Chasm, but Celtic should have done much better

460

For all of our dominance yesterday, you have to think there is room for considerable improvement. Passing in the first half was frequently poor, shooting throughout the game was invariably off target, and when we managed to keep it down and between the sticks, the keeper was able to read the shot. Gilks played well, but the truth is we flattered him.

Moussa Dembele grabbed all the headlines with his back-heel-flick-nutmeg-winning-goal, but I spent much of the game debating whether it was time he was rested. Against Newco last month, he held the ball up and linked play, while finding and exploiting space. Yesterday his linking was poor and he seldom found space.

The incisiveness we enjoyed watching as recently as the outing against Manchester City, was missing against Gladback on Wednesday and at Hampden yesterday.

There were also enormous positives. Jozo Simunovic and Erik Sviatchenko were absolutely critical on Celtic’s grip on the game. Their positioning – when we were in possession – kept the ball flowing. They both gave us playmaker performances, and they didn’t miss a beat defensively either.

Again, just as on Wednesday, it didn’t work for Nir Bitton. When we play out from central defence like this the deep-lying playmaker role is crucial. He need to create space for us to move the ball forward, while he becomes an auxiliary defender as our full backs are so high up the field.

Stuart Armstrong came on and played higher up-field than Bitton and managed to put the squeeze on Newco.

The game reminded me of the League Cup semi-final two years ago, when Celtic subjugated an impotent Newco without scoring the volume of goals their superiority deserved. There was a chasm between the teams, which makes my belief that Celtic can play a lot better all the more interesting. Conversely I suspect that was a high water mark for Mark Warburton’s team.

The portents are good that he believes that game was a sign of progress.

As for Craig Thomson, that was self-evidently not good enough.

    Cowiebhoy,

Cheers I picked up that much and that they now have £20M in the kitty to pay the creditors and players.

    My main questions were

What does this mean for MA ? Or will some of this money be used to buy back his securities ?

Is the Whyte claim on the asstes dead ?

I had to listen back to Clyde from last night. Deary dreary me. We should actually applaud Johnstone, his dumb cheerleading is beyond a joke and he continues to embarrass everyone and everything connected with the new club. ‘Wallace fantastic game, Hill best game for the club, Hodson an excellent prospect, Rangers defensively very good’.

I spoke at length last night to my son in law, his brother and dad, all Sevco diehards. They all agreed that we are years ahead and they will struggle to make top three, rounding on half the team, the manager and mostly King, none of whom received criticism by Johnstone.

I’m starting to think that even their own mob have turned off this clown.

I looked at the links through the companies last week when this was raised, can’t remember the original poster who raised it sorry pal but thanked him for the knowledge.

Basically the two personal, and the two company directorships are the same people. Liberty Corporate is also likely to be Craig Whyte via a British Virgin Isles registration, allowing him to ignore the fact he’s disqualified from being a director.

Craig Whyte also has a long history with the Worthington Group. Law Financial is the company they set up to pursue the claim to ‘Ra Deeds’. Which is the security passed over from Sevco 5088 to them.

This was the Worthington position in a release to the Stock Market on the 17th Oct:

    “Rangers Litigation and Craig Whyte

The Board of Directors reaffirm that Mr Craig Whyte has no interest in Worthington or its subsidiaries.

It remains the view of the Directors that the Company has, through its ownership of Law Financial Limited, claims relating to the administration of Rangers Football Club, the sale of its assets and the liquidation of RFC 2012 Plc.”

  25. Not been on here since the day or two after the Beer Sheva game. That night ,and the following day, I was on cloud nine, going on ten. Endless Delight and Joy should have ensued. Then all the trolls came on and nobody (not literally) was taking DavidO’s advice to stop feeding the trolls. On and on it went right up to the skelping of thems which was another laugh out loud joyous occasion. My last post was on 25th August reminding everyone it was now only 9 months till our 50th Anniversary and asking if anyone….anyone….was organising a pilgrimage to Estadio Nacional on and/or around 25th May next year. I also referred to page 274 of “That Season In Paradise” and the itinerary therein….including the reference to “25th May – Football Match (sic) Glasgow Celtic -v- Inter Milan”. No responses. Zilch. On 25th September Winning Captains posed the same question. Hee haw, once again. It’s now 25th October and only 7 months to go. Is there a secret society out there vetting worthy pilgrims or are folks just making their own private arrangements? I’ve enjoyed reading on here the tales of those who have made personal visits this year and they certainly whet the appetite. It would be just nice to know if there was a trip, official or unofficial, planned.

Right, off to do some donkey work – I’ll look in later to indulge in my multi-daily fix of CQN, regardless if there are no responses to the above.

Re The Rangers FC Group and Law Financial Ltd I am not absolutely certain but I think the position is this:

Craig Whyte has always maintained that he, through one of his myriad companies, has always held a floating charge over Ibrox and other assets and that quite separately he has a legitimate claim in Sevco 5088 Ltd and a claim against Sevco Scotland Ltd which company, acting through Green, took title to the assets of Rangers PLC when the Administratotrs of that company had in fact contracted to sell them to Sevco 5088 Ltd of which he was part.

