CHELSEA TO SWITCH KEEPER INTEREST

CHELSEA are ready to switch their attention from Craig Gordon as Celtic remain resolute in their intentions of keeping the Scotland international.
Stamford Bridge boss Antonio Conte is looking at fellow-Italian Salvatore Sirigu as a possible alternative as his side’s deputy keeper to Thibaut Courtois.
Sirigu, who was part of Conte’s Italy squad at Euro 2016, is on loan at Sevilla from Paris Saint-Germain, but has not been playing for the Spanish club.
Conte has made it clear that Asmir Begovic can only join Bournemouth in a £10million deal before Tuesday night’s deadline if the London outfit secure a reliable replacement.
Gordon, along with Diego López and Fernando Muslera, was identified by former first-team goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon, while Sirigu is thought to have been recommended by Conte.
The Chelsea gaffer repeated: “Begovic is Chelsea’s player and I’m very happy to have him to stay in the squad. I’m very happy with his commitment, his behaviour on and off the pitch.
“He’s also very important in the changing room for me. Only if we have a good replacement can he go. Otherwise, he stays here.”
