  1. ekbhoy – silva’s a parody of the whole thing – he’s like a cartoon version of sevco – an open goal tap in and he goes down like a sniper done him – that can only be from instruction or a culture of ‘we deserve so the quality of the football is secondary’.

  2. Evening all.

A friend of mine who is a massive Celtic supporter worked with many years ago with ex Ranger player Bobby Watson, who went on to become manager of Motherwell.

My friend asked him what was the difference between playing against Rangers rather than playing for Rangers?

His reply, ‘You don’ get penalties when you need them’.

    It’s always been the way.

Amidst all of your positive vibe it is worth remembering that Tav has won only 1 game ever at Celtic Park and has lost more times to Celtic than any other rangers player ever I believe.

Worth remembering also that they have 4 escape goats who are more disliked by their fans than ours set to start next week now.

Worth also remembering 3 or 4 others wanting away.

I know they have Mib help and a punchers chance but surely we will have enough. A patient but passionate support is what we need to augment what the team will be trying on the park.

Totally agree with all of your post

What I’m after are the hard facts

I can’t remember any match of ours where 8 minutes were added in the first half for any var or simple stoppage

I also remember them having a total of 14 minutes in one game, 5 in the first and 9 in the second which ended up becomIng 11 as they were still struggling

Burnley78 – it’s a sad state of affairs when we are more fearful of the officials/VAR than the team we’re playing against!

  8. Question for any statos but when was the last time anyone was sent off for deliberate handball? Looks like the dodgy red is now their weapon of choice.

I would argue that the new hun support is far worse than the previous version. Remember they have been fed bullshite for over a decade. The continuity myth, relegated to the bottom tier by a hateful scottish football community. They have a young support brought up since liquidation with a superiority complex amassing 3 trophies in 12 years 🤣

They don’t accept they were liquidated and from those ashes has resurrected a dangerous and embittered support.

  11. Superbru Round 35 update

With 3 more sets of fixtures left, the final picture is looking a bit clearer. This week was another week of moderate scoring which leaves Hutchybhoy’s 17 points from Round 25 as our Top Score to beat.

Our Top 3 this week are:-

    1. Hutchybhoy- 11.5 pts- this win has propelled him 14 places ahead of his brother in the race to the tape.

    2. Borgo67- 10.5 pts

3= Johnny the Tim & Scaniel the Donkey King- 8.5 pts

and sharing room space with Davie Martindale, we have:-

1= Wee BGFC, TheLurkinTim & Maccargo- 2.5 pts- The vindictive computer has picked on maccargo for the award of a Cucchiaio di legno this week.

In the long distance race, we are getting some clearance for the top 2 positions but a fierce race for 3rd:-

    1. One Malloy- 230.5 pts

    2. Billy Bhoy- 220.5 pts

    3. BC Milan- 212.5 pts

    4. Leggy- 212 pts

5= Hopeful Hoops & roy croppie- 206 pts

    7. Nawlite- 200.5 pts

Everyone else has still to break the 200 point barrier but we could have more than 20 by end of season.

Meanwhile, down in the cellar with Phil Clement’s gimps are:-

    1. Friesdorfer- 122 pts- a healthy lead on the “Predictions to avoid” front

    2. Chalmersbhoy- 130.5 pts

    3. BelmontBrian63-134.5 pts

Aipple, Gutenberg, Cosy Corner Bhoy and TheLurkinTim are still in the running too but Friesdorfer has taken Being Wrong to new depths this season and will be hard man to beat.

Our next deadline is Sat 11th when we have a 12.30 kick off to have some fun, with 4 other 3 pm kick offs. It might be a good idea to get your Sunday prediction for Hibs v Aberdeen in ahead of our Saturday game in case you have not sobered up by mid afternoon the next day.

    Hope yir teams win.

SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2023-24

    RESULTS FROM GAME #46 CELTIC 3 HEARTS 0 (KYOGO(2), O’RILEY)

    Good evening, friends.

A really important statement victory yesterday saw us maintain our 3 point / 5 goal lead at the top. There seemed to be a real positive vibe going into the game and, for once, I switched tack and agreed with those I spoke to that the result was far more important than the performance.

Clearly. I picked the wrong game to switch my usual mantra as we proceeded to turn in our best performance of the season.

After weathering some early pressure from Hearts we managed to get an early breakthrough to get the party started. A lovely, curled chip from Hatate and a fine header from Kyogo gave us a 1 nil lead and the confidence that comes with it. And when Matt O’Riley’s 50 yard pass dropped over Kyogo’s shoulder to be struck beautifully into the net the confidence really began to flow through the team. Lots of good further exchanges and some very good spells of just keeping care of the ball meant that we had a very well deserved 2-0 lead at the break.

