CELTIC will face Kilmarnock in their Premier Sports League Cup semi-final at Hampden on Saturday January 14 2023 with a 5.30pm kick-off.

The date was confirmed this morning and ticket details will be announced next week, according to the SPFL.

The holders won through to the last four with a convincing 4-0 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park in midweek with Liel Abada firing in a double and Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi adding to the scoreline.

Ange Postecoglou’s team had also scored four in their previous outing in the competition when they hammered Ross County 4-1 in Dingwall. Callum McGregor, Giorgos Giakoumakis, James Forrest and Daizen Maeda were on target against Malky Mackay’s side.

GOALS ONE AND TWO…Liel Abada was in sparkling form at Fir Park.

GOAL THREE…Reo Hatate celebrates his clever effort.

GOAL FOUR…Kyogo Furuhashi hails his strike with Liam Kelly sitting it out.

The other semi between Aberdeen and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox outfit will take place at the national stadium the following day with a 3pm start.

Both games will be televised live by the competition’s sponsors Premier Sports.

Celtic’s Premiership match against St Mirren which was due for that Saturday will be rescheduled.

Two second-half goals from Kyogo overcame Hibs 2-1 in the League Cup Final in December last year as Postecoglou picked up his first piece of silverware as Hoops gaffer after arriving six months earlier.
