Celtic will need to dig deep for victory

1054

Neil Lennon’s most inspirational victory over Rangers arrived in January 2011 when a depleted squad in poor form outplayed their rivals.  Despite this it remains a concern that Gary Hooper and James Forrest, the manager’s two most favoured players, are injury doubts for tomorrow. Whether Hooper and Forrest are fit or not, we’ll need all the fighting spirit from the win last year if we want to leave with another win.

Six days ago at Hampden we witnessed what happens when a team in the middle of a results slump focus on the most game they have left in the season.  Kilmarnock are a team with enormous vulnerabilities and I’m prepared to bet than none of you witnessed their last win over Celtic in Glasgow, but they got the result.  Tomorrow is the biggest game in Rangers’ season.  You can forget about Ally McCoist’s comments that Celtic are firm favourites, that’s what passes as mind games across the city. Any win would be an enormous achievement from Celtic.

I have always felt sorry for them. A bit like the animal that has just been the victim of a car accident and has no chance. It is not a nice job to drop the brick and put the poor animal out of its misery.

The only difference this time is that the brick is being dropped on the rabid fox that has been stealing the chickens.

Two birds with the one stone but it is the humane and civilised thing to do.

I can also stop feeling sorry for them.

Josef, I too was there that day in the enclosure. Trying to get some shelter from the rain under the jutting stand roof, an obviously hun pigeon perfectly targetted my head and I spent the rest of the game letting the rain soak me to get clean.

We took it as a sign of luck.

I know there has been a fair amount of praise for Kenny Shiels in the past week because of his dignified response to the cup final, but he was also the first SPL manager – and one of the only period – to publicly speak out at the height of the ethnic cleansing campaign against Neil Lennon.

I dont care what the guys politics are, who he supports or any of that – because it wouldnt change the fact he is a decent bloke.

What adds to my respect is coming from his background he took the more difficult route in becoming that decent bloke.

    C’mon the Donegal comeback!

  12. Just think – The bullish, brash, boorish billy boys are doubting themselves right now – their worse case scenario is made real…

These hours will drag – heavy leaden feet – they’ll false smile to family and friends – partners will ask – What’s up? – Nothing, they’ll reply – acting as if it was never there… that possibility… that worse case scenario…

The cold comfort magnified by the fact that their ‘huddle’ celebration at Celtic Park, long revered, has been spoiled somewhat by the persistent rumours of malfeasance and malpractice which might steal away any contentment the memory intuits…

That and the fact that Glasgow Celtic Football Club’s team might conduct their own in a few hours… Legally. Fairly…

They’re going to hate tonight and tomorrow – all their pomp and circumstance will be riven through with the hollow truth that just when they thought everything could not get any worse, it did.

And, my friends, in spite of all this there remains a scarier truth they have to consider. If ever an entity had a Room 101 walking and breathing, that entity is Rangers Football Club and Neil Francis Lennon is their bogey man…

They’re gonna be seeing his face in their dreams tonight.

    And that makes me smile…

You really must believe us, you really must believe us, you really must belieeeeeeeeeeeeeeve us… We’re gonna haunt their dreams….

Wee willie blue nose was mauled to death by the good people of stirling. He was busking for the hun fighting fund outside a butchers shop singing “We don’t do walking Away” and was savagely beaten to death by a crowd with square sausages and a couple of lbs of link…his fisher price keyboard was later retrieved smashed beyond repair.

gallagher. Thanks. Have just been reading about it on Alex Thomson’s site but no name was mentioned.

Makes you wonder why he’s so angry doesn’t it?

    The truth hurts.

BTW. Where is Jabba? His absence seems a tad convenient at the moment.

  21. Good evening one and all. I am proud to be one of the fortunate ones to be going to orcsville tomorrow. I always keep the faith and I believe tomorrow we will witness them losing the title on their own patch, in their last ever game against Celtic Football Club1888. If the latter ever plays them at orcsville again, Celtic Football Club 1888 will be playing a new club.

Come on Neil and his Bhoys let us finish the league on a high, let them feel in their stomachs and hearts the pain we all experienced at Celtic Park in 1999.

We will prevail tomorrow, we will be Champions on 25th March 2012.

Yes, I am nervous, the most nervous I have been before an orcs game for years. Tomorrow will be Neil Lennon, The Bhoys AND our day.

We will sing many songs tomorrow, many of which will be original, that is what makes us so special. I have a request, although I don’t think it will be sung. I would also love Neil and the Bhoys to listen to my request before they take to field, a bit like the Lions done in Lisbon and sing:

    Something Inside So Strong

This is not the end, although it is for oldco…this is just the beginning.

I am Neil Lennon, we are all Neil Lennon.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!