Hearts again showed some early promise at the start of the 2nd half but it was from a Celtic corner that brought my most memorable moment from the game. Hearts broke away with the ball down their right hand side but were chased down by Captain Calum who broke up the move with 2 defining tackles that brought the whole stadium, yes even the Main Stand, to it’s feet. It wasn’t a turning point as such, given we were already 2 goals up, but for me it simply translated as ‘the captain’s back and we are winning this title!’

With only 3 or 4 minutes remaining I was one of only 3 people in the ground (the guy next to me was 1 of the others) who somehow missed Shankland’s clear hand ball. Fortunately the VAR pointed this out to the other blind man present, Clancy (quite possibly the poorest referee in Scotland) and the penalty was awarded. Matt O’Riley made no mistake and we ran out 3-0 winners. We do appear to be in a good place and The Double is certainly a possibility.

We have now played 46 competitive games. We have managed 31 wins, 7 draws and 8 defeats, scoring 104 goals and conceding 47. We have 3 league games left, 2 of them at home. We remain 3 points and 5 goals ahead of our nearest rivals. Match our closest rivals results and that will be enough to secure our 54th league title. Win our next game and we then only need 1 point from the remaining 2 fixtures.

My thanks to the 74 who voted this week, just 1 less than last. Perhaps a hoe win next week might see the numbers go even higher. The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.

  16. Weebobbycollins on

Melvin U…once upon a time a stupid hun on a stupid hun blog referred to a stupid hun player as an escaped goat…this caused many laughs and lots of sniggering on this blog…and rightly so. Ever since then many posters on here have in mocking jest used the same erroneous expression. Hopefully B78 was simply continuing the mocking theme.

  17. Fascinating discussion on here today guys about their support and whether or not it is “worse” than the fanbase of the old Rangers.

As I’m exposed to their bile every single day now, I’ll say this much; their obsessesions are darker, their politics more extreme, their bile more poisonous and their hatreds more widespread and scattershot. Once they just hated Us. Now they hate most things about their own country, the whole of the media, the SFA (laughable I know) and have grievances against every other club.

It’s astonishing, actually. Hatred is what defines them now, and they realise it and embrace it.

And yep, almost all of it is down to their embrace not just of the Survival Lie, but worse; the Victim Lie, which is the more toxic of the two and the only way the Survival Lie stands up. Because it’s based on so many fundamental flaws in thinking and obvious contradictions that they’ve invented a whole other lie to prop it up; essentially, that they were not liquidated but relegated, and that it was Scottish footbball, and not their own directors, vanity and greed, which struck the hammer blows against them.

Part of arguing against that every day, and attacking the media and others for promoting it, is that it very obviously stokes their myriad hatreds and gives the lunatic element a faux justification for feeling the way they do. It’s horrendous. And the next generation will not even pause to consider truth or fact, they’ll grow up with this certainty about stuff that didn’t even happen..

And their hatred will be off-the-charts even by current standards. It’s blatantly dangerous, as our fans and staff who’ve been subjected to that hatred at that ground can attest. And we have people like McCoist stoking it and hacks willing to overlook that fact because he’s one of their mates … and because some of them are fully on board not just with the lies, but the hate.

It’s really troubling, and everyone in Scotland should be worried about. They are already off the deep end, and they’re getting worse, not better.

    No offence……but..…

You are equating folks value in money terms.

You – See no harm in financially investing in the Old Firm….just to be allowed to watch Celtic players vs the opposition on a football pitch.

You – Keep Old Firm criminality going with every thin dime that you MUST invest in the PLC before they allow you to watch Celtic with the PLC’s permission always.

Me – I utterly detest the PLC with they’re Old Firm criminality and no doubt other criminalities as well….but, I won’t allow any emotional weakness to allow or twist me into being a “lazy unconscious criminal” to help with the big lie that Rangers and Sevco are are the same club…like you are doing.

If You are weak then You are weak and You will be exploited and sleekitly cheated all because You have intimated to the PLC that You are happy to be downtrodden and that is on You.

No itemised financial accountancy bravado talk will explain Your weak succulence to the Old Firm cover up.

Question for any statos but when was the last time anyone was sent off for deliberate handball? Looks like the dodgy red is now their weapon of choice.

    —-

The same with Yang’s red. A high foot that happens almost every other game in Scotland (including ours yesterday on James Forrest) isn’t given as a foul sometimes yet alone a card. We got a straight red.

  25. glendalystonsils on

Allan Morrison’s(Celtic by numbers) stats on the pattern of assistance given to Sevco are very revealing as regards red cards . Red cards issued in the early stages (let’s say first quarter) of matches are more likely to result in a win for the team retaining 11 players, than red cards issued later in the game . Witness Killie’s red today and Yang’s red at Tynecastle , both of which handed Sevco an advantage , one directly and one indirectly .

The interesting part being that red cards which benefit Sevco are disproportionally issued in the early stages of a game .

You would almost think refs/VAR were deliberately looking for early opportunities !
