It’s not like we didn’t warn them. Charles Green, with his ‘blame it on bigotry’ and ‘Rangersitis’ nonsense was an even more transparent charlatan than wee Craig Whyte. Green moved in, fed them the nonsense they were oh so willing to swallow, and made off with their millions. All carried out in broad daylight.
The financial realities were self-evident from day one of Newco’s existence. For a while you had to wonder if any of vast number of fans, journalists and fan-journalists with computers had a spreadsheet between them. But, a more powerful force than Rangersitis had taken hold – vanity. The kind of vanity only those afflicted by a notion of supremacy are susceptible to.
Their club was liquidated, a newco was formed. It adopted Rangers’ name while the original club was still an SFA member (and granting permission for their players to turn out for was for the time known as ‘Sevco Scotland’.
Put yourself in their shoes for a moment. This isn’t an easy pill to swallow. Around these parts people invest the kind of sentiment in their football team which goes into nationalism elsewhere, occasionally causing wars. It’s a primitive but natural part of all of us, so perhaps we should have been more respectful of the feelings of others at the time. Cough.
If someone was able to chart the world’s Cognitive Dissonance harvest it would have been off the chart for the last two years, brought about when a degrading reality met a supremacists vanity. The subsequent scarcity of Armageddon (biff), Celtic’s flourishing Champions League action (bang), the new New Firm (whallop) were all late blows which none of the Jokers at Ibrox anticipated. Even Kilmarnock managed to sort themselves out without collapsing into administration.
Without the ability to accept credit or debit cards, or with the bank’s authority to allow fans to automatically renew season tickets, the signs are written as tall as Ibrox’ Club Deck. I can’t see more than a few thousand being prepared to throw their money into a landfill site.
Season ticket renewal deadline has been moved to a week before when next month’s wages are due. Right now the directors have a reasonable aspiration that tens of thousands of fans will renew but on 17 May, the day after the deadline, reality should crystallise. If there was a spread bet available, I’d put my money on administration in the days to follow.
Money talks, it don’t sing and dance and it don’t do walking away….

Lenny won league and cup double last year and got team into last 16 champions league. He didn’t get MOTY.
Did ppl really expect those muppets in charge of the votes to give him it this year?
Not a chance was he ever gony get it.

No completely wrong interpretation. The gist which flew past you is that the desire to attendi the game was obviously less acute today as it was with those who normally inform the blog. So those who never saw the televised game and did not listen to shortbread had less to comment on.
I normally don’t spoon feed but for you I make an acception.;-)

That’s not what I said. The GB set a marker that it’s unacceptable for Celtic players to refer to people as
‘f&£@ing refugees’
Do you think that’s wrong?
HT,going by the evidence, could you swear to god that you would find LG guilty of singing a “Racist song”Straight question.
I hope the papers are full of stories about the banner. The banner sets out what is expected of a Celtic player.
I’m proud if we are recognised for such attributes.
Frank Ryan’s Whiskey
I never said they felt they were Scots but they belong to us for the time being and I said if they wanted to leave that would be up to them but they’ll never get that chance in the Union. All of which is true.
I also never said oil was the be all and end all and clearly you selectively missed it.
While we have it in whatever form and from whichever field we are better using it for us than financing what it has for 40 years – Thatcher’s unemployment bills and illegal wars. What’s left among 5 Million goes a lot longer than it will among 60 and seeing as we’ve by and large never seen any real benefit from it for 40 years and the true value of it was lied about in the first place (again also a fact) I would say Scotland deserves its shot.
If there was no oil I’d still be saying what I do and voting YES so you are just point blank wrong to conflate the two things You must have missed all the points about or other industries and abilities to be a successful nation I listed earlier and the fact that plenty smaller countries than us are independent and manage fine well.
You merely vomit out anti-Scottish diatribes on this site every day and quite honestly I have had enough of your lies, half truths and sheer ignorant interpretations of Scotland, its history and its people. Your ignorance of the circumstances that allowed the union to come into being you spouted the other day were wildly biased and inaccurate. You seem blissfully unaware or deliberately and willingly uninterested in acknowledging the negative reaction it had at the time and still has today on Scotland culturally and socially is largely ignored by folk like you because some Scots made money out of the Empire and fought in the armies.
I don’t deny that, I don’t respect that but I cannot affect alter or change it so there seems little point in apologizing for something I played no part in or hold no truck with. You seem funnily unconcerned about any other nations who had empires – proving my point that it is Scotland and Scots you have a personal problem with.
You should go and watch The Cheviot, the Stag and the Black Black oil on youtube – you might see the truth about this union of ours.
Your comments are laced with out and out hatred for Scotland and its people and you cannot hide it no matter how many pals you have in an archipelago of 23000 souls.
If Shetland really want to leave the only way they will manage it is with a YES vote. Get your head around that if you can.
And for the record deliberately spelling a word incorrectly is either immature or postmodern. I know which of the two uses you are employing.
As I said before – it’s just sad.
I’d feel sorry for you but I know I’d be wasting my time to do so.

