CONFIRMED: BARKAS AXED, BAIN IN

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has dropped Vasilis Barkas and given the nod to Scott Bain to take over in goal for tonight’s Champions League crunch against FC Midtjylland.

The Greek keeper blundered to allow the Danes their equalising goal in the 1-1 draw in the first leg of the second round qualifier at Parkhead last week.

Barkas was unconvincing, too, in the first-half of the friendly against West Ham on Saturday when he shipped three goals.

Dane Murray makes his first compettive start in place of the banned Nir Bitton. The 18-year-old centre-back came on as a sub before the interval in the opening tie following the Israeli international’s foolish sending-off.

Anthony Ralston, Stephen Welsh and Greg Taylor make up with rest of the Hoops backline, with Ismaila Soro, Callum McGregor, Liel Abada, David Turnbull and Ryan Christie ahead of them and Odsonne Edouard leading the line.

Kick-off for the the encounter at the MCH Arena is 6:45pm.

TEAM: Bain; Ralston, Welsh, Murray, Taylor; Abada, Soro, Turnbull, McGregor, Christie; Edouard. Subs: Barkas, Doohan, Ajeti, Rogic, Bolingoli, Urhoghide, Shaw, Robertson, Forrest, Montgomery.