Whyte also faces the prospect of going bust because he personally guaranteed the debt to Ticketus which helped fund the repayment of Lloyds etc, for Rangers PLC (In Liquidation) and Ticketus have called up his guarantee.

However, he will argue (and Ticketus may well go along with him on this) that he is not bust because he (and they) hold security over Ibrox and other assets and that Sevco Scotland Ltd should have no right of ownership of those assets without paying him or that the whole deal to Sevco 5088 Ltd is completely flawed and should be reduced.

In other words, King & Co owns squat all except paper shares and a worthless fitba licence and even that is questionable.

CW has previously intimated a claim to this effect through Law Financial Ltd. What is being done here is that he is effectively assigning all rights in the claim to Law Financial, and if you look at the terms of the charge, it allows Law Financial to in turn sell any part of their security without a by your leave.

If you look at the accounts page it says that Law financial have cash assets of £10M.

Therefore, it would appear that they have the mullah to wage war in the courts and if they win they win Ibrox and everything else. If they lose, then they lose and can cop for the expense of losing but I will bet that within that period they will fold their tent if they lose and there will be nothing left but wind.

However, the key thing here is that if they really go to town, serve a proper claim against the liquidators and Sevco Scotland Ltd, The liquidators, in turn, will have to look seriously at whether this claim has any merit. If it has they will make a claim against Duff and Phelps Insurance who will then blame their lawyers and they, in turn, might argue they were misled by Green and his team who said that Sevco Scotland and Sevco 5088 were de facto one and the same.

Mess? This is more Messi than Lionel’s mammy making a mess in the officers mess with colonel Messi wearing a Messi shirt and carrying a bag of messages.

Moving on though, if there is a real and properly funded claim, the lawyers (a strange breed of people trust me) will calculate the “Litigation Risk”!

The level of “Litigation Risk” in this case will be different for BDO, Duff & Phelps, Charles Green, Dave King and everyone else who has invested at any time and that includes the Easdales, the Blue Knights and God knows who.

There will be more lawyers calculating “Litigation Risks” on this than at a Litigation Risk convention full of Litigation Risk Calculators. — and they will all smell MONEY.

If Craig can press his claim and has the money to see it through, the first thing that will be calculated by everyone will be the potential legal fees to defend this win lose or draw.

Craig Baby has £10M to play with and if it will cost a few million to defend you can bet the insurers will say “Offer him £3m to feck off” because we will end up paying that in fees anyway.

Craig Baby will say beat it.

So then we get to the next part of the risk calculation: Will he win and if so who stands to lose what?

Here is where the fun begins because at that stage all the defenders will look at one another. BDO have to protect the creditors. The insurers of D&P have to protect themselves and their client (though there can be a conflict in that). Dave King will have to protect himself and those he persuaded to invest and will have a convenient excuse to invest no more until this is all cleared up, and all of them, every single one of them, will look at Charlie Green who performed the old switcheroo.

Charlie will stare right back and point out that none of them were willing to put up a penny when the time came and it was only subsequently that they came along and stuck money in and that they all had everything checked out through their own lawyers and so hell men and bugger them. That will be Charlie’s chant from somewhere in France or elsewhere very far away — and he will wheel out his contracts which say that Sevco Scotland has to indemnify him from all risks and pay all his legals (remember that oul chestnut?)

So, just when you thought Mrs Messi couldn’t get any Messier, Charlie will bring out the Grandmother of all messes including the fact that Craig wasn’t allowed to buy anything and in turn Craig will produce his crackerjack self recording secret pen, pencil case, watch, shoes and everything else which will contain endless recordings of everyone agreeing to stitch up Stuart Regan and Neil the Donkey and in which he makes it plain that Ally McCoist is a complete tosser who couldn’t manager a bag of toilet rolls!

Meanwhile, Law Financial just keep pressing on, and allows all the others to fight amongst themselves until someone ponies up completely or the court throws the case out after the lawyers have all filled the oension pots. The Rangers tale has been a godsend for the legal profession!

But then again, maybe there is another twist in the tale?

Remember I said that the security allowed Law Financial to sell their claim on?

Well, imagine the scene where someone, maybe one of the defenders, knocks on their door and say ” Hey, Law Financial, do you want to sell that floating charge thingy and the claim that goes with it? You could be in court forever and you might lose but tell you what I will give you £7M for it right now and you can get out the road — of course in return I get the rights to press forward with the claim against all these other shysters and if I am successful, really successful, then I might throw you a few more £’s down the line!”

Then again the whole thing might be undone and everything (for what it is worth) ends up back with BDO who ransoms the lot to the highest bidder whoever that might be ( a thought truly not worth thinking about because you might split your ribs laughing).

Jings it is an awful complicated oul world we live in is it not?

    ,

When I was training I was always told that court cases were not always raised to be one and that when you can’t see the angles that is when you know you are buggered!

To the winner the spoils and let the games begin!!
