CONFIRMED: CELTIC KICK-OFF SWITCH

CELTIC’S Premiership game against Motherwell at Fir Park a fortnight on Saturday has had a kick-off switch.

The match was due to commence at 3pm, but will now begin at 12.30pm at the request of both clubs.

The earlier start for an encounter which is NOT being broadcast live by Sky Sports could aid recovery time for Brendan Rodgers’ players before their Champions League Group E match against Serie A cracks Lazio at Parkhead the following Wednesday evening, October 4.

The Hoops squad, of course, is being stretched fairly thin at the moment with the disappointing news Liel Abada will be miss the remainder of this year after sustaining a thigh injury during training with the Israeli international team.

Rodgers has already seen influential centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers and fellow-central defenders Maik Nawrocki and Stephen Welsh ruled out for a significant period of time.

The former Polish Under-21 cap, who cost £4.3million when he arrived from Legia Warsaw in the summer, was not fit enough to be included in the Celtic pool of 25 players for the group stages of Europe’s elite competition.