When it comes to grammar and spelling i’m afraid i would’nt know where to correct peoples mistakes , i know people will get the jist of my drivel if i get close enough with my spelling .
Todays game was controlled in the most part and could have been eight or nine , crowd was quite low and thank god for the effort from the GB from start to finish a joy to be near ;))
Neil Lennon has never won the PFA Manager of the Year award.
Couple of independence questions while I am on how will wee Alec and big gorgeous Nicola deal with a situation as witnessed in the Ukraine in recent weeks should Scotland gain independence
And more importantly will I still have to pay a licence fee to the BBC

Banner was fair if you ask me. The way I took it they were having a go at the boards double standards.
One rule for them and the fans and a different one for players.
At present times fans are being thrown out (not just GB), ST removed and banned for speaking out of turn etc.
LG gets to play on, which I’m glad of as I think he’ll do well for us.
As I said, a fair way to get their point across.
As for the Daily Rags….past giving a toss about what they print!
Anyway………. sorry to talk about the game today

“I thought today’s pre match display was excellent.
It didn’t vilify the player but clearly set out a marker for what is expected of a Celt.”
I couldn’t make it out from my position.
However, if it is as reported, then the GB have a real cheek.
A MAN MUST BE A CELT ON AND OFF THE FIELD OTHERWISE HE IS OF NO VALUE TO THIS CLUB.
I take it was irony from them.

My friends in Celtic,
A good day footballing wise, but I just don’t get it with Amido Balde. I fear we will never get the opportunity to see if he’s one for the future. ( Hard to put a viable argument though when we score six )
Reading back its funny how a striker always seems to be rated domestically against a former rival. How can our current strikers compete with that. Unfortunately it seems to be these goals that are remembered and revered. U tube hits certainly confirm this.
Tonight is not the time for argument but there are a few things for another time.
Does the GB deliberately court controversy. Was their banner justified or ill-judged again.?
Crowds are dropping. Is this inevitable, irreversible and how does it bode for the future.?
Should NFL and Celtic take Norwich’s four person short list as a complement, or is it an insult that they have the audacity to even consider “stealing” our manager; considering our respective positions. A likely relegated team to domestic Champions and CL participants ?
HH, always in Celtic.

Away back in the bad old days of the 1990s I used to drink in The Grove Bar in Kelvingrove St. The bar had a Celtic End and a thems end.
In our comparative youth we would get frustrated at the goings on at that time at Celtic, and discuss our concerns rather loudly, much to the glee of the other end of the bar.
A diamond of an old Celtic man would get angry at us and told us something one night that stuck with me.
NEVER BRING THE CLUB DOWN IN FRONT OF THEM.
THEM in this case include the MSM.
Like it or not, LG is now one of us. Allowing for his off field antics, he is still therefore entitled to our support, not being hung out to dry in public.
And since when were the Green Brigade the moral compass of the Celtic support?
Somebody threw a banana at Aves there……he picked it up, AND ATE IT hahahahahahaha

Barca’s Danny Alves goes to take a corner – banana ends up at his feet, so he lifts it, peels it, has a bite, throws the rest away and takes the corner !!
2 OGs bring Barca back to 2-2 from 2-0 down then Messi makes it 3-2 Barca. Still not playing with the old magic though.
Sorry – football stuff
Mcinnes manager of the year……disgraceful
Neil Lennon has two Scottish football writers manager of the year awards
Neil Lennon won the SPL manager of the year award in 2012
Since it’s inception in 2007 Celtic managers have won the PFA award twice
squire danaher,
I doubt there were many around my part of the ground who gave any support to the Green Brigade displaying the banner in question.
Don’t you know that the left wing loonies who run them are the only ones who have the right to a moral compass?
I actually feel that LG needs to understand what it means to play for Celtic but it is not the role of a section of the support, imo, to do that, especially as that same section demand the right to sing songs that are deemed offensive in this country, which so many of their fellow supporters wish to be independent.

Fellow Tims
My son Tony has ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease/Motor Neurone Disease. He is currently under hospice care, is confined to a wheelchair & has a feeding tube inserted directly into his stomach since he can’t swallow that well now.
His Mum Pauline and I, together with his brother Martin, his wife Julie and their children Clare & Ryan and a bunch of friends walked in the Charlotte (North Carolina) ALS Walk on Saturday April 26 to raise funds for the ALS Association.
Our team is called Tony’s Huddle and this is a link to the walk website for anyone interested in having a wee look. We raised $2155.00 which will go to provide support for local sufferers of ALS and help towards research into finding the causes and a cure for the disease. If you felt inclined the door hasn’t shut just yet. I posted during the night shift on Friday night. We completed the walk amid glorious sunshine. there is a pic on the Tony’s Huddle team page on the website.

My friends in Celtic,
A good day footballing wise, but I just don’t get it with Amido Balde. I fear we will never get the opportunity to see if he’s one for the future. ( Hard to put a viable argument though when we score six )
I really feel for Balde as he just seems to miss out on a chance. Maybe there is something in training that’s not right. But at £1:8m you would think his chance would be there.
Regarding your point about the result today being hard to argue with. I agree and I am aware winning keeps us happy but I for one would gladly sacrifice a 6-0 win for three or four of our young players getting a chance.
Our young players have won just about everything there is to win and when you look at the young players coming through at Dundee United you wonder why our bhoys don’t get as many chances. Year in year out the prove how good they are.
Since when did the gb become the new polis?
Dearie me
Another own goal by the parasitic GB, supported by their fellow travellers on here.
You would think that one of them would half half a brain. Seems not.
Why can’t the modern incarnation of the Celtic support adopt the founding principles of the club, I.e. Christian Charity, instead of the false, failed dogma of communism/ socialism?
It can’t be the schools, surely.
It make no sense to judge a player on training games. Its if the player can do it in the first team. Pukki anbd Boerigter probably look like world-beaters in training but cant do it in the first team . From what Ive seen of Baldie I believe he could be a success . In fact if he was given a fair chance and was able to get his confidence after his long spell on the bench he would be a star. However if I was him I’d wouldnt hang around for another season of the same treatment. Neil said he would get his chance ……..when??
Aidenybhoy
Thanks for discussing it among yourselves without involving me who asked the initial question. Thanks also for completely ignoring me.Cowie a clique?
Why are the GB missing today ?
