not bad deal considering my ability as a footballer and the inevitable door captaincy opened with the gals :-)
Also, having accepted the deal, my priest pointed out I wasnt I couldnt have been a communist after all having sold out so cheaply? “Easy for you to say” I sez…” I doubt youve never been with a gal”.

Most Definitely. I’ve been all over Celtic Park and there is usually a moaner somewhere close – that really irritates.
You always make decisions, sometimes you don’t make a decision. I decided not to ask to be moved from the FF row when the Dots became available – A lot of Steps to get up there FFS. ;)) There is a Mum with her 4 Sons along the row from me.
